Welcome to The Likes of Us . . .

This role play will be remotely based off of the movie The Grey starring Liam Neeson. No, not the entire movie. Just the part where we're all aboard a plane that crash lands in a snowy terrain, where we are forced to survive the harshness of, not only the icy weather, but the wild animals ^{(from wolves to snow leopards, etc.)} and even some murderous, 'rabid' natives living out in the wilds of Tibet. We all ended up on this plane in our own ways, but now we're here being forced to survive the Tibetan Wilderness, together. Whether you want to be a team player or attempt to survive this hellish place alone is completely up to you. Will you try surviving this place on your own, or travel with the likes of us?

Simple, Easy to Follow Rules . . .

1. There will be no posting order. As much as I prefer having one, with a role play like this I think it's best we leave it out.
2. There will be no double posting. If the person you are currently interacting with hasn't replied back within 2 days time, please try to get in contact with them. If you are more the impatient type, post without them and simply carry on without them. They can/will catch up.
3. Follow the RPG rules. We all know them. We love them. Abide by them, yeah?
4. No god-moding. Our characters are not invincible.
5. No bunny-modding. This means, no taking control over a character that isn't your own, unless you've been given the proper permissions to take over control of said character.

Taken by Kol Danvers ^{who is a Junior, this year}. He and I live in the same neighborhood, and met through our fathers. Both of our fathers went to AA meetings, and Kol and I were a couple of the kids who practically grew up in the rooms of AA. Our fathers became fast friends, and both eventually fell back into their old habits, enjoying it together in their new-found friendship. Kol and I became very close and decided one day that we'd take a shot at being something more. We've been together for a year and a half, now. Kol is my flashlight.

Standing at an approximate five foot four, weighing a total one-hundred and twenty-six pounds, I'm built with a majority of muscle and lean fat. I have a slim figure with slight curves, a set of average B-cups and a killer smile to go with it. My dark hair is quite lengthy, stretching past my breasts an inch or so. Dark, 'sh*t-brown' eyes match my hair color perfectly. Almost seeming black, in the darker hours of the day. In direct sunlight, my eyes brighten up and become more of a golden-brown. I've got my great-grandmother's nose, my mother's eyes and a mouth just like my father's. Both in shape and the way we talk. ^{Quite the sailor, sometimes.} Or at least that's what I've been told. I've got major scarring on my left hand from burns I received in a house fire that nearly took the life of my youngest brother. What people don't know ^{because they can't see them} is that I've also got quite the graveyard of scars on my upper thighs. Back in my early middle school days, I became an emotional cutter. No one knows of this, not even my parents. Well, Kol knows.. but he's the only exception, and I'd like to keep it that way.

I'd think others would see me as a semi-quiet person, one who doesn't particularly enjoy speaking up for herself which by default makes me an excellent target for people who like to talk sh*t.. I am well-disciplined and am a great leader, when it comes to working together with others on such things as class projects and assignments. It pretty much goes without saying that about 98% of the people who meet me instantly love me. I am a real people person once I can get a feel for them, and am very friendly upon meeting new people but can be super shy at times, as well. Once you get to know me, I'll be one of your most trusted and loyal friends. Or, at least I hope I can be. I expect a lot of myself, and put others needs before my own. I am very family-oriented. I'm definitely different. Some might even say I'm difficult. They're right, because truth of the matter is, I'm complicated.

|| HOUSE DESCRIPTION ||

The house that built me is a two-story, five-bedroom, two-bath home, with an added attic and basement built in. Two bedrooms sit on the first floor (icluding the Masteer) while the other three sit on the second floor. Painted white with a dark brown roof. The windows are short in width but stand tall, five in a row on the first floor, and four in a row on the second. The attic also has windows. Four small ones in total, all grouped together. There's also a small porch area outside of the front door. There's a flimsy metal door that encloses the porch before you can get to the front door. Once inside, you'll notice nothing is particularly new in this house. Since my mother passed, things haven't been taken care of as well as they should. Paint is beginning to peel off the walls, the floorboards creak louder than they used to and depending on your step, even cave in slightly as if ready to collapse. The four rooms used for the Delaney/Bradshaw kids were quite small, the master bedroom was only slightly bigger than theirs. Many family photos litter the walls of the house, as well as old notes and drawings plastered on the old fridge with magnets of every shape and size. Now that only Wyatt, Christopher and I live at the house with dad, we each have our own rooms and dad has his room and own little office space out of the fifth bedroom. In the backyard, there's a tree house and a play-set that was built when Tyler and Wyatt were kids that now only Christopher uses. Sometimes I indulge in his childish games and will play outside with him in the tree house and on the play set, pushing him on the swings or helping him climb the monkey bars. The house that built me also tears me down. So many good and bad memories in this place..

