Anise looked surprised at Amelia telling her that she wasn’t being inflexible only wanting to raise one type, and then gave numerous examples of such individuals. Over time as Amelia spoke, Anise started smiling.

‘Yeah. Yeah!’ she said, looking determined all of a sudden. ‘That’s it. I can raise the kind of Pokémon I want to raise! It’s fine to have weaknesses! I’ll just figure out how to overcome my weaknesses, WITHOUT going against my beliefs!’ Anise raised her clenched fists, gritting her teeth from sheer determination. ‘Watch me, Landorus! I’m gonna take you down, all with a team that I built, for myself, with MY ideals!’ she called, and her Pokémon called out with her, looking quite happy with this decision.

Amelia pointed out she had a non-fighting-type right there. ‘Ah, yeah. He’s…’ Anise smiled a bit as Zigzagoon made a happy noise and pressed himself against Amelia’s hand. ‘He’s a special exception. I’m not really bringing him for fighting…’ she said, tilting her head a little to look at her little buddy. ‘But maybe you could do something, too?’

‘Zag!’ Zigzagoon happily called out back to her. Anise smiled to him, then turned to Amelia again.

‘Thank you, Amelia. I think that’s what I needed to hear.’

With that said, they then headed to the Berry Garden. Basil spoke to the receptionist…

‘Oh, I’ve never seen such a berry… Let me call one of our experts!’ she said, and then dashed off. Eventually she returned, accompanied by an Aroma Lady, with a living berry walking on two leg-things with a green stem extending from its head and another, smaller berry growing on that one.

Pokédex Entry #420 – Cherubi, the Cherry Pokémon. It stores nutrients for its evolution in the smaller ball, which makes it really tasty and other Pokémon try to eat it. When the smaller ball shrivels, it’s a sign Cherubi will soon evolve. It is attracted to honey. In harsh sunlight, it becomes red.

‘Hello~! I’m Heather. I’ve been told you have an odd-looking berry?’ the lady asked, and assuming the berry was presented to her… ‘Oh, that is…’ she said, walking forward and inspecting it, and the Cherubi underneath also skipped to stare from below. ‘… That… is not a berry I know. And believe me, I know a lot of berries. In fact, I would have claimed I knew all of them… until this moment. Interesting,’ she said, with a gentle smile on her lips.

‘So, are you going to plant it?’ Heather asked. ‘No berry is truly fulfilled until it has been planted in soil. I’m excited to see what kind of a tree will grow from this. I’m willing to donate a plot and a Mulch of your choice, given the circumstances,’ she said, definitely looking like she was containing her excitement under her ladylike grace.

Amelia went and inspected a nearby berry plant… when a happy head suddenly stuck out towards her from the little tree. There was a monkey in the tree.

Said monkey dropped down onto the ground, grabbed a Pecha Berry with the hand on its tail, and then ran off using the other berry plants as cover.

Pokédex Entry #190 – Aipom, the Long Tail Pokémon. It lives atop tall trees. Their long tail is very strong and strong enough to throw its own body-mass. They jump from tree to tree, hang from branches using their tail and pick berries with it. Because of overreliance on their tail, its actual arms are weak and very clumsy.

This is Stillwood Village, the most relaxing place imaginable, it’s people in touch with nature and wishing the best to all those who come to their cozy and ancient little home.

Wild Grass Pokémon freely wander the streets, spreading their spores into the air which the townspeople actively walk through every single day. They are all smiles, very helpful, the entire village and all visitors afflicted by the relaxing sensations brought by the spores during their stay in Stillwood Village. However, these spores are the reason quite a few avoid Stillwood Village, arguing that it messes with one’s mind. It is extremely rare that a member of Stillwood Village moves out of the village, after all. It will also quickly become evident just how little the members of the village care about the world at large, all their worries gone by the relaxing spores and just continue living, no troubles in the slightest.

Anise recoiled a little when Amelia brought up that Landorus was a flying-type. She grimaced a bit as she detailed the things to keep in mind.

‘Yeah, that’s…’ Anise muttered, glancing over at Basil who clearly had a similar reaction to Amelia’s outlining. ‘That’s what I was grumbling about,’ she admitted, then frowned as she crossed her arms. ‘Becoming stronger is already part of my plan. Perhaps if I can prove my strength to Landorus he’ll be more willing to listen. Now, I know my Fighting-types aren’t the best suited to handle a Flying-type… or three of them if all of them become involved…’ but then, her eyes opened and it was like a fire lit in them. ‘But seriously, look at me!’

