Bio

Welcome to my Bio, random person. Yeah, my name is pretty redundant (Polaris - North Star, North... well north.)

Things you need to know about me?

I live in the Philippines. I'm a student and life gets a bit hectic so please understand if I suddenly become more sporadic when it comes to replies.

I'm involved in a lot of fandoms (mostly anime) and as long as it gets my interest, I'll join. My range is from free to casual [or well, as long as I can get it from the post I'm replying to]. I'm more of a fantasy kid than a slice of life but I think I can join something like that. I'm not much of a romance writer so I keep myself to PG-13 and not exceed anything else.

Lea had reviewed it multiple times— patients and staff as well as the cell blocks she never got reports from anymore. It was as if they had all just disappeared. It didn't take a genius to guess what had happened to them. They were likely eliminated for some unknown reason. Multiple blocks had already gone dark and the medical staff was getting more and more short-staffed by the day. They were dropping like flies and no one could tell her exactly what was happening.

The Warden had disappeared without a single alert. The Captain had decided to go into isolation within the bridge with a few, select crew members. Lea hadn't received anything from them ever since. Lea had lingered around the entrance to the bridge multiple times but after a warning, she stopped. Any attempts she had in contacting the bridge had been severed. It would have been nice if they at least contacted the other department heads before making any drastic changes in their routine. But nothing. The Draught Sentinels remained in their silent vigil and Lea could feel it— whenever something went wrong in the ship, they knew what was happening.

The Alcatraz was a prison for anyone on the ship. Lea just had the privilege of being able to walk around instead of being behind bars.

She pressed her fingers against the bridge of her nose, letting out a frustrated sigh. Less and less of her medical crew were willing to be sent out to another block, fearing that they would be the next ones to disappear without a trace. However, they needed to make sure that the prisoners were healthy. It was just reports of the prisoners coughing and she sent over a team to check up on them. Routine. Then they went dark. Then the next. Then the next. It all started with the damn, fucking coughing and they were no closer to knowing what exactly is happening.

As Lea leaned back on her chair, the intercom crackled to life. She sprung back, leaning over to listen to the message that was coming through.

"Lea, it's Felix. I don't have much time to talk, but I'm on my way up there with a few prisoners. It's an emergen-"

"Felix? Felix, what's..."

There was no way she could respond to him as the connection was severed, the silence of the intercom felt like looming dread. She stood up from her position, the wheeled chair sliding behind her. Prisoners? He didn't have the authority to let them out as an engineer. But if there was one thing that she had learned over the past years about Felix, it was that he wouldn't do such a thing without reason. With how quickly their transmission had been cut off, she could theorize that this had something to do with the Sentinels. She eyed the door warily as if expecting them to burst out and apprehend her for her communications with Felix. A few seconds passed by and nothing happened. Instead, the thundering footsteps of the Sentinels were rushing down the hallway, undoubtedly heading towards the site where Felix was. She opened her door and watched them pass by.

That was too many for a small group of prisoners. Did Felix break out more?

Lea could speculate all she wanted but she had to know what the emergency was. As long as the group made it to her office, then they could discuss whatever was happening to the ship. If they could make it there at least. They could be coming from two different sides— the area where the Sentinels had just marched through or through the use of the tram. Was it even still operational? Probably. She grabbed the emergency handgun that was provided to her in case of emergencies like this. She thought of proceeding to meet them at the tram but it might be too suspicious for her to leave, especially if their communication had been tampered with. So she settled back in her chair, waiting with bated breath until the Sentinels finally left her area.
I'll work on a CS soon!

And I agree, I feel like money would be fun to play around and them having to ration what money they've scrounged up to make sure all of them get to have pokeballs and stuff.
Sinnoh sounds good to me!
Looks interesting, count me in! Seeing as no one is going for the Pokedex, I could pick up on it if you guys need it?

Kaito's observation didn't put Hiroko at ease. An old regional variant of Japanese? Sure, she supposed that was a possibility and why she could read these, but the moment simply felt too odd. Too... out of place. It just wouldn't make sense. Still, she buried whatever feeling she got deep into her brain to be thought of later when they were in a much safer location.

"Looks like no one's been taking care of these guys for a while." She voiced out her thoughts from before to respond to Kaito. "But moving forward is our only option so..." She gestured for them to continue walking and just as she was about to disappear further into the darkness, Kaito and their other friend seemed to have exchanged introductions.