The Nitty Gritty Truths About Me You'll Probably Never Know

|| BIOGRAPHY ||

Where do I even begin? |Taking a moment, Aria takes a deep breath and slowly lets it out, rubbing her palms over the tops of her thighs firmly.| Well, I guess it all starts with my birth. I was born in the wee hours of a Friday morning, January 18^th, 2002. My parents were engaged at the time of my arrival, but lasted only another two years before they broke off their relationship for the last time. With four boys and two girls on their hands, they did whatever they could to keep us as comfortable as they possibly could, even from separate households. Dad's was always the most packed, with James, Joseph, Tyler, Wyatt and Genevieve.. not to mention myself. No matter which house I was in, though, I was always the baby. Picked on by the rest of my siblings but got spoiled the most by my parents and grandmas. I've never known my 'grandpas'. My mother's dad was an alcoholic who used to beat my grandma, and my dad's absentee father was never around for him. He left my daddy early on in his childhood. The only man my daddy ever grew up looking up to were my great Uncle Glen and great grandpa, who we call 'Pops'. I spent most of my time at my mom's house, though. The three youngest of my brothers also stayed with my mom during the school week, and got to spend time at our dad's on the weekend. Over the years, both our parents found new people to be with and soon ^{approx. 6 years after the split with dad} our mom was engaged again to a man by the name of Walter Kennedy. He turned out to be a better stand-in-father than our own dad ever was, and probably ever would be.
Mom worked at a bar called Poor Richard's as a bartender, and tended to drink on the job quite often only to come home hammered off her *ass. When she'd get home, she'd drink more until she'd black out. Walt wasn't too much help in this situation, although to his credit he did try convincing her to at least slow it down, knowing she didn't have the will to stop. She never did. After years of watching her stumble through the school grounds to pick me up from After School Program, screaming in a drunken cheers at me while I was acting up on stage for a play my class put on in 5th grade, and me having to search her room for peppermint schnapps bottles to empty out before she could return home. I may have been the baby in the household, but I seemed to be the only one trying to help mom with her disease. At one point or another, mom dragged me around to the AA meetings she went to like dad had suggested her to do. They didn't seem to be her thing, and before ya' knew it she was back to doing what she loved. Drinking. Wasn't too long after the family finally came to the conclusion she needed to go to rehab and her refusing treatment, that she landed herself in the hospital several times for blood transfusions. At that time, my dad convinced her and Walt to let him take over custody of me. I didn't really understand why until a few months later. Finally, one day just a week after Christmas of '12 had passed, she was back in the hospital, but this time the doctor said there was nothing they could do. Mom wouldn't wake. They transferred her to a convalescent facility where she spent her last week before she died of liver failure.. internal bleeding, including several spots on her brain. She died a complete stranger. The cirrhosis caused her skin to yellow and age, making her 36-year-old self to look 10 years older. Her death landed 11 days before my 12th birthday.
Dad, however, worked as an independent contractor. Unlicensed and usually under the table, but he was very good at what he did.He also had a much different addiction, than mom did. Drugs. In his early years he dabbled in quite a few different things, but the one he refused to let go of was weed. Dad would lock himself in the garage and get high with his childhood buddies, leaving my siblings and I to our grandma to entertain us. It seemed at times I hardly even knew who my dad was. I became very close with my grandma during the early years of my childhood, and grew further apart from my dad. He would try buying our love with material things, and one time buying us a group of hermit crabs to somewhat satisfy our want for a house pet. On rare occasions, we'd take day trips to the lake or weekend trips to the river to camp and fish. Other than that, dad was hardly around for any of us. When my mother began to go downhill with her health about a year before her passing, to his credit, he went cold turkey and started going to NA meetings. During this time, he met my step-mom Laurel. They were both in NA trying to set their lives straight, and going against the 'unspoken rule' of the meetings (not dating anyone till after your first year of sobriety), they began dating and sooner than later found out they were pregnant. 9 months later I was blessed with the fact I was no longer the baby, anymore and had to do a bit of growing up. Even though I was the youngest of the older siblings in the Bradshaw house, I was the one stuck babysitting Christopher while dad and Laurel went away to NA meetings that sometimes lasted till the early hours of the morning. Dad kept me at my school to finish out 6th grade, but once the school year ended, I was transferred into a new school in the town near the apartment my father and Laurel rented. I spent the two years of my Middle School life living with my father and step-mom. I was treated like Cinderella, during those times, although thankfully I didn't have any mean step-siblings to deal with. Just my own brothers, who still managed to be a pain in my rear. During the last two years, my dad dropped NA and started going to AA meetings but eventually dropped out when he met Mr. Danvers (Kol's dad) who he began going on drinking binges with. It's difficult living with old memories
After 8th grade graduation, dad and Laurel bought the house that his mom used to own in the same town I was born and raised in. So, here I am. Enrollment day at Arrowsmith High. Not too excited for school, especially high school of all things, but it is the high school I would have gone to had my mom still been around. I was more excited to see old faces, than anything. I don't want to be labeled as 'the girl who lost her mom', anymore. I want to make a name for myself, here. I want to place on the Freshman softball team, land a place in the AVID program for next year, and maybe join a club or two, as well. I don't want to stand out, so much, as I want to just kind of.. exist among the masses. Share some time and space but not get in people's way. Follow my own path and maybe make some decent friends and memories along the way.

