Being truly on my own is a bit of a weird feeling. It's never really happened.

Let it never be said that sometimes extreme brevity isn't the most appropriate post, though. Everything is a tool.

... actually, I think I should wait to see what someone else does? At least, if the scouting ahead is meant to be without tagging the priestess along.
I'll post tomorrow.
Tyaethe Radistirin

Someone still fighting with their head cut off... that wasn't something you saw every day. Definitely necromancy, but it was hard to say if it was actually illegal on the face of it? Provided that Haelstadt wasn't actually dead then it was probably an offshoot of some of the more desperate healing scenarios... but now wasn't the time to go stripping the knight to find out. It just gave her an excuse to ask for a fight after this was all done, right? A strong opponent that wouldn't be harmed even if they didn't hold back...

The paladin shook her head. Right now, the important part was ending this fight, and Haelstadt had given her an idea. Disregarding Fanilly's instruction to not take them head on, Tyaethe took deliberate steps towards the wall of spears and then threw herself at the front lines.

If their morale wasn't already wavering from the headless warrior and flanking maneuvers, she'd make sure it broke. One unkillable monster was bad enough, but two...

Just because she wanted to get hurt, didn't mean that it was going to be any easy thing. Penetrating her armour was no simple task even with a wall of spears, and it was frustratingly obvious that there was some magic at play in the vampire's strength as she pushed forwards into what should have been an impenetrably prickly thicket. The same deceptive strength came into play as her sword swung round, the figure in front of her raising a shield just in time to intercept it... but with an implausible burst of speed added on at the last second. Shield, armour, body--none of them had the resistance needed.

Of course, this finally gave someone time to locate a chink in her armour and bury a spear deep.

Excellent.

The same as with Haelstadt's unexpected decapitation, there was no cry of pain, just a triumphant look in the glimmering red eyes. One hand freed itself from Tyaethe's sword and grabbed at the spear shaft, pulling... and pulling... and pulling. In a dark battle like this, it was hard to see, but an arm shouldn't have quite that range of motion, should it? Nor should a single person be able to overpower you so...

Whatever was going on, that enemy was never going to work it out. The spear, wrenched free of its target, was similarly ripped out of their grasp and buried in their throat. That, Tyaethe thought, should surely be enough? Everyone was working at the edges, she was now in their midst, that was two people that didn't die if they were hurt...
I'll post tomorrow.
Indeed. However Martin only has a difference of nine centimeters over her default form and looks like a frail coat hanger made of tissue papers in terms of body mass.

And does not fight like a severely misplaced Dark Souls character.
Well yeah, a vampire paladin has other ways to be scary!

... even if her default appearance is "128cm and adorable".
I mean, he's not the least intimidating presence in the group when you have a short actual child around, but she makes up for it in other ways! Just... not vertically. xD

Hurrah, we have magical support now~
Ashte

"Oh, these are all new," Ashte said, looking at the various creatures as they went. Hmm, just how long had they been away for the wildlife to change this much? Or was something else at fault? It could just be a matter of distance, one might suppose, since there was no telling where they had been woken up... all these unanswered questions starting to pile up.

Of course, with a goddess of the hunt around, there was likely to be a few less of these strange grey-haired beasts wandering around in a minute. "Hungry, dear?"

Hm, hopefully they could avoid making a mess of this "cooking" business. It would be awfully embarrassing if a group of deities gave their acolyte food poisoning because of ineptitude.
"There is no payment for eradicating all the goblins, non?" Corinne wondered, looking around at the fried corpses and giving the continued impression of being just a little out of place: noble, well-dressed, and just not someone who should be surrounded by a pile of dead goblins. But even a rather incompetent Hundi couldn't look too out of place in this sort of situation.

"Maybe a second job if we tell them," Liliane stated, fastidiously cleaning off the poison and sliding the daggers carefully away, looking thoughtful, "Three if you worded it the right way."

The pouting expression on the mage's face suggested that she wasn't on board with a mercenary idea like sparing the goblins and trying to extract as many easy jobs as possible. "But if we do it now...?"

... of course, neither of them were in a position where they'd starve if jobs dried up, even if Liliane wasn't used to that. Others might have different thoughts on the matter.
@Martian Hope you're feeling better now!