She then spun and faced sideways from Amelia and Basil, bending her knees and raising her fists in a stance. Responding to her energy, Mienfoo, Froakie and Meditite jumped to stand next to her both assuming the exact same stance. Riolu was a newer addition to Anise’s party and as such wasn’t in on the procedure yet, and Zigzagoon was busy running circles around them.

‘Fighting’s in my blood!’ Anise punched forward twice, and Mienfoo, Meditite and Froakie did the same in perfect sync. ‘I’m a disciple of the Fighting-type Gym!’ she said as she and her Pokémon kicked up into the air in sync. ‘I’ll do a way better job training Fighting-type Pokémon…’ Anise jumped into the air and made a spinning kick into the air in front of her, and the Meditite, Mienfoo and Froakie all did the same. ‘… than any other kind of Pokémon!’ she declared, as she landed on both her legs, and then put her fists to the sides as she breathed out, while her Pokémon did the same. Including the frog, which looked a little silly trying to mimic the human motions, and also definitely looked like he was worried she’d realize he wasn’t a Fighting-type.

‘… So, anyway…’ Anise said. ‘I’m currently pondering if I’m being too inflexible not to try to adapt to the problem, and it would be a failure as a Pokémon Trainer not to get a more flexible team…’ she relaxed her stance and sighed. ‘… or if doing so would be the easy way out, that doing so would mean lacking the determination and discipline to solve things the way I’ve been taught, and that I’d have failed as Hector’s disciple.’

That part aside. Anise otherwise stayed silent as they talked about what to do with the powerful Pokémon Basil had with him.

‘Yeah, I’m ready to head out,’ Anise simply said about that. Ready to potentially head to the Berry Garden and see what happens.

If they do so

They made their way towards the Berry Garden. They found a large garden, placed tactically in a single spot in Stillwood Village where some sun broke through a small patch in the sky of treetops. A forest of berry trees growing in various stages of development crowded the garden. Numerous trainers were walking about the garden, tending their items, and each little spot had a nametag. There were a decent amount of free spots. There was a reception and a store by the entrance, and a woman there happily waved the party over.

‘Welcome to our Berry Garden! Here, we let trainers rent some soft soil to plant their berries! It’s 300P to rent a spot for eight berries for a single harvest. You’re all new here, right? Then please, take these!’ she said, and then positively showered them in berries.

You’re then free to pick the berries and keep them, or plant more berries! If you simply replant berries, we’re more than happy to just count it as the same harvesting season~!’

‘Feel free to buy Mulch! They have a variety of effects on your plants.
Growth Mulch makes the berries grow much faster.
Damp Mulch makes the berries grow slower, but you no longer need to water them.
Stable Mulch makes the berries stay on indefinitely so you don’t have to worry about not returning in time to pick them.
Gooey Mulch makes new plants grow in place should your old ones wither.
Boost Mulch increases the taste and effect of the berries grown.
Rich Mulch makes the plants hold more berries.
Surprise Mulch makes the plant mutate into a new kind of plant, you don’t know what kind of berries you’ll get!
Lastly, there’s Amaze Mulch, which does all of the above! You can decide if you want it with the Surprise Mulch effect or not when you buy it~’

And that was a lot. Of course, the receptionist didn’t yet know that this was a visit with some other purpose in mind.

Anise looked a little surprised at Basil’s talking about her as a bodyguard. Anise took a deep breath, looking like she was focusing away some exasperation, raising a hand to rub between her eyes a little before looking towards him once again. ‘… That was a joke. The bodyguard thing… was a joke. I was poking fun at you,’ she explained, very simply. Note that Anise had delivered said joke with the exact same cadence as anything else she says. Then he explained the rest, and…

‘Right. Yeah, sounds like you’ve got an unusual Pokémon on your hands. I definitely would ask your professor about it, or so. Still, with Stillwood Village being the most peaceful place on the continent, more or less, I think we might be pretty safe here, at least,’ Anise said. Meanwhile, her Pokémon had gotten bored and were now playing around chasing each other around her, like Mienfoo jumping for the Meditite that then just floated up in the air above it, and then Riolu tried to do a sneaky jump at it from behind.