I stand tall for my age, at 6'2 and weigh roughly 196 lbs. A bit chunkier than I'd like to be, but whatever. My dark hair extends down past my ears, hanging freely. The color of my eyes is a soft grey, and turn hazel when I cry. When I get upset, they darken and almost seem to turn black. I've got a nice, long, jagged scar on my left forearm from when I was just 12 years old where my bone punctured through my skin. Fell off my horse for the first time and busted my arm open. That was fun. Oh, and another scar that has since dropped down into my left eyebrow from when I was 2 years old. I was at a baby sitter's house at the time, and thought it'd be cool to pretend to be Superman. I climbed up onto the dining room table, and jumped out onto the tile flooring, slitting my forehead open. My mom, when she came rushing to come get me, had thought I was dead. She constantly reminds me of the scare any time she catches a glimpse of the scar.

I'm a people-pleaser. I’ll do just about anything for anyone, even if they’ve done me wrong. In my opinion, I'm quite a natural leader.. although I’d rather be a team player, most times. Being the team lead isn’t that difficult for me to become. I can have quite the temper, though. Rub me the wrong way, too far, and you’ll catch a glimpse of my 'Mr. Hyde'. I've got, what seems like a quiet and reclusive demeanor at first, but really I just like to stay quiet and watch everything from afar. I have this rule that papa passed down to me, ‘Nothing ever gets done right when you do or say something without sitting back to think on it first.. never done anyone any amount of good.’ For my age, I'm wise beyond my years and most definitely independent, or so I've been told.. Must have been brought up due to the fact my father wasn't around to teach me how to be a man, so I taught myself. Growing up without a father present most times, while taking care of my baby sister while mom has been distracted by her own troubles over the years, all while trying to live as an adult trapped in a young kid’s body. As much as I don't like to, I know how to follow orders and am well-disciplined. Can thank my papa for that. With my dad absent, my papa and uncle both stepped in and became the only 'father figures' I've had in my life.

→ I tend to arrange things in a particular way. For example, all my dollar bills have to be facing forward and in increasing order in my wallet.
→ Apparently I've got a 'discomfort' with the top of any hour. I tend to set my alarm for 6:05AM instead of 6AM on the dot. Or microwave things that suggest a minute and thirty seconds at 1:35. My counselor always tells me the same thing. “The top of the hour represents a new beginning to you. It’s typical for some people. That sense of a new beginning can make you nervous, so you create tricks to try to avoid it,” he says. “Picking an offbeat time setting isn’t a harmful ritual, but it’s also not a realistic strategy. The rest of the world isn’t going to stop the top of the hour from happening.”
→ I've got a tendency to look up at the sun/moon and can easily tell what the approximate time is.
→ For some reason, matter where it is in a word, my 't's are always capitalized. I don't know why I picked that up, but I could never drop the habit of doing so. So I've just kept it.
→ When stressed or lying, I tend to talk from the corner of my mouth.

