Being truly on my own is a bit of a weird feeling. It's never really happened.

Let it never be said that sometimes extreme brevity isn't the most appropriate post, though. Everything is a tool.

So... is anybody still free to have been walked into?
Anyone in the area feel free to be the one Hanako blundered into. Or got walked into.

Either way works.
Yukimura Hanako

The mass on the floor grumbled, before shifting and resolving more clearly into the barely-awake form of a girl—one not looking forward to leaving the nice, warm futon to head off to school. Still… there was no sense in delaying the inevitable, and Hanako rose shortly after Sonya. She took a bit longer preparing for school than normal; packing away clothes and other sundry things that weren’t needed for the day ahead but would be after.

Having somewhere to stay had been nice, but…

For the first time in a while, Hanako wasn’t paying attention in class. Not because she hadn’t gotten any sleep the night before and was struggling to stay awake but because she was thinking. The Hex Night… something like that was pretty amazing, though her chances of winning it were pretty low. Even if she did, she couldn’t get her main wish, since they wouldn’t allow you to wish someone dead…

Maybe if she won, she’d just have to look shallow and ask for money.

“Yukimura. Yukimura. Please, answer the question!”

When school finished, the white-haired girl wasted no time in changing—it wasn’t hard to find an unattended room for a few minutes, and with her coat on she was a lot less concerned about the weather. Then it was time to get out like everyone else not in a club. Being a magical girl and finding out jobs willing to hire a high-schooler took up far too much time… no matter how much the art clubs wanted her to join or rejoin.

Though before she tried that again, maybe she could find somewhere else to stay… as nice as Sonya had been, it would be wrong to put her under the sort of pressure that hosting a potential enemy might cause. Hanako pulled out her phone, glancing at the corner—it was charged, but she’d still have to be careful about battery levels.

SleepingBeauty: is anyone here not taking part? i need somewhere to stay

Of course, looking at her phone meant not looking where she was going… and walking into someone. Or maybe they walked into her. She was easy enough to miss, there weren’t many people at school this short. Just that underclassman she’d passed in the corridor a few times.
This is a magical girl thing! That generally excludes pointless gratuitous permadeath!

Pointless temporary death is pretty normal, though.

Anyway

How can I make a first post meeting people when everyone at the end of their posts is god knows where? D:
... mad. This woman was mad. A sane person wouldn't try to kill an entire town just to get attention, wouldn't want to destroy an order of knights. But more than that, a sane person wouldn't dare to make that threat; wouldn't be so blind as history as to miss everything that had tried to do so before and failed.

Wouldn't have forgotten how extremely hard to kill all of the knights it was.

And you didn't negotiate with people like that. Or try to take them alive. Someone that couldn't be taken as a prisoner...

Tyaethe ignored the drider, breaking ranks with the others and being the first to run forwards with her blade held in both hands, invisibly biting down on her lip. Don't give her time to cast spells, don't give her time to target the captain, let the magic types think of how to cover that. When she was in close--then she'd just cut the woman in two. Unarmoured mages couldn't take much punishment.
Plants. The fool wanted to ask about the local plants, after taking so long getting here. That was... pointless. There were far more interesting and concerning things afoot, such as the presence of ruins within a days' walk from the guild... that nobody had ever heard about.

"Squirrels, monsieur. Ze guild is only a few miles zat way... and if you 'ave never stepped outside eet, why are you 'ere? For zat matter, why are any of us 'ere? How is it zat we 'ave never 'eard of zis place before?" the spider asked, continuing to look around at the camp, evaluating its setup, "And 'ow dare ze academy put a student in charge... as a professor I would never do such a zing."

>>*sees ring on the gun loli*

But she's just small! Even if she was a loli I couldn't adopt her so it'd be the ring. D:

She mostly wants to use me as a pillow, it's fine.

Also I should actually read Operation Cube but... details.
I like G11.

  • Name: Yukimura Hanako
  • Age: 17
  • Gender: Female
  • Appearance: Neither the most alert, nor the most well-dressed, not the least dishevelled of people. She’s short even for a Japanese girl.
  • Personality: If someone wanted to describe her in one word, it wouldn’t even remotely be a challenge: shy. Hanako isn’t someone at home with talking to strangers in any circumstance, even doing her duties as a magical girl when there’s a minimal chance of running into her.
At the same time she’s extremely close to anyone that might be called her friend—to the point that if possible, her preferred place to sleep is actually someone else’s pocket.
  • Skills: Hanako is most accomplished at… the art of falling asleep—or, at least, she’s very good at napping in seemingly-difficult situations. For instance, in school. Aside from that, she’s remarkably good at running about when not in danger of tripping over her own shoelaces, and a very talented artist.
  • Brief Backstory: Hanako hadn’t always had the healthiest life, but at least until her mother remarried it had been a pretty good one. Hanako’s relationship with her stepfather… well, that wasn’t a good one, and she ended up running away from home, a lot, and catching up on sleep in classes.
On one of these occasions a fairy decided that she had potential as a magical girl… and what was Hanako going to do, refuse that? She’d already seen the creatures they fought once or twice. If a magical creature thought that she could do something about it, then she’d fight against them; it wasn’t like she did too much else with her nights.
Since then, she’s made a few friends through her magical girl activities—quite unusually, for people whose transformations do a good job of hiding their identity—and avoided going home at all. She’s barely not failing classes.
    • Magical Girl Appearance: More confident by far.
    • Concept: Faerie
    • Archetype: Leannán Sí
    • Abilities: For the most part, despite apparently having an incomprehensibly vast array of abilities, Hanako uses exactly one: with her archetype being a fae muse, she has the ability to paint things into existence. The longer that this painting takes then the more real the resulting construction is—but the resilience and durability of a wall of arrows is rarely an important concern. Though this could conceivably allow for creating facsimiles of living things, they can only operate based on the context they’re initially painted into, and something so complicated takes forever. But if you need some sort of distraction…
Courtesy of the Faerie portion, and her own attitude, Hanako can shrink herself quite considerably—and obtain flight in either size. Though quite harmless in such a state, she can stay transformed in it for longer than might be expected.