Basil suggested she stay and catch Amelia up while Basil look for clues. He got another confused look from her.

‘But, I was going to head there, too? Besides, I can explain on the way. Or right now. It’s not that much. Or maybe it is. I guess I better get started. I could explain as we walk,’ Anise took a deep breath, and then looked to Amelia.

If she wants to listen

‘So, what happened… Basically, once upon a time there was what was referred to as “a beast of rain” that rampaged. It was calmed, but it could one day appear again. There’s a prophecy passed down where I come from. “When the Strong One is reflected in the shrine’s mirror, the beasts will revert to their true form, and nature will be calmed”. This refers to a special mirror hidden in the Abandoned Shrine. I was trying to identify what the prophecy was referring to, in preparation for when the beast rampages again. So, Lorette, the Gym Leader of Highhill Town, sent me Basil here so we could figure out some things together.

Long story short, we tracked some clues and found there was a hidden shrine in the caves by Rainrock City. It was behind a wall that could only be passed by the light of the mirror. In there we found the legendary Pokémon, Landorus, who gave the full story in full. Apparently, once upon a time a hurricane was approaching Highhill Town, and someone prayed at the Silent Shrine for safety. Something answered, and called upon three beasts that together quelled the storm. As thanks, each was given a shrine to reside in. They’re apparently the reason it rains around Route 3 all the time. But, these two the brothers of Landorus, will eventually rampage again.

So, apparently Lorette asked us to bring Landorus back to Deepforest Shrine so he could deal with his brothers, but she was very cryptic about it, so Landorus escaped after giving us two of these berries,’ Anise said, lifting up an unknown orange berry identified by their inventories as Abundance Berry. ‘My mission is now to hunt down Landorus and bring him back. In order to do that, I need to become stronger. But before any of that, me and Basil agreed to meet again here in Stillwood Village so that we could ask about the berries we were given.’

‘Do you have any questions? Do you want to head with us to the Berry Garden?’ Anise asked.

‘You forgot your hypothetical question, Basil,’ she just blankly stated. ‘If that is what happened, then I suggest you don’t keep it to yourself. The Gym Leaders and the various police…’ Yes, police exist in this world. ‘… can and will help out if asked. We could ask if there’s someone missing their Pokémon, too. Wild Pokémon usually don’t reach that high a level… Perhaps your Professor might be able to analyze the Pokémon to find out more about it, or something?’ she said, then narrowed her eyes at Basil.

‘What did you manage to get yourself into? Do you need a bodyguard?’ she asked, looking a bit astounded.

‘Phew! That went better than I thought!’ the nurse said, looking honestly impressed with how well it had worked. ‘Do come back if there’s any, um, unexpected side-effects,’ she said, looking just the slightest concerned towards Amelia before seeing them off.

They then found and attracted the attention of Anise, who blinked a little at being called by Basil first. She was quickly onto her feet with a respectful nod, her earlier concerned expression going away.

‘Basil. I’m glad you-’ she started, then immediately halted when she realized how he looked. ‘What in the world happened to you?’ she instead asked with a concerned frown. ‘But yeah, everything’s fine.’

Basil explained the bit about Amelia, and Anise now turned to look at the young girl, looking a little curiously at her. ‘Hello, Amelia. I’m Anise, and as mentioned, I am Hector’s disciple. Nice to meet you, too. You’re a long way from Witchpeak, huh,’ she said with a nod. Of her Pokémon, Froakie looked up at her in concern, Meditite gave a gentle smile and a wave, Mienfoo gave a happy little cry, Riolu copied his trained and gave a polite nod, while Zigzagoon stared up blankly at her before skipping forward to smell at her shoes. Probably looking for something to steal.

‘… Tell me if he’s bothering you,’ Anise said about the very curious Zigzagoon.

‘Right. I told my family and Hector that I would depart on this trip. My goal is to find Landorus again, prove myself to him, and bring him to the others,’ she said, then glanced down at her team, who also gave concerned looks back. ‘... Though, in case it becomes a fight, either against him or the others, I’ve become conscious of the fact that perhaps I’m specializing in the wrong type,’ she mumbled a little quieter, seeing how those were all flying Pokémon. Probably.

