The contract 'Raid on Lifah' can be taken up by anyone in the Free Cities of Maleah. The more the better, as it's a tough one. Will try and get the last city up by tonight.
Aeldun lies on a small peninsula across the bay from the Mouth of the Imla River, the longest river in the Kingdom of Naramunz. A long fortified harbor dominates the cities seaside districts, where merchants unload goods from as far away as Lothelonni. Tall masted triremes are moored safely in the artificial harbor. Smaller vessels are scattered in between. From the formidable fortress ship Prospero, the city council of merchants and corsairs rule. The ship has not sailed in twenty years, but it's iron banded hull is in perfect condition, permanently moored in the city harbor. With five decks of fighting platforms, and a handful of dwarven forged cannon on-board, the city is well guarded...

The sandy shores of Ramor are filled with fisherman, merchants and trading vessels at anchor. A handful of corsair ships are hauled up for repairs in the drydocks. The famous Ramor Lighthouse stands alone on an artificial island some miles off the coast, a beacon for trade ships unfamiliar with the deceptive Innish Sea tides and channels. Back on shore, the city council tends to the affairs of the city from their rocky citadel, Bastion Breakwater. Hundreds of merchant banners hang from the battlements, testament to the number of men represented at council-in truth only a dozen or so truly powerful families hold sway over Ramor, and with it a piece of the Free Cities of Maleah...

The city of Argac was taken from the Dominion of Malaph Kar during the Great Old Wars. Although partially destroyed during that conquest, the city has risen from the ashes, and become a stable and thriving trade fortress on the frontier of the Free Cities. The monstrous population, although tolerated in certain districts, is still heavily prejudiced. The gladiators in the arena are mostly goblin and orcish criminals, with the odd ogre thrown in for good measure. The cruel governor of Argac, a distant relative of the Baphan ruling families relishes mortal combat, and perpetuates the raids and dissonance between the Free Cities and the Dominion-but it is reciprocal. The hordes of Malaph Kar often ransack and burn the outlying villages near Argac...

Do we wait to learn the outcomes of the contact before writing RP in the IC thread? or can we begin the RP now? Since we are each Role Playing as individuals separate from the other characters, as opposed to traditional RPs, is there a need to wait for other players to post? or is multiple posts from the same author acceptable?
You tell me which contracts you wish to pursue. In about two weeks I post the results. In between you may role play anything you wish. Write dialogue between your mercs, back story, world-wide whatever I will fish for plot hooks in your posts as well as things I've already set in motion. Post as much or little as you wish.
The first half of the first turn is posted. (I still need to tackle the free cities of Maleah). I should mention that you may take any number of contracts per turn, but be careful of spreading yourself too thin. Upkeep costs come out after the next update.
EDIT: @Rush99999@Mardox@Murtox I'm going to lump your cities together (You will still have 10-15 bounties to choose from) to complete this turns update orders. Let's assume the Free Cities of Maleah are a much smaller country than the other territories.
EDIT2: Reputation requirements will all be 0 for the first turn.
NPCs: Big Bad Grig, Kelmet the Sorcerer, Yirig Scarmoon, Margoz the Ugly,
The city of Eredz is the product of centuries of cultural intermingling. Once a Baphan outpost, then later a Dwarven Stronghold, taken by the Mighty Kar, destroyed, abandoned, rebuilt, then re-conquered. It is a weird amalgamation of cyclopean sandstone towers, orcish longhouses, geometric dwarven pillars and Baphan city grid planning. Below the city itself are the main quarters for Malaph Kar's governors-The cruel Orc Warrior Big Bad Grig, a Half-Orc Sorcerer named Kelmet and his slave companions, and the Goblin Priestess Yirig Scarmoon.

NPCS: Ben Sutherland, The Sorcerer Bargle, Crazy Tuck, Edgar Wiretooth
The well fortified city of Eaton lies next to a deep river, down stream from Castle Raxas itself. It is prosperous, well armed and supplied and is home to a few notable merchant families. The Sutherlands, (having some historic influence in the county-thus the name of the province) a merchant clan from the mountains, have dominated the wool and linen market for decades. Whether it is the nature of the cities geographical location o some odd quirk of the natural ebb and flow of life, Eaton is also home to some colorful characters..
1.
...a Wanted Poster shows the likeness of a sharp-featured man, raven-black hair obscured by a cowl. Around his neck is the amulet and token of the Royal Library, Kingdom of Raxas...

Well this is certainly interesting-not so much the setting as the premise for writing. Will there be any more information on the world in the OOC thread or is a lot of it left to players? I'd like to start at the end of my characters story and try and work my way back.
Another thing I think would be interesting would be if people told the same day from their own point of view, as to say that what one person saw, another may have not see kind of thing.
Maybe write out a few significant events that everyone can agree on and go from there?
Not sure when this is starting, but might I join in the middle?
Get you in for turn two if you send me a company sheet. Any questions just shoot me a PM or ask here in the OOC.
EDIT: Looking at the workload per turn update, probably going to post updates every two weeks. Hope everyone is ok with a leisurely pace. You can roleplay as much as you wish in between of course.
@Polybius It's possible, but not in this week, and possibly not next. I have a paper due this week and I'm working on worldbuilding for my own RP.
No worries. And also not required. You guys can take and give what you want from this RP.
I enjoy worldbuilding. I will post it in the Guides and Articles section of the forum. Polybius can then post a link to it in his OP. That way it won't clutter up his OP with unnecessary information. Only those Players who wish to travel to Raxas would need to use it.
Sounds good!
Would you guys like me to post the Bounty Boards as I complete them or Post everyones altogether? I'm about halfway done. (Eaton, Eredz & Sibis in Bapha are finished.)
So @Gunther has done a really awesome thing and fleshed out the Kingdom of Raxas a lot more than I (have had time for) and he's doing an awesome job. I will add his work to the main information post when he gives me the OK. Is anyone else interested in filling in some of the world map? It need not be the country/kingdom your company resides in. Also, totally not an obligation for anyone who doesn't wish to worldbuild. I'm still working on the first turn updates.
