Current Man, I remember those last few statuses sounding funnier when I was writing them... Is this what aging does to people?

Good news, I'm not failing out of my cooking course tomorrow! Bad news, it's only because I nearly sliced a chunk off my finger practicing for it and needed stitches.

It's days like today that I truly believe this ADHD is both a blessing AND a curse.

Alright, neat! Here's my character sheet! I'll put up a picture when I find it, but I can't guarantee it won't be a horrible weeby one unless you outright say you don't want anime around these parts. Also, I kind of ended up doing it semi-in character completely by accident, so yeah, enjoy that mess.

Well, I know the male female thing is already a little unbalanced, but I was thinking about maybe bringing Joseph back to the city, having left it briefly for his training arc/timeskip. Almost every single one of his friends are no longer in the city, so it might be a little difficult to get him back in, but you know, I might still have a chance.
So, I know I got here a little too late to be part of the pre-OOC crowd, but is there still room for newbies? Also, do the characters have to be out of towners coming to investigate, or is there room for a guy who's lived in the town for at least a good half of his life?
@Lyla
Yeah, nah, I get that. I just figured the demons would be a fun way to do it. Also, sorry if I'm being annoying. I know I tend to sound like I'm acting crappy when I keep coming up with ideas for my character, and they don't fit with the GMs ideas, but I'm hoping you realise I'm not trying to be.

"Yeah!" Kai said happily as he continued towards the shrine. "I can start helping people properly again, instead of just getting beaten up all the time! It's gonna be great!"

When he reached the shrine though, he paused for a moment, trying to figure out how to open the door without dropping his giant bundle of wood. Reluctantly, he took one hand away from the pile, immediately pausing when he felt the pile shudder. However, after about a minute of very slow, careful movements, he finally managed to open it without dropping anything too big.

"Hey guys! I have superpowers!" He shouted gleefully as he walked inside. "Look at this pile! And the weedy little beanpole body! This shouldn't be physically possible!"

And then he placed all the wood beside him and sat down right in the spider free area that, unknown to him, had been the subject of a great battle of wits.
Gotta say, that's probably the first time I've gotten a decent post out within a week of the person I'm replying to in a long time. I'm gonna add it to my wall of small victories, right alongside the fact that I'm finally beginning to come up with characters who I don't think are just carbon copies of ones from anime I watched recently.

Oh. Damn. I had a great picture picked out and everything. Well, if demons do exist in this, how evil would they be? Like would they actually be evil and monstrous, or more like just youkai style spirits, with good and bad ones? Because if the second is possible, I'll probably make him prince of a civilisation that is culturally entwined with them to the point that many other countries would have considered them demons as well.

I don't know, I'm mostly trying to make a character who many would have heard to be evil, when really he was just trying to protect his people. Probably going to have him die trying as well, and then spend the time of the repeats not knowing whether the ones who defeated him continued on to destroy his people or not.
Sage

@bobert778@lavulman

"Ah..." Sage said dumbly, as his spell resulted in what could only be described as 'localised utter bedlam'. He failed to restrain the Pinurans familiar, merely panicking the poor creature, and now he'd torn up half the market place!

"I have to say, usually the results aren't quite this bad..."

Despite all this, however, he still managed to gain a small amount of satisfaction, as the woman begrudgingly told the truth about her familiar.

"Well, in spite of... all of this... I can at least rest a little bit easier knowing that I brought the truth to the forefront. Perhaps now, your friendship can grow without the burden of hidden truths restraining it."

Honestly, he probably could've stopped talking in his purposefully annoying, arrogant way of speaking by this point, but he was having too much fun with it by now to bother him. That being said, it might be about time to bring some of that sage-like humility into it, considering what he'd done.

That, and he had just caught sight of one of the scariest-looking old ladies he'd ever seem.

He listened to the armoured woman explain the situation, wincing slightly as she mentioned the Pinurans familiar. He'd just wanted to keep it from causing trouble and get her to tell the truth, not get it killed! Hell, it was kind of the main reason he didn't wait to let the order get involved! Then again, maybe this was a blessing in disguise, and could perhaps allow him to at least partially salvage this disastrous first impression with the Pinuran sage candidate and her friend.

"I'm afraid that what the young armoured woman said isn't entirely true." Sage said, turning to the elderly woman with a small, closed-eyed frown. "You see, there was no such creature under the earth here. The part about the butcher is true, but after that it is largely fabricated. The simple truth is that when I entered the city, I sensed a surprisingly high amount of spirit activity for such a built up area. When I tried to reach out to speak with them, they seemed to get slightly... over excited. As you can see, the results were less than optimal. But may I please ask that you do not punish either of these two? I don't know why they would cover for me, someone they just met, but I am very grateful to them."

And then he looked around the area, taking in the damage he'd inadvertently caused.

"Anyway, would you be so kind as to let me attempt to repair the area I damaged? Now that I've noted the change in the spirits power here, I can adjust my power to prevent another accident."

Before he finished however, he turned to Tirnea and Veronica.

"One more thing, I understand we got off on the wrong foot, and I would like to apologise for that. However, I would ask just one last, small favour of you. Would you be willing to feed my familiar Tarfal while I am locked away? He is in the forests just a little ways from town, waiting so as not to scare the villagers. And please, don't just kill him. He's fairly big, and might be wary of you at first, but he will become quite friendly if you mention my name."
@Lyla
Well, because he's a demon. Like, with horns and stuff. When I say he's just trying to protect his people, those people are demons. Or you know, at least some kind of horned people who are generally viewed as evil by humans and the other 'good' races.
@Apocalypse
Damn straight! Drifters is great!

Also, sudden new idea, all my demon princes (yes, he's just a prince now, it's complicated) artifacts are musically based, because he uses ancient songs (songs I steal from Nier) to manipulate the world around him to his benefit. For example, he has a sword which, while the edges of the blade are normal, in the middle are a series of chimes, kind of like on a tamborine, which rattle whenever he hits it against anything.