‘That aside. We came here to see if we could find out more about these berries. That was the case, right?’ Anise asked Basil but also glanced down at Amelia. ‘Have you told her what happened?’

The buildings are built around or in the trees of wood and stone, the light shining onto the village stifled by the great trees above. In the air, meeting your nose as soon as you tread into the village, is filled to the brim with the smell of forest and spores. It’s a wild smell, but somehow it is extremely relaxing and any worries seem to be stifled before the calming village ahead where everyone is always so calm and happy, wild Pokémon walking freely on the roads of the place. This is Stillwood Village, the most relaxing place imaginable, it’s people in touch with nature and wishing the best to all those who come to their cozy and ancient little home.

Wild Grass Pokémon freely wander the streets, spreading their spores into the air which the townspeople actively walk through every single day. They are all smiles, very helpful, the entire village and all visitors afflicted by the relaxing sensations brought by the spores during their stay in Stillwood Village. However, these spores are the reason quite a few avoid Stillwood Village, arguing that it messes with one’s mind. It is extremely rare that a member of Stillwood Village moves out of the village, after all. It will also quickly become evident just how little the members of the village care about the world at large, all their worries gone by the relaxing spores and just continue living, no troubles in the slightest.

Raremine Town is a moderately large, bright town on the edge of the only desert in Isson. By some twist, the largest mineral deposits in the land is located right under the desert, making it an attractive place to build mines. From that, Raremine Town naturally sprung into being as a merchant town on the edge of habitability from where the mineral could then be delivered to the rest of Isson. The temperature is hot, sun blazing down on this land where plains slowly become desert, the atmosphere dry and unfriendly… yet, life and trees blossoms among the buildings of Raremine Town.

The ground is still the grass from the Vast Plains, with buildings on top of them. The modern houses stand tall with plenty of architectural skill put into them, tools for building and living sold inside the houses. Everywhere, one can see workers walking about, but they’re happy workers, with their families living close at hand in the town and with the finest equipment available. Oh, and of course, plenty of Pokémon that assist with the finding of ores and such! The trees, which appear to have been planted and grown all over town by the residents themselves, gives plenty of homes for local Pokémon to live.

Overall, it’s busy, with people walking and talking all over, an active town indeed.

6.9. Warehouses. Because the things they mine here needs somewhere to be stored. This includes Ancient Pokémon, apparently, as some of the warehouses are pens.
6.10. Team Amethyst Base. Claire had been there once, she could find it again.
7. Familiar Faces: Vivia, Cathia, Florrie. Vivia’s still around, I don’t entirely remember when the two of you split up, but yeah. Besides that, there’s also Claire and Dawkin, both of them exiting town towards Stalford’s Ferry. There’s also Cathia, who is going to come out of the same lab somewhat slower. Somewhere in town is also Florrie, if you want to run into her.

… And then on to back to the “Gym”, which really was just the exit out to Route 7. He crossed the desert to get back to where he was previously… only to find something he might not have been expecting. It was probably hidden before, but not far from where he’d previously been, there was a very, VERY localized sandstorm. It was taking place on an encircled flat area of sand, and within it, two people were facing each other. Of course, Skylar couldn’t actually see what was going on in there. However, just as he came close…

‘Hahahaha! Well, what do you know? You did it!’ Kristy chuckled as she returned her last Pokémon, and also moved her goggles as she did. The sandstorm slowly cleared, revealing who it was that had been fighting the Gym Leader. A dark-haired girl in a white outfit and wearing glasses, looking absolutely stunned at the scene before her.

‘I… I did it…?’ she asked, and promptly collapsed onto her knees, panting a bit. ‘… Oh, my goodness… Goomy, you’re the absolute- You did it! We won…!’ she fell forward and embraced a damaged-looking slimeball dragon that still gave out a victorious cry. ‘Gooooooooooom…!’

Pokédex Entry #704 – Goomy, the Soft Tissue Pokémon. Known as the “weakest Dragon-Pokémon”. As it’s composed mostly of water it lives in damp, shady places so its body doesn’t dry out. It’s covered by a slimy, slippery membrane that makes attack slide off harmlessly, but they’re very sensitive so touching it is like a shock to it, leaving it unable to move.

