Current Man, I remember those last few statuses sounding funnier when I was writing them... Is this what aging does to people?

Good news, I'm not failing out of my cooking course tomorrow! Bad news, it's only because I nearly sliced a chunk off my finger practicing for it and needed stitches.

It's days like today that I truly believe this ADHD is both a blessing AND a curse.

Nah, they'll have powers if they're a candidate. They come from the brand. Normal humans powers will be somewhat weaker though, simply because they have no ancestry to pull from.

However, who's to say a resourceful human couldn't beat a candidate with a much stronger power?
@Gareth
No, they can. It's just that their powers are come specifically from their brand, or maybe any magic they've learnt depending on how they were brought up. The massive majority of human candidates will have at least some form of demonic or angelic ancestry, even if its extremely distant and forgotten.
Some humans, if they live lives where they would have access to knowledge of heaven or hell, however, they may have been able to learn magic, or even how to access their ancestral powers. The powers will still need practise to reach their full potential, like any other skill. Anyone who only gets their powers when the candidate system gives it to them will not start off with full, true control of their powers.
@DawningAurora
It looks good, but I should mention that if they're human in any way, then they won't have natural powers. They only get their powers when the candidate system picks them. You're characters have full demonic and angelic heritage, so they should be fine, but just elaborating.

Umm.... I can umm il have a look and see what happened...

It's mostly Joseph trying to make small talk while they wait, as well as helping me find a place for him to go now.
Ah, damn it. I think we posted at pretty much the exact same time there. Do you think maybe we could make it so what I posted happened just before your post?
@PrinceAlexus
"Huh, well..." Joseph said, giving a nervous scratch to the back of his head. "I'm not really good at any of this, but I'm a little worried why would happen to you if those three idiots came back and I wasn't around to draw their ire. I'll wait with you for now."

He waited for a moment, unsure of what exactly to say. Well, he assumed she probably lived in the city, so maybe she would know some nice, covered places.

"So... As much as I hate to let those morons have any more ammunition, would you happen to know a nice area in the city for me to get some sleep. I'm fine with alleys and stuff, but somewhere with a roof would be better, considering how cardboard usually tends to hold up against rain... Maybe somewhere with a gazebo or something? I wouldn't mind somewhere to finish this in peace, after all."

He shook the bottle of absinthe gently, only to notice something odd about the weight and look into it. He immediately regretted this, seeing that he had somehow finished it already.

"Well, I actually have no idea how I finished that so quickly. It's probably a bad sign though..."

He looked up after that, seeing a massive man carrying a blonde girl. When he called out to Victoria, he figured that his hunch was probably right, an pointed them out.

"Hey Snow girl, is that your sister there?"
Joseph looked up as the alarm went off, doing it just at the right moment to get a torrent of water directly in his eyes.

"Hmm, well that's not good."

Well, he still had an almost full bottle of absinthe to look forward to. He'd only really taken a few swigs, so he'd get a good few hours of alcohol from it.

He looked back down to said bottle. There was about an eighth of the alcoholic liquid left.

"Also not good." He said, as the world tilted around him. "Welp, I suppose I should probably get out of here before the fire gets me."

Putting the cap back on the bottle, he got up and stumbled, lurched, and span through the crowd, making it to the outside surprisingly quickly.

Looking down at the bottle again, he sighed.

"I suppose I should find a nice, cardboard box to finish this in..."

However, before he could wander off into the night, he saw the girl who'd bought him the drink in the first place. It looked like she wasn't exactly thriving in the cold, especially now that she had been drenched in water. Honestly, maybe it was because of what was apparently a ridiculous amount of alcohol, but he didn't even seem that nervous about approaching her.

"Hey snow girl, it looks like you aren't handling the cold too well." He said, before taking off his jacket and chucking it to her. "So, I don't know if you'll actually want it, but here. It should keep you warm, despite how torn up it looks..."

As he stood around, he began to feel a little nervous once more.

"So... We're standing out here... Just... Standing..."

He kicked a can in the ground, before lifting his bottle up to the moonlight.

"Is there a... reason... we're standing here?"
Alright, boom, here's my app!

Name: Joseph Moore

Age: 18

Appearance:

Race:
Very distant demonic nephilim, although he has no idea.

Brand:
A large hexagon, with a series of smaller hexagons inside.

Power:
His skin turns into a dark, metallic substance which can defend against a lot of damage, but is still malleable enough to him that he can move easily. At the moment though, he can only alter his hands and forearms.

Personality:
Joseph is an extremely shy person, practically unable to make friends due to a natural awkwardness. If he's not talking to a member of his immediate family, he is barely able to keep himself from running away.

Sometimes not even barely.

He has an unfortunate tendency to move without thinking though, which gets him caught up in troublesome situations more than he would like.

Bio/History:
Joseph was born to two martial arts enthusiasts, Lucas and Sarah Moore. At almost every moment of his life, he would join his parents and learn how to fight, or exercise, or... stuff he never really wanted to.

Honestly, for most of his life, he just wanted to read. Even if he couldn't make friends with other kids, he could at least imagine what it be like. Still, he also wanted to make the few people he could talk to proud, and so did his best to become a good martial artist anyway.

Unfortunately, unlike what his parents had hoped for, he never really made friends with anyone in his martial arts classes. His personality just made it too difficult for him. However, due to a combination of the classes, the exercise he did for the classes, and just a little bit of crazy genetics, Joseph grew up to be what many people would call 'built like a brick shithouse.' Some people in his high school even wondered if he was really a teenager, due to his height and early emerging facial hair. So perhaps in the end it really wasn't a surprise when students began to get nervous around him, mistaking his shyness for plain antisocial behaviour.

Now, at the age of 18, he is alone once again. However, things are about to change, turning his life upside down, all thanks to an odd little brand he found on his right hand.

Extra:
Despite not really liking it, he is very good at martial arts.

Also, he's never actually cooked properly before, but he reads cookbooks a lot.
@Gareth Basically, its a big battle royale between thousands of random individuals called 'King Candidates' from Heaven, Hell, and Earth to find a suitable ruler who can bring all three realms together. It is almost impossible for a human to be a candidate without demonic or angelic heritage, particularly those with recent heritage.
There doesn't only need to be one candidate alive at the end, as it is perfectly viable to form alliances, although said alliances must have one candidate to be the ruler, and the rest of the candidates in the alliance would be their 'court'.
Of course, that doesn't mean it won't be easier for some to just start fighting and killing every other candidate either.
Also candidates might get special powers, just so the weaker humans aren't killed immediately by demonic and angelic candidates, who would already have certain abilities.