|| HOUSE DESCRIPTION ||

Our house isn't really anything to brag about. It's nice and all, but.. it just seems empty anymore. It's a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house. In the backyard we have a pool, which is nice for the summer time. Of course, out front we fly an American flag in respect for all the men and women who've fought for our country, especially our grandpa and my dad. The floors of our house are wooden, the walls are covered with scattered pictures and a couple of mounted animal heads. One being mine, the rest my father's. I've got my first buck mounted on the wall beside the door that leads down to my basement-turned-bedroom. There's two parts to my room. One part is where my loft bed, desk, couch and dressers are. The other part, separated by two glass doors by the stairs, is my little theater/gaming room. My uncle helped me set it up.

I have a truck, but I'm not old enough to drive it yet. My grandpa got it for me for my birthday this year. It's the exact truck I've been wanting for years. It's a 1979 Chevy Silverado 4x4. 4" Rancho Suspension Lift, 3" Body Lift, 38.5" Gumbo Monster Mudders 15x12 Chrome Wheels, Diamond Plate Tool Box, 2 KC 150Watt Lights, Grill Guard, MileMarker Part-Time Kit, Warn Hubs, Dual Exhaust w/echo tips, Sunroof, Tinted Windows, Pioneer Stereo System, AirTank/Bumper Combo, and 17" Drop Hitch. Here are a few pictures, if you don't know trucks the way I do. Picture #1. Picture #2. Picture #3. I only have to wait one more year to drive her. Legally, anyway. Grandpa lets me drive it around on his ranch. With him or Uncle John in the passenger seat at all times, though. Haven't gotten to drive her by myself, yet.

|| BIOGRAPHY ||

What I'm about to say are things I don't tell to just anyone, okay? So please, don't throw it back in my face and make me regret saying anything. |Quinten takes a second, looking you dead in the eye before dropping his head as he begins to speak again.| My dad has been in the military since before I was born. I never really got to make much of a bond with him, and have spent my better years getting close with my mom. You very well may say I'm a 'momma's boy'. Two years after I was born, my sister was brought into my life. As weird as it may sound, she and I don't really fight like your 'average' brothers and sisters do. We got that out of our systems years ago. Our older brother and I used to fight a lot, but since he moved out and joined the Army, we haven't so much as talked very much.

Skylar and I are pretty much each other's best friends. We talk about anything and everything, just about. Although, she doesn't quite get the way I feel about our dad. He acknowledges me, but spends most of his time around my sister when he's home. She's smart. Genius, even. She gets all A's in her classes, except the stray B+ she got in her science class. That's one thing we both aren't too savvy with. English and History are our major favorites in school. And PE, in a sense. Depending on the sports activities they have us do.

During the summer, and weekends in the school year, I go out to my grandpa's farm and help him with the work. Branding calves, putting down the wild dogs that terrorize our livestock, and making sure anything and everything else is in order. Sometimes, if I catch Uncle John in time from picking Peter up from school, mom lets me catch a ride with him out to grandpa's farm on school nights. My mom hasn't been very happy lately. She doesn't say it, but you can see it in her eyes. The way they don't light up the way they used to, or the way her smile doesn't fully reach to her ears the way it did when she was truly happy. Even when dad comes home, she's not her usual self. As much as I try to help, it's nice to get out from the funk hanging around our house. It's a heavy weight on my chest that's hard to shake, anymore. The house is way too quiet, these days.

On days when the weight becomes unbearable and I have to escape for a while, I talk to Uncle John and grandpa in search of help. Me being 'the man of the house' while dad's away, it's basically my responsibility to make sure everything in our house is right. These days, I've been having trouble doing what's right. Over the summer, my mom caught me smoking for the first time with my Junior High buddy, Mark, and she really took off on me. I'm currently grounded. Probably will be for the rest of my life. Guess it's a good thing I didn't care too much for the cigg.