‘Hehehe… Didn’t I see the two of you together earlier? Wanna share your victory?’ Kristy asked, her gaze trailing to the approaching Skylar.

‘Huh?’ Vivia made a confused little noise, looking over towards him. ‘Oh! Skylar! I! I won!’ she said, sounding absolutely amazed that she did. ‘It came down to my last Pokémon… but Goomy pulled it off…!’

‘Yeah, haha. You’re on your way to getting pretty strong, I think. That was some trick you just pulled…’ Kristy chuckled, before turning her attention to Skylar. ‘Well. I assume you’re here to make this a double feature? Your friend here kind of solved the Gym Puzzle for you, but, heh,’ Kristy gave a smirk to him. ‘Do you want to fight me, too?’ she asked, putting one hand on her hip, smirking, and holding out a Pokéball towards him.

Of all the places in Isson, Stillwood Village was perhaps the place where you were the least likely to get accosted for being carried by a Drifloon. Everyone here’s so calm and relaxed, even if there was a situation they’d be so sure it’d resolve itself peacefully. It was probably fiiiiine. There was surely just something they didn’t know… and they were right.

Basil did his little demonstration with the Deino that he’d caught, so for Amelia…

Pokédex Entry #633 – Deino, the Irate Pokémon. Usually found nesting deep in a cave. Deinos cannot see, and their first instinct upon encountering anything is biting and eating it. Approaching them carelessly is dangerous. It is said a trainer will be covered in wounds before a Deino has warmed up to them enough to not automatically bite.

‘Wait, you want me to treat a human!!?? I, uh, I don’t know if I’m qualified for this!’ the nurse suddenly panicked. This had never happened before! Probably!

The nurse would indeed do her best to patch Amelia up. Fortunately, it wasn’t something super bad, so after using some strangely effective items she could probably get up and walk again. On the way in, though, they might have seen someone else.

On the right side of the Pokémon Center, a young red-haired that most probably would figure as being a Battle Girl was sitting on the floor, staring at her group of five Pokémon. In front of her sat a little blue frog, an onion-headed yoga-creature, a martial-arts inclined mustelid, a small blue bipedal canine and a fuzzy raccoon dog. She looked them over, especially her three Fighting-types… and then sighed.

‘I know I’m a disciple of a Fighting-type Gym Leader… but maybe I should try to make a slightly more balanced team if I’m to actually make my journey? But you’re all my friends…’ she said, hanging her head a little, pondering the little conundrum while her Pokémon were tilting their heads and making small worried cries more worried about their trainer being in a mildly distressed state than anything about wondering about their places in the team.

So they made their way over towards Route 5. Keeping off the beaten path also let them avoid anyone who might get disturbed by Amelia being held aloft by a Pokémon literally known for kidnapping kids. Still, it didn’t take that much effort to get around Lakewatch Town and then onto Route 5.

Route 5

Just as Stillwood Village is the least visited settlement in Isson, Route 5 is among the least travelled routes on Isson main landmass. The route is a steady incline from Lakewatch Town to Stillwood Village, with some elements of the base of Mt. Chill nearby, the waters of Dragon Lake next to it too, sporadic forest from that surrounding Stillwood Village and some of the plain elements from route 6 as well, along with a very traveller-friendly road makes Route 5 perhaps one of the most naturally stunning routes of Isson. There are no roads for asphalt here, only travellers are explorers seeking or exiting Lakewatch Town for some reason, as well as Pokémon trainers on their journeys.

A peaceful route without any real dangers, it still offers a lot of variation. Walk on the west side by the waters of Dragon Lake to potentially encounter some Pokémon of the lake. Walk by the mountains on the east and perhaps feel some of the radiating cold of the range of Mt. Chill to perhaps see some more mountainous Pokémon or maybe an ice Pokémon that stumbled out of their caves. The route is a bit cold, attributed perhaps best to the proximity to the Frozen Cavern, and it gets colder the closer the mountain you go. Multiple rivers run down from the mountains, part of Mt. Chill that melts, but efficient wooden bridges help passage over. And of course, patches of forest here and there.

