Being truly on my own is a bit of a weird feeling. It's never really happened.

Let it never be said that sometimes extreme brevity isn't the most appropriate post, though. Everything is a tool.

Overlapping on most abilities, there.

Carefully, the goddess lifted the child off of her shoulders--sitting by the fire was no doubt far more convenient--and looked up at the birds. It wasn't really her specialisation, per se, but if they were just going to lazily circle like that...

Her golden armaments pulled close and reformed into something that was undeniably a massive bow and an equally massive ammo, leaving Sir Oren lying neatly on the ground. She held them loosely, not yet drawing the weapon. "Well, if they circle down to us, then it's just a matter of driving them off, no? We have this strange deer-like animal, adding some fowl to the mix couldn't hurt."
Uh, whoops.

I'll post tomrorow.
As always, if anyone has any questions (including about information a character might know), please ask. xD
@HereComesTheSnow Ah, bad news sucks. Do whatever you need to, it's fine.

She gave a shrug at that, "I haven't met anyone that would walk around without their head on their own accord. But the best healers can pull off something like that for a little while. With proper rituals and a strong enough mage, I guess you could keep it going for longer."

And Veileena was something of a prodigy there... with all the negative attention that the daughter of a traitor tended to get for magical excellence. Still, she had the power and her family did have some history of mages in general, so if they had something like that rattling around, it wouldn't be the most surprising thing, and they were standing in holy ground without the paladin (or the knights in general) being given any signal to do something, so that ought to rule out any sort of undeath or slavery.

With enough preparation, too, magical effects that would be nearly impossible to sustain as a constant spell (or even annoying to do so) could be maintained with much less effort, even if they might still need input sometimes. Enchanted items tended to be the obvious example--it wasn't like Tyaethe's sword had gotten any heavier in the last two centuries.
As distracting as Elden Ring has been, I'll post over the weekend.
I mean, I suppose the skellington god isn't being all bones right now.