She slowed down to a stop, turning around to watch and listen to the interaction. Ohta. Right, with his outfit, it was almost immediately obvious that he was some form of office worker. It would seem that he was a rather professional one. Still, Hiroko didn't say anything as she turned back to the path before them, trying to squint through the darkness if she could see anything.

Hiroko buried herself deeper in her coat, expecting more thunder to come when it didn't. It even seemed like the storm disappeared just like that. Still, she figured that they should be careful and still seek shelter just in case it does pour. She doubted it would be safe to proceed through a mountain when it's raining and the ground is unstable. One slip would be all it takes for them to meet an untimely demise. Maybe she was being a little pessimistic about their survival chances the longer they stay in the forest, but then again there's nothing wrong with being wary.

The statues were interesting, to say the least, and inscriptions were written on them. At first, she couldn't even understand what was written and she brought her hand up to rub her eyes a bit. Suddenly, it did make sense. Was she hit in the head and made her have trouble reading something? Or was there something wrong with her eyesight? Or did she actually just manage to understand a completely new language in less than a minute? But that was impossible... wasn't it?

This forest might actually be turning her crazy from overthinking.

"Statues like these must mean they're essentially protecting an area, right? So there's probably something for us ahead, at the very least." Thinking that there would be people there would be too optimistic though. These statues didn't look like they've been touched, let alone cleaned in a long time. She looked down the path, darkness clouding anything beyond what their flashlights could reach. The idea of continuing down a path they were unsure of made her queasy but it didn't look like they had much of a choice.
I'M ALIVE lmao

I was just drowning in Genshin yesterday but yes I am still here LMAO

Hiroko rolled her shoulders, uneasily breathing in the heavier air. She knew this feeling— soon enough, it would start raining and they would need to start running for shelter. Preferably somewhere safe but was there anywhere safe in this area? Hopefully. Still, when she had looked up, the night sky was eerily clear. The boom of thunder echoed around them but she couldn't tell if it was close or not. She bit back a sigh, hoping that they were mistaken. Hoping that there was no storm that would pour some torrential rain on them while they're out in the wilderness.

"I never thought I'd ever find myself in a surprise hike." She huffed out, squinting her eyes through the darkness to see the two figures in the distance. No structures yet, unfortunately. The path seemed to stretch infinitely before them and Hiroko thought back to what she could have done to make the universe want to put her into this kind of situation.

They had kept moving, Hiroko alert as something seemed to move in the darkness. Hopefully, it was just an animal that got spooked by their presence during the night. Hopefully, not the kind of animal that would have them for a late dinner. The statues came closer and bigger and more distinguishable. Hiroko looked back at the two of them when they talked about the gunner who had fled into the night.

"Yeah. I'd rather not confront him at all. The only thing I've been taught when it comes to people holding guns is to just give them what they want." Hiroko lifted her shoulders in a shrug. Thankfully, she hadn't exactly had to deal with that in the entirety of her career. "Let's just keep going. I'm sure we'll hear him before we see him." If he had been that noisy earlier, maybe they can play it to their advantage.

Idly she observed the warrior statues as they came closer, wondering if they looked familiar at all. Maybe it'll give her a general idea of what place in the country they were at.

The gunner bolted past them and ran through the torii and disappeared from their sight thanks to the darkness around them. She let out a ragged breath. First, waking up in some unknown forest and next being held at gunpoint? How could this possibly get any worst? Still, the threat was gone and maybe they could properly recollect their thoughts this time. At the very least, the other two were cooperative - maybe it was because they understood that right now, their best bet was staying with each other... even if none of them particularly knew each other.

Kaito, perhaps in an act of empathy or harboring the same thoughts as her, called out to the gunner but he was already long gone. Hiroko wondered if there were any animals that were attracted to the commotion. Hopefully not, she wasn't carrying any tools with her that would serve as any sort of defense mechanism.

"Yeah, that way is our best bet." Hiroko sighed. As much as she also didn't want to follow the agitated man, they did have little choice in the matter. "Hopefully, he already made some distance. I just want to get out of here..." She looked between the two of them before moving forward to take the lead. Hopefully, that'll ease both of them to a more comfortable state. They needed a little more trust between them after all.