The south of Route 5 opens up towards what people call the Vast Plains, or simply Route 6. There parts of the Endless Forest spread out to make things a bit more covered in trees, but as soon as you leave this forest, all you’ll see is plains as far as you can see, and that’d be Route 6. On the other side of the route is the forest that covers Stillwood Village, you need to enter the forest to get to the village. At the middle by the lake is Lakewatch Town, resting a bit above Dragon Lake. And, of course, the passage up to the Frozen Cavern lies up that hill, for those who want to brave the range that leads towards the enclosed and frozen Route 9 on the other side.

Endless Forest. To the south, a dark forest looms. There are no indications as to why you’d ever want to go there.

Pokédex Entry #406 – Budew, the Bud Pokémon. It is sensitive to changing temperature. In winter it closes its bud and endures, while in summer it blooms and releases its pollen. This pollen is mildly poisonous and can cause harsh sneezing. It lives near clear ponds.

Pokédex Entry #315 – Roselia, the Thorn Pokémon. It’s flowers release a scent known to cause extreme relaxation, the scent being stronger the healthier it is. Attempting to pick the flowers will result in it defending itself with its highly poisonous thorns, which it can launch as projectiles. It is drawn towards nutritious waters.

Pokédex Entry #285 – Shroomish, the Mushroom Pokémon. It lives deep in dark, damp forest where it eats the composted soil and fallen leaves. By day it remains still in the forest shade, by night it moves to eat. If it detects danger, it can spout highly toxic spores from the top of its head, strong enough to make trees wilt.

Pokédex Entry #187 – Hoppip, the Cottonweed Pokémon. Known to drift on winds, Hoppip is known to clutch to others of its kind to not be separated or to prevent being blown away. It is so light, even the gentlest breeze can lift it. When Hoppips gather, it is said spring is on the way.

Pokédex Entry #188 – Skiploom, the Cottonweed Pokémon. The flower on its head reacts to temperature and opens more the warmer it is, it is sometimes used as a thermometer. The petals absorb sunlight, in sunshine it floats into the air to get closer to the sun, while in rain the flower closes and it hides under trees.

Pokédex Entry #43 – Oddish, the Weed Pokémon. During the day, Oddish finds nutrient-rich soil to sleep in and absorbs, specially preferring cold soil. When touched by the moonlight, it then pulls itself up and starts wandering, spreading its pollen and looking for a new place to sleep. If it is pulled up by an aggressor during the day, it shrieks out loudly.

When it feels calm and secure its smell isn’t that bad, however if endangered the smell it releases in defense can get so bad it can be smelled from over a mile away. It drools out a sweet nectar that it uses to attract prey, but the nectar also smells bad.

6.7. Treehouse Arena. Even forest-people want to battle it out sometimes. Lots of berries as prices~
6.8. Ancient Woods. An older part of the forest. Dangerous, but said to hold a link to the past. There are large old rocks here. What more could they hold?
7. Stillwood Village Trades: Grass-type
7.1. ‘I got this little Bounsweet, but I keep being attacked by birds! Please, trade me a Geodude for it? Rocks should be strong against birds!’
7.2. ‘I actually only got this Gossifleur to lure trainers into trading me what I really want… I want a Spoink. Please, get me a Spoink.’
7.3. ‘This is a Capsakid. I got it because I heard it was gonna have two heads. It doesn’t. I’d trade it for a Doduo? I like two heads.’

Skylar decided it was a good idea to flee from the giant man-eating sandcastle that was visibly angry at him. Probably a good idea. The Pallosand cramped up and sent an enormous amount of power straight down into the sand beneath is, sending a massive Bulldoze sending a spray of sand off all around it…!

But at that point Skylar was already hightailing out of the range of the attack, and Paradise lifted the surprised man straight over the sand-wave that carried off beneath them. With that, the sand-ghosts chose not to follow, and they were home free.

‘That was a good escape. Well done. Perhaps you’d have it in you to join the…’ the man said, before looking at Skylar and perhaps noticing something about him. ‘… Well, maybe I’ll return in a couple years,’ he concluded. Then Skylar had his realization, and…

‘Oh. Darcie’s my daughter,’ he then said. ‘I’m Dad… to her, anyway. It seems she has tried to contact me. I was waiting for her to return from Witchpeak City, but I was distracted by a report that someone had stolen ghosts from the pirates. I managed to catch one of them…’ he said, holding up and opening a Pokéball, and a little sand-ghost manifested at their feet.

‘Sandy?’ the little ghost asked.

