Being truly on my own is a bit of a weird feeling. It's never really happened.

Let it never be said that sometimes extreme brevity isn't the most appropriate post, though. Everything is a tool.

Shockingly, catching the massive beast had apparently acted to calm it, and Hibiki was glad for the chance to place Sif down rather than continue to hold something that otherwise filled her vision with a wall of white fur. Of course, it was a wolf and not a person, so the seeming next step of trying to ask what it was doing became rather more difficult. But a giant wolf was kind of like a giant dog, and so the magical girl went to the next step of trying to pet it whilst its head was still within reach. Which was still something of a stretch.

"Eheheh... I thought it might be dangerous, but it seems quite well behaved? Maybe someone trained them?"

Sif was certainly an improvement on the Noise or especially the Nephilim... giant sword aside--and even that wasn't so giant compared to Tsubasa's attacks--there was nothing terribly otherworldly or nightmarish about it. Now that she could get a good look, it was a remarkably good looking beast.

If Klaus remembered Leo's last reactions in a fancy restaurant--or had noted them in the first place--then he was too polite to say anything as he began eating, thinking over his words for a minute before answering Ennis. "I would normally give an answer about how we assisted law enforcement with difficult cases but here it would be too easy to look up the details. Leonardo and I are members of Libra, an organisation for maintaining the balance between Earth and the Alter-World, but the authorities don't always appreciate our activities.

"Since we need some organisation for now that can operate independently from the UN, I went and found an appropriate site for an office. It will take longer to set up than Hellsalem's Lot, but at least this one shouldn't need to be rebuilt so regularly."

For instance, Leo would normally have invited destruction onto the restaurant with his mere presence by now, not that Klaus followed him constantly enough to notice this.

"You seemed more interesting than the soldiers," was Evangeline's excuse--though Tenshi was sidetracked by the arcade almost immediately. Not a bad place to go... she'd rather get a console or something, since arcades didn't tend to have RPGs, but she'd played plenty of arcade ports in her time. The content of the games was another thing that had changed over time... and she was frustratingly rather lacking in the height department for playing some things effectively.

She could warn the pair that arcades were designed to make you keep losing and spending money. But what would be the fun in that? She'd just explain how arcades worked. And hope that they got past the row of crane machines without breaking into one for a prize.
With another Caster, Nero was determined to not let herself be shown up; her pride simply wouldn't allow her Master to believe that he had summoned an inferior magic user! Unfortunately, that meant taking time away from complicated meal preparation... whilst being able to get fresh fish helped, and she could certainly supply fresh fruit and vegetables--including for some reason a lot of different pears--the blonde could still be overheard muttering about liquamen for some reason. Something about annoying philosopher's disapproving, but he was right that it was troublesome to make...

The result was having considerable time left over before nightfall to start praying for protection--or, from her attitude, demanding it. The result was the same, with near-invisible clay symbols left littering the ground all around the outside of the city in time for the attack. Not a targetted defence, by any means, but as the wolves and zombies came closer its indiscriminate, if steadily ablating via force of numbers, nature became clear.

Every time one of the defensive charms was triggered, a bolt of lightning would strike the creatures from above. And Nero had sown the field quite thoroughly, which would drastically lessen the chance of something slipping past the Servants to the walls. A Caster, after all, excelled on the defence.
@Eisenhorn Meanwhile I started looking up genealogical records to find correct personal names for the Nara period.

Pretty certain that name thus is more Chinese pronunciation than anything, or at least how it ended up in the Japanese imperial court at that point, but I am not a linguist. xD
Pretty clearly waiting on another application for that backstory to make the most sense. xD

@Lucius Cypher Well, yeah, the warfare skills and languages aren't particularly unexpected. It's just simultaneously having a level of skill in things that are decidedly non-courtly, militant, or noble that would require every bit as much time given to working in a forge that get a bit questionable.

Once you've made the changes, I think it should be fine?
@Lucius Cypher Sorry for the delayed response, but there are a few issues here.

#1) That backstory. It's... too randomly dark to fit the setting. Not only does it not fit, there is zero chance that anything like it would ever be mentioned or touched upon in the roleplay. So... less dragon rape cults, please?

#2) Too many unrelated skills. This isn't an RPG where all skills are piled onto one or two characters. Master of many weapons, genius linguist, smith, and a carpenter--and not at subdued levels, but on a level of everything from making a chair to architectural carpentry and advanced work on making weapons... it's too many skills for one person to have.

Plus I'm fairly certain that the jobs of the peasantry and craftsmen have never been anywhere near a knight's education.

(More for information's sake, languages are more regional than race based. And talking with orcs is pointless unless you're morally bankrupt)

#3) Can we please have an appearance out of armour? Most people take it off quite a lot.
Sir Tyaethe Radistirin

"Seizing control of the terrain before we go in? It's almost like old times," Tyaethe said, hefting her shield before turning to Indrau, "If you're confident nothing is going to overwhelm that, then I'll let you lead once we're done with the orcs. If their first big spell gets stopped and we don't need to slow..."

Still, there was one more thing to establish before they split up: some sort of signal that they were both in place. She could create a candle flame, at least--probably nothing orcs would catch if it was only for a second, but with the other pair watching out for it then returning the sign (Tiral could surely do something so simple) they could actually move in together.

Whatever the case, once that was agreed upon, the paladin split from the captain to circle around to the westward entrance. If it was just orcs, this wouldn't take long.

Lilianna Belwiss

"If you want to be a knight, then you need to work hard and act like one. Do you understand? That means doing what you're told and behaving," the white-haired knight said, not one to pass up the opportunity to make a moral lesson. Not that it was wrong; unless born with the privilege, then knighthood was something to be earned rather than merely awarded... as frustrating as that happened to be and as dangerous as it would be for someone like that to take to the battlefield.

With the gaggle of children around her, it would surely be easier for Klaus and Fleuri to answer the hat-wearing girl's request... not that this was supposed to be their duty, but it would certainly avoid any reprimands for not doing what Lilianna believed to be their current duty.
