Being truly on my own is a bit of a weird feeling. It's never really happened.

Let it never be said that sometimes extreme brevity isn't the most appropriate post, though. Everything is a tool.

Miina Malina

With nothing better to do, Miina continued to tag along with Izayoi. The flower gardens were a bit interesting, she supposed… if only for having so much more varied life than the land they'd been passing through so far. There was something about cultivated farmland that felt so dead compared to the forests and jungles she'd grown up with, and the wild areas around here weren't that much better. Probably the weather, though, she didn't think it was all because of what people were doing.

Still, they were just flowers. Very pretty but ultimately without any meaning she could understand and completely useless. Well, maybe you could make a tea or something with some of them?

The mage didn't need any of her things seen to, so it wasn't like this was more productive. Her knife was as sharp as ever – although using that in the wrong hand was making her nervous enough she hadn't tried yet – and the sword had really become more of a pointing device given the number of warriors amongst the rest of the Kirins. She doubted a random castle forge had anywhere near the resources to make it into something useful now that she couldn't use it for its intended purpose, but Miina had managed so far without a catalyst, it'd be fine.

That the smith was already drunk made her even more glad that she didn't need any work done. He'd be more likely to just break whatever it was he was given further in this state… which was bad, the others did need their equipment repaired where possible. This wouldn't be pleasant for him, but the mystral knew exactly what she could do about this – she'd never had to do it on someone else, but that probably made it all the easier.

Surreptitiously raising her good arm, Miina concentrated, gritting her teeth against the growing burning as she started to channel aether (and hopefully it'd still be a good few days more before they got in another fight) and focused on what was, well, more generally a spell to cure poisoning. She'd just only ever used it to sober up in a hurry and dodge hangovers.

Probably didn't feel great if you weren't expecting the rush of white magic but that wasn't her problem.

Miina looked up at the gates with a blank expression. Despite her lack of outward complaint over the past few days, the girl had rather shut down, showing much expression only in the form of irritation if anyone broached the topic of her arm.

As she had expected, the pain from channelling magic had reduced – not entirely gone, not yet, but sufficient that she felt it bearable to attempt healing. And that... there was no response, at all, the entire arm remaining as inert as ever. And without immediately driving herself to a splitting headache, it was quite clear that it didn't even hurt like the rest.

Concentrating on the results of the analysis through the haze of pain had been difficult, but the results were confusing. She wasn't sure what she had expected... scarification, maybe? Her entire arm (and shoulder, and even oddly some of her torso) was now covered in a weblike, sprawling pattern of scar tissue – interesting enough to look at she was considering leaving it, since it couldn't exactly impair functionality any – but that just seemed to trace the patterns underneath.

She worked it out the morning after by comparing with the healthy arm.

The nerves were just... gone. She hadn't bothered telling anyone – nothing they could do – and the theory she had for it was simple enough. It wasn't a backlash of untouched aether, it had already been fire and the elements and healing. So as the uncontrolled power had ravaged through her arm in particular, it had healed some of it... with normal tissue.

So maybe she was also shooting Galahad dirty looks occasionally. And really starting to hate gloves...

The amount of bandages wrapped around the Viera's torso made Miina wince a little. Given that Chisato needed them as much as she did on a day to day basis, it seemed that even after several days and whatever magical attention had been dug up, she was still injured. If she could do anything right now, broken bones would be straightforward, but instead…

Well, they couldn't be too bad if the girl was already up and mobile, could they? Esben would probably be able to get Eos to help some more, once Elly was healed enough to be getting about herself and the mage was pretty sure she would be able to cast again before they healed naturally…

"Umm… c-c-can you dress? I rrreaaaaally need help b-bringing food up…" It wasn't like the ninja was underdressed to her; that covered more than her casual outfits did… but she'd gotten the impression that the others would be somewhat uncomfortable being seen in so little, for whatever reason.
Miina Malina

"Umm…" Miina hung in the door, eyes flicking over at the sleeping woman and just as quickly darting away. Without being able to speed the healing along, was there even anything she could offer here? She really didn't have a good grasp on how wounds were meant to progress in a mundane fashion; the entire reason she'd learned and practised white magic was to avoid having to wait weeks for a broken bone to heal. That it was useful when working with other people was really just a surprising bonus…

But it meant her skills stopped at "check the gunner is okay". Which… well, Esben had that covered, didn't he? And for once intruding just felt really awkward.

