Here's my character :) I'm sorry, I hit the wrong tab. I didn't mean to post there. I'm tired over here, sorry lool.

Full Name: Laurel Shay Knight
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Birthday: June 21
Species: Non-mutant
Power: N/A
Coates or Townie: Coates
Personality: Hell or high water, this girl will accomplish her goal. To have someone tell her "no" only provides her more strength in her endeavors. Her tongue ensues the ability to lie, charm and persuade to her will. The glitter of mischief in her eye is almost non-stop. Her kindness and friendliness is reserved, but not wiped out. With a booming laugh, she doesn't care who stares. Her temper is quick to fire and destructive in its' nature if it's life-threatening. She appears angelic, but deep, is a soul who will cut those in her way. "I-do-what-I-want" is a common phrase of hers engraved into her soul.
Brief History: With a father in the marine corps and her mother in the army, Shay was on the go almost form day one. Born in a military hospital, she was exposed to the military life as soon as she could walk. She was home-schooled until first grade, but was moved all over the state. Her parents taught her self-defense until she became a black belt. When she was becoming a teenager, Shay learned proper gun etiquette, survival skills, and first-aid/CPR.
Her parents hoped one day she would follow in their footsteps. However, Shay's attitude wasn't suiting her parents; she was too independent for their liking. She went out and stayed out late, partied, and seemed too indecisive on excelling their legacy. Therefore, they sent her to Coates Academy to "straighten" her out.

Full Name: Peter Woodland
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Birthday: May 14th
Species: Mutant
Power: Shape-shifting and mind-reading
Coates or Townie: Townie
Personality: To live on the wild side means Peter would be sacrificing who he is as a person. Collected and patient, he enjoys helping out whenever he can. Despite his genuine nature, Peter won't hesitate to stand up for others or himself. While his temperament is tame, his ferocity is not. Some could say he has the blood of a cold-blooded killer, though others disagree.
Brief History: His father divorced his mother before he was born due to her drug addiction. This left his father to take care of his son alone. His father, Thomas, worked two jobs around the clock to care for him. Peter thus, grew up in daycare and with habitual babysitters. Over time his father became stressed out and started to drink. Unfortunately, Thomas was not a happy drunk and would become enraged. Peter suffered from this, and soon authorities caught on. He was removed from his home, father jailed, and sent to live with his aunt and uncle in Perdido Beach. He remains there, now, however, but won't speak about his family life, even after moving.
Theme Song: Stand My Ground - Within Temptation

Full Name: Chandra R. Herondale
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Birthday: July 18
Species: Mutant
Power: Weather control
Coates or Townie: Neither
Personality: To those who deserve it - Channy will be loyal. Trust comes at a price - a price one will pay if they break it. Vengeance suits her just fine, though she's prepared to dig two graves. Kindness is something rarer than a flower blossoming in winter. Once her mind is set, changing it is like pushing a truck uphill. A laugh from her bodes signs of evil or deception. One might call her twisted, but she finds herself justified. Chandra does not, will not, ever underestimate anyone, or let her disability impair her.
Brief History: From birth, it seemed as if her life were cursed. Chandra's parents' abandoned her due to her physical impairment, which was her missing her leg above the knee missing. Though the doctor's gave her a prosthetic leg, the family still refused her. A loving family adopted her, but their neighborhood wasn't the best. Her education was tough, but she became top of her class. Bullied, left out, and teased, Chandra eventually joined a gang, who accepted her for who she was inside. They taught her self-defense and more. Despite this, her involvement with them caused her to be sent to juvie twice; once for stealing and the other for hospitalizing a rival gang member. Years later, Chan's parents raised enough money to move and ended up nearby Sans Perdido Beach. They hoped it would change her, but Chandra turned for the worst - especially when she ignores her warnings to stay away from Perdido Beach.

I apologize for the time it took to complete this. I was preoccupied with life but I'm here. :)

Name: Natalie A. Hale

Personality: Loud, care-free, and outspoken, it's a wonder how Nate survives. Her tongue is quick to seduce or manipulate, even lie, to someone. Doing what she wants, when she wants, is how she operates. Her humor comes at inconvenient moments, as does her sassy remarks. There is more than meets the eye to her - perhaps genuine compassion.

Her mother then involved herself with drugs and prostitution to make a living for Nate and herself. Her "Father", Byron, was a drug addict. He didn't care for anything other than his drugs and often went o violent rampages. Home life wasn't safe for Natalie and she ended going to a foster family.
The orphanage didn't care much for her; not with her family history and was therefore neglected. Growing up unruly and unsupervised, Natalie often either found or caused trouble for her own entertainment. It wasn't always legal. Fortunately, not everything she enjoyed growing up was troublesome - she did manage to find safe hobbies. When she was older, she learned about her parent's and became curious on finding out about them. The results, well, damaged Nate beyond what people ever knew. Nobody can tell, and Nate often doesn't allow herself to think about it.

The lyric, "I'm a problem that doesn't want to be solved", describes her in a nutshell.

