Updoot will come around the weekend (maybe). Sorry for the delay!
@Rune_Alchemist

Let me know if I couldn't give Nick the stuff indicated in my post.

Nick listened intently on Viorel's explanation. The zombies came gradually but steadily, and soon came an entity that slaughtered the people in each house. A cold shiver went through Nick. He thought he and Elisette would only be dealing with some zombies and a witch.

Speaking of the witch, apparently she was once a resident and... that was pretty much it. Nick would have to ask the survivors for anymore details. As for supplies and armaments, there were some that Nick could use.

Then he was pulled aside by his warrior woman companion.

“...I don’t trust these two. Move into town shortly before things get bad? And what’s with the zombies keeping people in? That seems pretty weird to me. I'll ask around...you uh, stay cute and don't get into trouble, kay? I'll be here so just shout if something jumps ya."
Elisette

Nick let out a heavy sigh. It had been at the back of his mind, that Viorel and Cynthia may not be who they said they were. The village's undead problem only forming a border was also strange. "Yeah, we should probably be wary even here. Anyway, I'll continue being cute over here then. I'll come find you if anything comes up.

Rummaging through the church for equipment, Nick helped himself to a hunting knife whose owner was long gone as well as a torch and a lantern. Nick emptied the lamp of its oil into a flask that was also ownerless. When push comes to shove, Nick would need something to 'shove' with.

Once that was done, Nick noticed the 'maid' Cynthia sweeping the floors of the church. He felt she was someone he would need to meet, seeing her dress in his vision and all, so he approached. "Hi there. You're Cynthia, right? I suppose even in dire times like these, things still have to be neat and tidy, no?"

"It is hard to believe that such a small weapon can be so powerful. These... 'Ortusians'... They aren't dangerous, are they?"
Freyr

"Of course not! I mean, look at Reed! He's from Ortus! Does he look dangerous?" Haley was the one who replied, pointing at the distant knight with a wing. Realizing that a warrior like Reed may not be the example, she cleared her throat. "Okay, maybe he does. But, but my point is: They're just human, like... every other human." She shrugged. "The only reason everyone sees them weird is 'cause the Order's at war with them. The only major human kingdom to be doing so."

"It's a bit more complicated than that..." Sir Reed had finished talking to the rescued captive who went on his merry way. "A long story short: Before the Great Change, Ortus was cut off from the rest of humanity for a long time before Ortus' founder, Argus of Candor, defeated the monster tribes and clans blocking contact between Ortus and the Order. By the time that happened though, our cultures were vastly different from each other which lead to tensions." Sir Reed finished. "The rest is history. After the Great Change, I guess the Order decided to deal with us Ortusians once and for all."

"Tsk, blasted Ortusian..." Bart turned around to head inside the guild with everyone else. But the remark earned a surprised look from Haley and a more... physical reaction from Reed.

A mailed hand on the shoulder stopped the guild master, courtesy of a ticked off Reed. "Have you a problem with Ortusians, guildmaster Bart?" He said, a tone of tranquil fury.

Bart shook off the hand and faced the Ortusian. "So what if I do? What're you gonna do? Hit me? In front of everyone?" The raised voices and commotion had probably attracted everyone else's attention. It appeared no one would be having dinner anytime soon.

Sir Reed glanced at everyone in the Guild present. "...Mayhaps I have chosen the wrong place and wrong company to find my enlightenment."

"Bart! What in the gods' name do you think you're doing?" Haley yelled in disbelief but could not stop the standoff.

Happy birthday to your grandma!

“Inside. Quickly. We do not want to have the barrier down after nightfall.”

Nick and Elisette were let inside the shelter by a blonde man with very, long hair and wore the black robes of a typical priest. Nick spotted a strange insignia on the robes, one that looked like a flower or a skull or both. An amethyst necklace hung around his neck, while his eyes were ruby in color.

“Apologies for the cold reception, understandably we’ve had it a bit hard here.”

Within the church were the apparent survivors of the village, still alive but in miserable conditions. Nick could only wonder how long they were like this. As they went further inside though, Nick was greeted by the presence of a figure that made his eyes widen. There was a girl there wearing a dark blue-and-white maid dress, albeit a more fantastical and... flashy version and not the kind found in Earth, cosplay notwithstanding. But more importantly, it was the maid dress that Nick found in his vision.

She had a black blindfold on but her head followed the group as they entered, and Nick was watching her the entire time. Questions floating in his head the entire time.