"I'll check Ch-Chisato." And try and get food, apparently; that might take some doing when she couldn't carry it well…

With that, the redhead pushed the door closed and started working her way along the hallway. Not that there was a good idea who was staying where, maybe she should have asked?

Instead, she just started knocking the doors one by one. Hopefully, Izayoi wouldn't answer one, she'd probably be overbearing about this… or maybe annoyed that Miina hadn't held up her offer to control everything? Hard to say with her.

"I do n-n-not…" the mage spluttered, giving up and descending into frustrated half-mewling. Besides, Esben was right, it wouldn't do to go wake up anyone that was still sleeping… like, as it turned out, Elly. Which meant that she couldn't really… do anything; it was out of the question to go prodding around a healing wound to check on progress, and she couldn't analyse it magically without incapacitating herself.

Which would suck, and it'd probably make Esben mad.

Well, at least she was sleeping normally?

Now what…
Nero Claudius

"Do you forget, Praetor? I am a Caster; creating a costume to augment my natural talents is no difficulty at all," the Servant rather smugly proclaimed, hand raised to her chest – before she was offered the bread, and promptly took a bite, "Oh, this is delicious!"

Chewing the bread gave her time to bite back her almost reflexive dismissal of her Master's faith – still strange to think how that little cult had grown so much and taken over the entire empire in time, especially after how it had been treated in her time… well, no matter, her master could believe what she liked, as long as it did not interfere with their partnership. If she was happy to accommodate her religion's greatest enemy, then she wouldn't push Lucia.

Instead, she raised her hand and gave the other girl an affectionate pat, "It is only natural to feel nerves before a performance, even for an experienced musician such as myself. You are holding up admirably, given our situation."
Nero Claudius

The other blonde gave one of her usual massive smiles at her Master's words – truly, she was fortunate to get a Master so willing to indulge her. Who else could say the same? And maybe they could work out how to recreate some of the dishes of her time… many would be quite difficult, yes, it would be difficult to get mice, for instance, but some form of fish sauce to substitute for garum? There was a thought

"Disguise…" she trailed off, "Do you mean I should feign not being a Servant or obscure my identity? I cannot promise the latter for long, not if we wish to get close enough to learn anything of great import, but the latter should be of no great difficulty."

It was just another form of acting, was it not? And she was nothing if not a great artist.

"No, I doubt any of my associates are here. If Locusta were… well, that would hardly be a concern, we would have an unshakeable ally, then."

Esben was treated to the distinctly odd sight of a half frantically gesturing mage, though her face was going about as red as her hair. "I w-w-wouldn't! N-N-Not when she's v-v-v-v… injured."

Of course, it went without saying that if she was uninjured, Miina considered it perfectly fine to stare at her. Really, the only woman she didn't seem to stare at any more was Izayoi… well, not in the same way, now she just seemed faintly annoyed? Though it was still fairly obvious why that would be, given they were related but the very apparent differences between the two of them.

"I'm j-j-just worried…"
Miina Malina

If it weren't for Miina watching them as they came over, it'd seem like she hadn't noticed the fairies, not moving or reacting in any way as they played with her arm. It for all appearances seemed healthy… aside from the obvious lack of response.

"Mmm… ch-check on Elly?" She offered, scratching at her collar with the other hand, "N-N-Never got to finish healing, um…"

It should definitely be fine – especially with those two fairies going around to finish the job – but that didn't mean she wasn't at least concerned about it a bit, or seeing how things had interacted with her attempts. Not that she could do anything… right now, Miina couldn't even check that all the metal was gone.

The Mystral blinked once or twice as she nearly smacked a door into Esben. Oops, should have thought if anyone was around… well, he'd not walked straight into it either, so they were fine. And doing much…? She didn't have any obvious injuries to treat carefully, and the lingering pain was much less than if she set it off… plus it was omnipresent and disconnected from her physical activity.

She might as well do something, and take her mind off her actual problem.

Miina gave him a lopsided shrug, "T-T-Tired, b-but…"

Okay, her voice was pretty scratchy too, that had to be from screaming. It wasn't like she was much of a talker, so did it matter?

"C-C-Can't do magic rrright now, so…"