Xavier's gaze never drifted from the road ahead of him. The empty, cemented roads weren't comforting; they were as broken as his family. One sister had scars all over her body and severe depression; the other hide their feelings. Xavier didn't know what was worse: the depressed sister or the one burying her emotions? He sighed and gripped the steering wheel. He couldn't ponder it now he had to arrive at the new house without being in, or causing, an accident. The giggle from Rose made him turn his head nonetheless and then back to the road. Random giggles from her like this were nice to hear, but he knew she was also acting half the time.

He wasn't sure how to handle either situations. The loan from the bank for their new house was going to be hard to pay off. On top of that, he had all the bills and the girls' education to pay for. Persephone was going into her senior year, and Rose her junior. There was nobody in town he knew and much less, would trust. How would he manage all this? Just thinking about it caused his head to ache further. This wasn't something he knew how to handle. And then, back at the house, when their parents were being murdered - there was an incident. He didn't know why or how it happened, but it had and he was afraid to speak up. This had to be nothing.... There was no way it had occurred.. How could -

A car nearly smashed into him, causing him to jerk the wheel and swerve. He honked the horn in frustration and nearly yelled out the window. He reminded himself it would only startle the two, and Persephone might freak out at the unexpected shout. The drive left without a glance back. "Sorry, girls," he told them s he glanced in the mirror. Persephone looked over, acknowledging him, then away without a word. If she was or wasn't, he wouldn't know; she did not speak often. He sighed and looked over at Rose. "You alright?" He glanced away to intently stare at the road ahead of him. He was not letting anything bad happen to these girls anymore. He vowed on it. If something happened, he was going to lose it. Persephone and Rose were the only people he had left. The rest of the family had isolated them in fear of being targeted. The sympathy cards were written so fake that he couldn't fathom the

Minutes later, they arrived at the new house. Xavier sighed in relief and pulled in and parked. He opened his door and then opened the others for the girls. Then he glanced around the neighborhood and waited for the two to climb out. Once they had, he beckoned them forward as he lead them into the house. "Let me make sure it's empty first." He told them. "Wait here." He entered after unlocking the door with the key left in the mailbox. Xavier strode inside to the colonial house. To the left against the wall was a staircase leading upstairs with a white railing. The living room was on the other side of the wall, and to his right, the two separate bedrooms. Ahead was the kitchen, which he observed, was rather quaint. It was modernized, but it had an older house appeal. The wallpaper was something out of the fifty's - the people who had lived here had not taken the time to redo it. Xavier could care less how it looked, as long as it was functional. At least the girls might like the cream wallpaper with the flowers painted on it. The floor was carpeted with wood beneath it, he noticed, as it creaked when he walked forward.

Fifteen minutes later, he beckoned the two inside. "It's safe," He told them as he glanced around. A tall girl with big, curly brown hair was looking over at them curiously from down the street. She wore a taupe blouse tucked into a plaid skirt and a pair of booties. Her tie was flying aimlessly in the wind. She smiled at them warmly then entered her home. He looked away and ushered the girls inside then shut the door.
A market in Frankford, New Jersey
10:15 AM

The market before him lay more barren than the desert of Arizona. Drake found himself cursing fluently in his mind's eye, scowling all the while. Why did the damn Wolves destroy this area? He hated the group so much; everyone was suffering, and they had to take everything for themselves? He grunted and kicked over a piece of wood. It shattered into tiny pieces and scattered across the ground. Useless, worthless... Was there anything left in this damn world to live for? Drake often pondered the question, then had to remind himself that his family was out there. He had to find them and make sure they were okay. But where did he start? Drake had no idea. It puzzled him and drove him insane.

He glanced around the market and sighed once more. Mentally, he began counting his supplies; he had Chef Boyarde's ravioli, small bags of chips, fruit cups, and a few cereal bars. Nothing was exactly health,y but he didn't care; food was food now. It had to last him a month or two as well. The impulse to scarf it down was overwhelming. He sighed, glanced around once more. The sound of gunfire echoed in the background, but soon died out. If he didn't hear it at least once a day, then it meant something was wrong. The gun tucked tightly in his belt was something Drake checked for daily.

Up ahead, he spotted a truck. Drake jogged over and echoed into his bag and handed the guy a bag of Lays. "Can I have a ride?" He quizzed him. the guy beamed and took the chips, nodding. Drake sighed in relief and climbed onto the back. Soon, the the spots were filled and the driver took off. He knew to keep his head down; but the chance of seeing someone he knew was tantalizing. He looked up front; saw no-one, then looked at the back. There was a kid sitting next to a familiar looking dark haired woman. He stared, questioningly, then looked away. As the truck turned, he glanced over once more and saw the facial features. His heart began to race. Was that... Was that...?

"Adelaide?" Drake called in an undertone as to not disrupt the others. "Is that you?" He stared hopefully, though he didn't want to lose his hopes if it wasn't her. Adelaide was his best friend and one of the only people he ever missed besides his family. He missed her so much. She was his sunshine in this dark, gloomy world. She made him want to live when he found it hopeless. Drake's lips twitched upwards as he slowly made his way over from his spot nearest the windows. "I-I-I don't mean to disturb you; you just look like someone I kn-knew and I was seeing if you were here. If not, I'm sorry to disturb you." Drake sighed as he looked down at the floor of the truck. Please God, he thought, don't trick me like this.