“Viorel. Just a traveling scholar who happened to stumble upon this village in its hour of need. Cynthia over there is my traveling companion. I thank the apostles for coming this far. I doubt I can do much more than keep the barrier over the door up. The people here need food and a warm bed, but...well, we’re all out of those. Unfortunately we can’t leave either. Those undead out there...whoever is commanding them is quite the character. They won’t follow into the city - they just stop people from leaving, and anyone from wandering in.”
Viorel

“Woah woah, hold up, you’re telling me someone is commanding those undead?”
Elisette

“That’s right. The people say its a witch that lives in those nearby woods, but I’m just a scholar.”
Viorel

“So...we just gotta smash this witch and the undead will be gone, then, huh? Seems simple enough. Probably some underworld cult or something huh...Uh, what are you gonna do Nick? I don’t mind if you tag along but well, erm...”
Elisette

Nick scratched the back of his head. It would be the smarter decision to just hang back and let Elisette deal with the problem, but Nick was still worried about the warrior woman. Besides, he didn't feel right sitting this out. "Uhh, I think I'll be coming with. You'll need to find where the witch is in the woods, right? And I have a knack for finding things." Nick made his decision.

"Uhh, but before we go, can we take a minute or two to catch our breaths? We did just get chased in the snow just earlier." Nick was indeed tired but he just wanted to ask around some more. Taking a glance at the surviving townsfolk, he turned back to Viorel. "How long has Liven been like this? When did those zombies start coming?" He asked before getting the idea of at least arming himself. "I'm guessing the town guards are all gone. Do you have any remaining weapons for defense here?"

Looking at the maid named Cynthia, Nick pointed a thumb at her. "And don't you think it's a little... impolite to have a blind person as your servant?" He doubted that Cynthia was incapable, but Nick wanted to coax out some information.
Gon' delay the update to the weekend (or next week) to give more time for others to post. :D

"Don't we have guests? I swear I heard the sound of armored boots..."
Freyr

"I just...heard more footsteps and thought there'll be more guests."
Yang Bethlehem

"Wha-...Bart!?"
Kira Gigas

"W-What? There's no one else besides me." Bart declared. If he was lying, he was a pretty good one. He betrayed no signs of deception to the guild members. "You guys must be hearing things. 'Cause I was outside and I didn't hear anything. Again, I came alone." He reiterated. "Is that why you were all gathered here? Well, I commend the vigilance but please don't jump at shadows."

The ones looking around the area would find nothing. No trace of any metal boots save for the sound it made earlier. Were the guild members really just jumping at nothing? Or were there secrets darting around the Guild's eyes?

"Between his mad ramblings, he mentioned his name was Samuel Cubbage. Unfortunately, he got swept by river when he entered it to wash himself. We tried to save him but we weren't able to. We don't know if he managed to survived the waterfall. We did get something for our troubles, but I wanted to ask you to see if you knew something about this 'Samuel Cubbage'..."
Freyr

"Oh dear. Well, I'm glad you two made it out of the quest safely." Bart offered sympathy before thinking about the name given. "Samuel Cubbage? Hmm... Nope, never heard of the guy. But if he was carrying a gun, then he's much richer than he looked and acted. Not even your regular noble can get their hands on one since they're mostly made in Ortus. And not many people go there, with the war going on and Ortusians being... weird people." Haley raised an eyebrow at the last comment.

"Anyway, I'm glad you weren't swept away with the guy or get shot by his gun. I heard they REALLY hurt."

"But for our jobs, me and Kira finished ours without much fuss. Also we had some earlier guest of monster girls consistent of mices and insects. It seems they're freeloading from us."
Yang Bethlehem

Bart's eyes narrowed, suspicious of Yang. "Without much fuss, huh?" But then he heard of the mice and insect monster girls freeloading and his attention fully turned to that. "Wait, what?! Freeloaders? Those monsters usually come in groups! Where are they?!" The guild master panicked. Lots of things ran in his mind as he comprehended the news laid out by the monk.

"Calm down, they're long gone." Haley waved him off. "Vivian and Sylvia did... something and they left without trouble."

"Oh." Bart indeed calmed down. "Well, all's well that ends well, right? Looks like some of us are tuckered out for the night, though." He watched Ditzy head inside, exhausted and covered in dirt. "Why don't we head inside and have dinner? Then we can call it a night."
Hey all!

I'm sorry to say this but I'll be tapping out of this RP 'cause I've got waaay too much on my table and I'm having trouble handling all of them.

Have fun y'all!
Hey all, I'm swamped by work and projects right now so I can't really write. Update will come this weekend and give more time for others to post.