‘… but all of them became a bit too much. I will report it to Darcie, after I get her. I suppose that means I am crossing with the ferry. Will you be coming?’ the man asked Skylar.

So, what will Skylar be doing?

Stalford’s Ferry

Route 16 is one of the most dangerous routes on Isson, but there’s a way around. There’s the ship, Stalford’s Ferry, that looks nothing like a regular ship. While normal ships often find themselves in danger trying to sail Route 16, Stalford’s Ferry is a fortress of a ship and has proven time and time again to be a reliable way to cross to the Northern Landmass and Witchpeak City.

The mighty vessel can also keep you occupied as you’re sailing. You can attempt to fish out the open windows, you can find other trainers and keep yourself occupied while the vessel cruises to its destination, or perhaps simply attempt to enjoy the scenery… not that there’s much to see.

However, occasionally the ship does come under attack, and for that reason trainers are expected to be able to defend themselves, which is also why you’re required to have collected Kristy’s Gym Badge in Raremine Town to prove that you’re capable of doing just that.

One way trip is 500P.

The Sand Tomb missed, and Paradise dropped off Skylar and Owlfred before getting back into the conflict. She unleashed a storm of Razor Leaves, the sharp leaves surging through the mass of sentient sandcastles, doing damage to every single one of them! And… Two of them were critically hit! Those two Sandygasts fainted, the little sand-dunes flopping over!

That, apparently, was enough.

‘Sandyyyyyyyy-!’ the Sandygasts cried out as they turned sand-tail and fled, shuffling away from Paradise and Skylar’s team. With that, the man who was being forced to pile sand on a Sandygast suddenly stumbled over from nothing, before grabbing his cello-case, dusted himself off, and then stood up to look towards Skylar.

‘It would seem that I have been rescued. Thank you,’ said the man, gently bowing towards Skylar. ‘Now may I suggest we-’

‘PALOOOOOOOOOOOO-!’ the giant sandcastle behind him screamed out, turning towards them, apparently agitated by the fleeing little Sandygasts coming to take cover behind the evolved Pokémon, the very sand around the Pokémon starting to vibrate with power.

‘- escape in all due haste?’ the man ended his sentence.

The Digletts gave happy little cries, and the Geodudes mumbled something (probably their name) while being a bit too proud-to-be-rough Pokémon to show outward happiness but nonetheless gave a little wave and good-bye sounds as she threw out the Escape Rope. It stuck to something unseen, and before she knew it Amelia was pulled along with it and found herself arriving outside the cave, a Teleport move or something attached to the rope allowing her to be transported outside. She was now at the top of a little hill with a view over Lakewatch Town below as she sent the message. It was indeed not a Geodude, Graveler or otherwise that she sat on.

Meanwhile, Basil had his stunned reaction to the Gothita he’d “captured” and the following group of people of around six people that had come looking for some “her” around here. Quickly figuring he’d need to get out of here, he did just that after sending a message to Amelia.

He’d make his way out of town and up the hill, finding Amelia sitting on a rock outside the cave.

So, they’re currently not in Wet Caverns, and they’re not in Lakewatch Town. So, they’re somewhere in between.

‘Diglett!’ the Digletts happily announced, looking like proud little tiny moles sticking out of the ground for having helped Amelia with her request. They then proceeded to watch as she turned to the Sableye…

Sableye was gnawing and nibbling on the Rock Gem as Amelia sat down to talk to it. It’s eyes focused on her for the duration of the speech, the two gems for eyes unmoving as she spoke. That said, as she concluded what she said, she might see the Sableye turning its eyes towards Amelia’s bag, where she’d put the gems in.

Amelia turned her attention to her Pokédex, seeing Basil’s response and then typed a reply. When she looked back up.

‘Sable,’ the Sableye was all of a sudden right next to her, staring up at her intently while holding up pointing at the bag. As in, can I have some more?

Under the assumption of yes

‘Sableye!’ the ghost announced, because this totally beat being forced to do races for gems all day.

