@alexfangtalon Civilian powers will be allowed for non-humans (yes you don't have to be human, but if not then the scope is very limited). The reason? Quite honestly... I just don't like civilian powers. They bug me. The powers should be saved for the power ranger form. The only times this doesn't bug me is when the ranger is explicitly alien or otherwise inhuman. Also, civilian powers in the show are almost always pretty... Bland and run of the mill.
@SoleAccordBoth. Some things are set in stone. Some things are going to be a private message to the mentor that says, "Your sensors pick up this new macguffin. These are the things the macguffin can do. Whatever you make out of it is up to you as long as it makes sense."
@SoleAccordOf course. Everyone will be getting power ups that the mentor is able to put together via finding more confiscated alien ranger tech, and as long as I'm doing my job right, nobody should outshine the others in terms of power-ups. There will be a battlizer, and only one, that is transferable between rangers (once you get it). Plus, a pretty nifty super mode for all rangers that will, ahem, I guess I should just say...

Let there be LIGHT!

@RennyGlad we're on the same page, then.
Oh, and another detail for those worried about the difficulty of fights. One of the primary reasons that the foot soldiers are tougher than you usually see is because the big monsters aren't going to be anywhere near as numerous, so it's to make up for that. Legitimate monster fights will basically be end of arc battles.
@SoleAccordYou know what? I think that I can come up with something... Special in regards to that. ;)

@WindsOfFateBest of luck to you. I should all all the info up in the next 1-4 days, ideally. Until then, try to keep the following in mind: Regional (read as planetary) manager, NOT the head of Galatec as a whole; controls all resources of New Earth but will sometimes have to go through red tape (damn corporations!); personally brokered the treaty between Galatec and New Earth that allowed them to take over; is subject to punishments/reviews by the Board of Directors (read as GM).
What about having a character that was originally under the shackles of slavery, then set free? (I'm so set on the 6th ranger lol)

And what are your thoughts about drugs? Would Galactec ban them, or put their weird additives in them too, but made them stronger so it's like mind control? THE IDEAS!!!

That was more or less a small part of what was going to occur for the 6th ranger, but of course I don't want to dictate too much of their background, so the player has more creative freedom there. As far as drugs... Never thought about it. At all. I probably won't touch on the topic. This may be a more mature PR, but it's still PR, hahaha.

@ProProWade, you might be waiting so long you lose interest man. Unless Pro moves up the time tables for you, it might be a few arcs before another ranger is a reality... but... I don't know, only Pro does. Pro can you nip the sixth ranger situation in the bud for him right now? I don't want Wade to end up bored waiting. Any way we can introduce his character before the idea of a sixth ranger is even considered by anyone--even the mentor?

Judging those kinds of time tables can be... Tricky. I can make estimations and promises until I'm blue in the face, but in the end it all comes down to how quickly we can move through the narrative, you know? Maybe in a week we've made enough progress due to posting madness, maybe it'll take months, I can't say until I know how often people post and how fast we get through the basics.

That negativity is a sad donkey's turd compared to the fact that you're our GM and you know what you're doing.

Uh... Thanks? Hahaha.
@alexfangtalon This has already been addressed with another potential player talking about a character that was moving up in the ranks to get training. Yes, you can fake it.
Geez, so much negativity. And I didn't even get to the part about you not starting with any zords. :P Seriously guys, don't worry that much. It's an uphill battle to be sure, and it's meant to be a big challenge, but you're liberating an entire planet that doesn't want to be liberated. Nobody said this was going to be easy. ;D

Just as the rangers' mentor will be able to steal resources from Galatec to improve them and continue the assault, the villain (who is not the top of the food chain but the "regional manager") will be subjected to corporate pressures and scrutiny from the Board of Directors (as portrayed by GM) who want more success/profit while minimizing investment. AKA the villain's not getting a whole lot in the way of support from the rest of Galatec. :P
Is this game not about fighting countless battles but actually performing calculated strikes at major points to turn the tide of the war as a whole!!?

You mean like a.... Strike force? ;)
