@CriticalHit It's totally fine :) Not every post can be our best work. The most important thing is to have fun :D

Hmm, I have a theory that the characters of all the players who have dropped out of this RP had somehow gotten a peek into Manilow's shed...
Back! Has the conversation not moved since I left? Lol

Just wanna let @Kalleth, @CriticalHit and everyone else involved in the Manilow Oak Tree Incident know that I'll be away till Friday.

On another note, I figured there won't be anything on Reyes' side, so I've replaced that post with a GIF of a dancing cat and shall have him be asleep instead.

Have fun peeps! But not too much fun without me.
Shamira's eyes widened ever so slightly at the detective's offer. "Really? Why... thank you, Sir."

She curiously examined the card he had given her as he walked away. What did he mean by 'Should she find anything she can't explain'? Might he in secret, actually have known as much as she did? The card had no name, just a short metaphor and a phone number. It made it seem as if calling this number would lead to some sort of revelation. Was this even Burkley's number, or did it belong to someone else? She pocketed the card before leaving the scene, just in case she found some use for it later, or more specifically, that very night.

My gut? There's no need for that. I'm fairly certain of what the perpetrator actually was, at least, although you probably wouldn't believe me...

Shamira thought for a couple of seconds, making sure to carefully choose her words before speaking. "Based on what we know to be true, yes, that does seem like the only plausible one, but a whole group of witnesses can't be wrong. Even if they're exaggerations, there's hardly ever smoke without fire. I believe there is more to investigate, Sir, regardless of whether or not we can come up with a logical explanation for what we may discover."

Hopefully that would lead the rest of the force in the right direction, without making herself sound too crazy.

"Oh, right," Vera chuckled nervously, realizing the boy's discomfort after he had pointed it out. "Sorry about that too."

She lowered the beam of her flashlight back onto the ground, hoping that any temporary blindness she might have caused the other student didn't stay for long, but then again, in this fog, it probably wouldn't make much of a difference for him anyway. With that thought in mind, she returned to the frustration of finding her way around.

"Ugh, this is ridiculous," she whined, realizing how glad she was to have someone to speak to in her current situation. "As if the dark isn't bad enough, but the mist has to be this thick? Like, how did you even get this far without a light?"

Vera took a couple of steps forward, assuming the boy would remain close by since they were travelling along the same path. A feeling of complacency that the rest of the walk would be uneventful was just starting to set in, when suddenly, an unexpected jet of liquid came shooting through the mist, hitting her square in the face. She let out a shriek at the surprise before stumbling back, rubbing it out of her eyes.

She found herself taking more deep breaths to calm herself after the second scare of the night. She aimed the beam of her phone, which was thankfully waterproof, at her hand as she rubbed the liquid she had been attacked with between her fingers. What's with this school and getting students wet? This had better not be anything gross, or so help me... Of course, that was her priority, even if it was for just a second, in a dark, foggy forest where other things were waiting to jump out at her.

Once she was satisfied concluding that the liquid was just water, she decided to move forward slightly, seeing that the attack had ceased. To her surprise, the path seemed to end at some huge roots. Reaching forward through the fog, she felt her hand touching some bark. Is this... the end?

Groaning in disappointment, she turned around and called out to the boy she was with, hoping he was still there since she couldn't exactly tell though the mist. Darn, I should have gotten his name... "Bad news darling, we've hit a dead end. We're going to have to turn back."

@Kalleth @CriticalHit
"Looking at the injuries sustained, it's highly unlikely that humans were responsible for this. Perhaps it might have been something like a wild animal instead," Shamira replied flatly. "Multiple witnesses have claimed that someone actually turned into some sort of lion-monster, Sir."

That was it, although from witness descriptions, she knew all too well that it had been a werelion. She couldn't start talking about werebeasts, or Detective Burkley would think she was insane. For now, she would just tell him her observations and what the witnesses have said, and hear what Burkley himself had to say about it all.

@akje
@Letmehaveone2 I guess you can change it once Matt and Shamira finish their conversation.