I act out every now and then. As much as I'd like to deny it, I know it's true. How could I not? My mom insisted I go talk with the counselor once a week. There's no avoiding it. This is my life, and I've got to deal with it. This year, I hope to get my grades back on track. Last year they weren't so good. I want to get into Choir, Drama or Band. I think I'd feel at home among the people in those classes. I've never really been one to fit in. Only ever had one or two really good friends. Since moving to a new school, I have to make all brand new friends. Guess that's another goal of mine. Making a new friend this year, besides my English teacher. I mean, if my English teacher was the only friend I made this year, that would be sorta depressing.

This is my backpack for this year. It's just a tactical sling pack.
On my person, you can usually find me carrying around my Yamaha APX 7A acoustic electric guitar in its hard case. The guitar is a deep forest green, itself.
I've got the responsibility of taking care of 5 animals in the house. 3, technically 4 of which are mine. My dogs Jack (6 y.o. Corgi) and Bagheera (2 ^1/2 y.o. black Pit Bull Terrier), stallion Brego (4 ^1/2 y.o) and colt Cisco (5 m.o.). I also take care of the mare that bred with Brego. It's only temporary. We will be returning her to grandpa's friend soon. Cisco is almost ready to wean. Another month, maybe. My sister also has this cat of hers that hangs around me every now and then. It's name is Marley. We don't know how old he is, but from what I know about cats, he looks like a Maine Coon? The shelter said his tail got amputated when they rescued him cause he got ran over and broke it, and the shelter vet thought it be best just to cut it off all together. Not much of a cat person, honestly, but Marley is the coolest and most chill cat you'll ever meet! We've had him for about 7 years now, so he's getting up there in age.

Had Denali not recognized the voice, Denali might have jumped out of his skin and turned on the being advancing on his hind quarters. But in fact, Denali did recognize the voice which caused him to turn and look down at Robyn with a big, wolfy grin. "A very good morning to you as well, Robyn. I was about to run the perimeter and do a border check. Just feels like a nice morning to get out for a run. No one else was up, so I figured I'd make the run myself. What kind of Alpha would I be if I asked my pack to do things I wouldn't do, ya know?" Denali took quite a few steps before realizing he neglected to invite her along. Stopping in his tracks, Denali looked to Robyn with one ear bent back slightly in a goofy, lopsided look. "You're more than welcome to join in on the festivities, if you'd like. It won't take very long." Denali could sense the fae was ever-so-slightly uneasy around him, and he couldn't blame her. From the way the previous Alpha 'took care' of his pack, he wouldn't put it past any of the pack, especially the faes, to be a bit uneasy of the new one. Denali mentally took note that he needed to spend more time individually with his pack mates. As close in age as the two wolves were, they didn't have much of a friendship at all. Denali began to mentally recall the past years that they'd grown up in the same pack together, and all the interactions they'd had, no matter how short lived.

Shadow managed to catch the scent of a ground squirrel and followed the trail till it lead her to a small, dried up riverbed where the very vermin was kicking up the dirt in search of something. Slinking low to the ground, Shadow slowly crept further and further until suddenly, SNAP!, a twig breaks beneath her paw. 'Rookie mistake,' Shadow thought to herself. She'd been far too focused on wanting to sooth her grumbling stomach to even be aware of the things littering the ground beneath her. The squirrel's head snapped up to spot Shadow and immediately took off with Shadow in a quick pursuit behind the it. Poor thing didn't stand a chance. As soon as the chase had commenced, it was over with a quick snap of the teeth around the squirrel's little neck. Shadow trotted back towards the den with the animal hanging freely from her mouth, swaying it from side to side like a pup who'd made its first kill. Shadow didn't care, she was just happy to put something on her empty stomach. Slowly breaking her way through the clearing just in sight of the den, Shadow stops dead in her tracks when she sees Nigrum laying at the entrance of it. Shadow tucks her tail closer to her legs and walks forward slowly with a slight dip in her shoulders, assuming the submissive position as she approaches her Alpha. Softly, Shadow talks around the squirrel in her mouth, "Morning." Shadow eyed the animal in her mouth then glanced back at Nigrum, ducking her head a little lower as she began to wag the tip of her tail slightly. "Hungry, at all?" The squirrel could potentially satisfy the both of them till they got more from the hunt to follow everyone waking, but she was willing to give up the whole thing to her Alpha. Shadow was a 'good soldier' when it came to following under her Alpha's rule. New or not, Shadow had come to have much respect for Nigrum. He was already proving his worth as Alpha, and Shadow wasn't the only one in the pack who could see it in him.