Wet Caverns

Wet Caverns

The Wet Caverns, known so for the sheer amount of water drenching the contents. It’s a large series of tunnels with no real large open rooms, dividing itself up into a fairly simple maze going from one side to the other. The water inside the tunnels thankfully lit up the contents due to some shining mineral in the liquid, giving rise to a mildly lit set of tunnels. Many people prefer not to travel through the Wet Caverns due to them being long and easy to get lost in, in addition to the large amounts of hostile Pokémon which might attack at any time. Yet, here you are…

Still. There are those who travel through it on a regular basis. Those who have learned the trick finds it a fairly easy shortcut between Lakewatch Town and Pureplain City. For enthusiasts there are always the options of delving deeper into the caverns, fishing or surfing to find out what kind of Pokémon might inhabit the depths and the shallow rivers that flow along the underground corridors. It is known to be fairly diverse when it comes to the Pokémon inhabiting it, giving trainers both water- and cave Pokémon to pick from when they want to catch something.

2. Train Pokémon. With this command, we can jump ahead in time and skip posting about grinding.

Gothita didn’t actually step off his shadow. She just stared at him, expecting another song. Though perhaps if he suggested that she’d get a better view from in front of him, it’d work better. Regardless, he picked up his mandolin and played for the little Pokémon.

Basil played for the excited Gothita. And with that, he got the Psychic type’s eyes to stay fully widened and her little mouth to hang as she wiggled a tiny little dance to the song. Definitely appreciating the song-choice, somehow upping and style just from the language alone. He definitely got more attention than just the Pokémon, but as far as opinions that mattered, that Pokémon absolutely loved it.

‘Thia!’ the little Pokémon clapped happily with its tiny little arms as Basil finished, and his attention went to the Pokédex and then sent that message. He then addressed the little Pokémon, who looked up at him curiously as if she didn’t seem to understand what he was talking about. But, then he offered her the Pokéball.

Gothita took a moment. She then looked over towards the right, somewhere…

‘Gothita!’ she then said, and willingly hit the center of the Pokéball, letting herself be absorbed into it.

A couple moments later, there was suddenly a bit of a commotion. And what that entailed was that there was a group of people that were coming running through the street. They looked serious, and while they were dressed like normal people they didn’t particularly strike as normal. They stopped practically right in front of Basil, but were not looking for him, instead looking around like searching for something. The one in the lead spun around to address one of those following him.

‘Didn’t you say you saw her around here?’
‘I did! She was around here, I know it!’
‘There’s no way any of the trainers around here would be able to capture her.’
‘If she engaged in a battle, we’d have heard it from a mile away.’
‘Grrr! Spread out! Look for her!’

With that, they ran in various directions, searching for something, and didn’t give Basil a second look.

Lakewatch Town

Lakewatch Town

As one looks upon Lakewatch, it is clear it was once built by the side of the water. Yet, over time, Dragon Lake has actually increased in volume, the water-level rising and swallowing the town. Then the natural conclusion would be to move the town back, follow the water-level, and rebuild at the new shore, right? That, does not appear to have been the thought that went through the minds of the designers of this Town, which is essentially placed out in the water on top of older buildings, the streets of the town flooded in water and to get around one has to make use of their many canoes or get on the back of a Pokémon.

The town of Lakewatch rises fairly high for its size, and vegetation grows pretty freely around the buildings. Most buildings and streets have white floating cobblestone to walk on either side of the streets, with a river of water flowing in the middle. People here are highly accustomed to this, and the streets are constantly bustling with people heading back and forth, as well as people actually gliding down from the higher buildings from the roofs above using strange little paragliders. It appears people live in the higher floors, while business takes place on ground/water-level. There are canoes basically everywhere that anyone’s free to borrow, townspeople commonly jumping down on a canoe, using the force of the jump to drift it to the other side and then simply jump off.

Now, anyone could hear from the name that Lakewatch Town is the town that basically rules the Dragon Lake. The Lakewatchers are a group of people that regularly patrol the waters, and become friends with the dragons that live there. Tours by the Lakewatchers are the primary tourist attraction of the place, along with the fish that is procured from the same lake, and guides are trained to show the way in any surrounding areas. Their boats are also those who trade with the western side through Highhill, keeping the place alive and busy. Plus, there’s always the rumors of treasure or otherwise hiding deep in Flooded Lakewatch, and Descent Tower looms in the middle of town for those hoping to explore… but who really knows? It’s a nice and different place, definitely.

6.8. Descent Tower. A tower in the middle of town, with stairs down to Flooded Lakewatch. Come prepared for the underwater.
