Being truly on my own is a bit of a weird feeling. It's never really happened.

Let it never be said that sometimes extreme brevity isn't the most appropriate post, though. Everything is a tool.

Efander

In effect, the sage was the last to approach the camp... seemingly because her every attempt to avoid the traps that the others had so effortlessly noted only set them off. Swinging logs, pitfalls, a collapsing pile of rocks... had the aim been to merely alert the bandits so they could get away, and Efander had been alone, then maybe it would have worked. As far as damage went, however, not a single of the simple traps succeeded in laying a scratch on the child. A tap here or there and the swinging log rocketed off its ropes and into a nearby tree; the collapsing rocks deflected into one another and falling in a neat pile beside her.

It was a better warm-up than the bandits themselves would have been, and a better check of her abilities to boot. Physical changes aside, it felt that nothing was amiss, and the great sage came to a halt beside Malachi.

"Sylphie is as overenthusiastic as ever..." she said, shaking her head. There was no need for another person to join in on the one-sided massacre, "I won't force the matter but after agreeing to see out the alliance's goals, going off alone would betray the trust they placed in all of us."
Tyaethe is prepared.
At the teeth remark, Tyaethe shook her head and flashed a grin of her own. Aside from showing off a remarkably nice, and definitely intact, set for someone of her age, the elongated and curved fangs were quite unmistakeable. "See, you're worrying too much about what's proper and what's not. The Iron Roses are a knightly order based on merit and not just another prestigious holding pen for noble brats, everyone expects a few rough lot to come along each time."

The girl was practically skipping backwards now as they got closer to the baths, slowly and strangely growing on the way... well, not much taller in height, but seemingly to visibly age over a matter of seconds, "Now, people are all too eager to forget this, but we've never been the best at fancy parties. The very first time the Iron Roses were invited to one...

"Well, Elly was wearing a borrowed dress too big for her, and I was the only other knight at the point. There's nowhere to go from up from a peasant girl who's never had that much fine wine around and a vampire."

At this point, they reached the baths... Tyaethe had definitely reached her adult appearance now, and looked around a few times to make sure, "It seems that the captain's already in the baths. If she's nearly done I'll let you tell her the news."

Tyaethe turned around, having caught the tail end of the conversation, and now Jarde was approaching. The apparent child took it in with interest, tilting her head to listen. A royal ball, huh? It had been a while since the knights had been invited to any of them, and it was probably due time to "politely" remind some nobles of her opinions on their interference with the knights. Maybe she could even find time to tease the princess for her mistake in the last one... mistaking the paladin for someone of her own age.

She would definitely make sure that mistake wasn't happening again.

"I think she went in the direction of the baths... it's going to be hard for you to deliver the message in that case," Tyaethe noted, looking him up and down, "Unless you're a lot more girly under all that than I expected. Come along anyway in case she's not done."

The hand seizing his and pulling wasn't hard enough to be forced, but it was pretty insistent that Jarde come along, "I don't see why you shouldn't attend, you took the message. One of those nice privileges of being the first to hear. And it's always better to bring some variety to the party... the nobles can be so boring."

Or maybe she just liked annoying them for messing with things. Walking quickly, someone else caught her eye on the way to the baths.

"Hey, Maritza, want to come to a party?"

This area... part of it seemed familiar, like they were close to what they were looking for--but there were yet more crazed hunters around a strung up version of one of those beasts. This place was continuously and unerringly horrible. But worse, some of the hunters seemed to have guns... not a problem for her, with such old guns even if a bullet hit past her guard it would probably just bounce off harmlessly. Zeke and Magilou had no such protection, and she didn't think they would be as effective as the commander at dealing with something like that. Even if they were temporarily downed by the tornado, it would be just as easy to get up and shoot...

Not that there was much that a pair of bowled-over hunters could do against a magical girl wresting the rifles from their bare hands and snapping them in two, even as Hibiki stood beside the burning pyre looking nervously at the crazed men straggling to their feet. She'd jumped right into the mess to disarm them, and if she escaped to keep looking without doing anything that would mean abandoning the other two in this crazy city.
Alkyrieaze von Einzbern

Catching up late, but not so late as to rush through the doors--not that she would have stopped for someone, just shown them some puppy-dog eyes and kept going--was the Einzbern. Dressed today in a pastel hooded jacket and shorts, she very much didn't look like the elegant lady of her forebears. The old man didn't deserve that sort of obedience and wasn't here to correct her.

With Altera and the administrator here, the prevalence of white hair and red eyes was getting quite alarming.

"Really, that I don't have access is a tragedy of itself," she grumbled, looking at the sharp teeth and wondering what was going on here, "Makiri is dead and the Tohsaka aren't here. At least one of us has detailed experience with these things. And that's the problem... something is interfering with the Command Seals."
Illyasviel von Einzbern

The pride of the Einzbern--the greatest work ever constructed by their hands, ignoring the entire fluke that had lead to the grail system in the first place--double checked her security before the other Masters came in. Such a thing should always be unnecessary given her small frame and magical ability, even without the strongest Servant... but as recent events had shown, her father was all to right to be paranoid. It might not be anywhere near the Magus Killer's armament but anybody that underestimated her alchemy was in for a nasty shock...

Though these Masters could probably be trusted to not be traitors. Probably. The Tohsaka and Edelfelt were reliable allies for the Holy Grail War and unlikely to throw themselves out of contention immediately. The other one... he didn't seem particularly threatening.

Illya waited by the entrance, with Saber just behind as a bodyguard--and wasn't it good that they had found a suit of the appropriate size? A Servant that couldn't discorporate was something quite strange altogether and finding clothes on short notice...

The lady of the manor had to greet her guests, even if they had already been staying for some time.
Yeah I'm not going anywhere, I was here for the entirety of the first version of this too.
Efander

"Now, now, don't be so hasty to let yourself take the blow, I'm sure we can break or disarm any traps. It would be a nice workout after so much inactivity before we teach the bandits a thing or two," the sage said, quite chipper about the whole affair. Dealing with bandit troubles had been one of his recurring jobs in his long life of exploration, so it was nice to get into the swing of things with something simple like that and check that the other changes hadn't done bad things to her martial skills. "Sylphie, dear, do you think we could give them a chance to surrender first?"

They never did, but it would be wrong not to. There was always the chance that someone within the group was being pressured into it, and what sort of heroes would they be if they went around beating up people that didn't want to fight?
