Being truly on my own is a bit of a weird feeling. It's never really happened.

Let it never be said that sometimes extreme brevity isn't the most appropriate post, though. Everything is a tool.

How had enemies crept up on her...? Eugh, obviously she had been paying too much attention to this argument, not to mention a helmet interfering with your hearing. One or two soldiers should have been able to creep up, given the size of their group, but this many should have been obvious no matter how stealthy they were. No force Tyaethe had ever encountered knew how to silence their own heartbeat, aside from the dead. And the dead weren't big on sneaky approaches, as a general rule.

Not that it really mattered now, the idiots had advertised their presence. Plenty of time for Tyaethe to get in position and observe how everyone else was doing here, as well as provide cover of more angles. Anyone that got through the initial line would have to deal with her, and the captain, as well as... whatever this bodyguard was able to do. This should be interesting.

@VitaVitaAR
Will post over the weekend.
"Mmm. No such thing as consecrated ground, though it is a helpful myth. A place is only as holy as the worship that goes with in. Without people, churches are just empty boxes."

I... think that's not true here? Consecrated ground does exist; it's just that... well, leave a place for long enough and something is going to profane it.

... there's an entire bath of holy water elsewhere in the world, after all, and nobody's blessing it daily. xD

"Enemies that won't surrender have to go, Mori dearest. That's just how it works; can't leave a knife at your back."

Klois, Klois... it had a ring of familiarity, but did that mean anything? It could just be a name shared with a one-time lover, or maybe some commander or opponent. No matter, who this Klois had been would no doubt reveal itself when they got out of this place. Of course, that meant getting out of here. Hm...

"So, will you show us where you came from?" Ashte asked, stepping forward towards Sir Oren. What were funeral rites even like in this time and place...? Honestly, it felt like the sort of thing Moridax should know anyway but if she didn't even know if the underworld still existed... probably not 'left in a cave with a bunch of weirdo fanatics'. Hm, for now, he wouldn't be too hard to bring along. Just slide her weapons under him like so, turn them into proper shields, and... presto! Ready-made floating conveyance for one deceased knight.
I'll post tomorrow if nobody has.
At the sound of advancing feet... and not bones, feet, Liliane's ears perked up, both daggers being drawn effortlessly in one hand as the other went to the satchel. Goblins, goblins... ah, there, one of the more painful necrotising toxins. Goblins weren't exactly the bravest, and extra agonising wounds were sure to send them scurrying even if she missed some sort of lethal blow. With their medical skill, there was a good chance infection would catch up too, even if they fled the entire area. The dark oil seeped lethargically onto the blades and then, as if caught in a rush, seemed to be sucked out of the vial and into a thin film.

Of course, she couldn't just recklessly dance through them, administering injuries left and right. That would leave Corinne exposed. But one of the encircling goblins, getting too close for the Hundi's liking, found just how fast the short girl could dart forwards and backwards, a long, burning slice down one of its arms. Predictably, chattering in its horrible tongue, that one scarpered--whether to the back of the crowd or entirely, she didn't care.

Goblins elicited none of the fear in the mage that undead did. Nervous apprehension, certainly, but already she was levelling the staff right towards their myst, scintillating light gathering as her chant built up...
I shall post... sometime over the next 24 hours!

"Naive is thinking that you can solve all problems yourself just because you're wealthy and have spies. An entire fort of soldiers are dead because your first thought is to hire mercenaries only after a theft," the vampire snapped, continuing to glare out from the helmet at the little girl. Nobles and mages, so alike in their overconfidence.

But especially the complete idiots that had thought they could ever destroy the shard. At best, they might split it into smaller shards, which would only exacerbate the problem. It was like trying to rid the world of cold.
Okay, will try and get a post up today/tomorrow.
