Here's another shapeshifter.

Sorta of an original take on the Monster Girl Idea from Invincible? Pretty neat.

@Redking0380

Princess is fucking terrifying.

I like the balance, also, her rap sheet is insane XD!

Accepted :)

What I might do for the new batch is create an additional post, where all the heroes who are coming in have an additional set of dispatches given by James :)

I mean, I could easily make it worse. What ccould go wrong>?

See what the thoughts are on this

@Redking0380

Hmm, that is a tricky one!

It depends on the kind of shapeshifter- what your character would shift into, as the easiest way would be to invert stats (ie Sonar), rather than leave it poly (for lots of different animals / beings). The mechanic is likely to be set in the dispatch, but probably a simple inversion would be the easiest to work with, say, he might be able to go from one form to another, but later on, there can be modifiers / tweaks to that system as I'm actually building it for future shifts!

But if keen, post up a CS and I'm happy to review it and take a gander :)

Well, It was going to be vaguely based on a character or maybe just a straight rip. To keep stuff simple I was thinking maybe one for each category?
Something that would end up like 4/0/0/0/0? Or even toss a negative in there or some such.
So,I did want to pitch an idea for a certain kind of shapeshifter. Should I have a stat layout for each form, or just leave that up in the air?

The actualy mechanic of it I was thinking could just be a wheel spin maybe, or set by the dispatch.
The Iron Dragon

Name: Catherine Long
Age: 32
Gender: Female
Family: Husband
Appearance:
Daily

Hero

Superpower: Dragon Soul - To be one with the dragon of the soul is to be one of Power and unbound savagery. Eastern, Western, Mythic or real, all are beasts at their inception. First and foremost, strength is their prerogative. To weather blows like a mountain or strike forth with power befitting a storm. To be draconic is to not just be fearsome, it is to be a natural disaster.
Second is the control of elements, foremost being fire. After all, they are not drakes who spew mere ignited gas. They are fire, and all heat follows their command.

Yet one must always be wary, for the dragon is not infallible. Greed, rage, arrogance, all are marks of a dragon and those who fall too deep shall find that their ironclad scales are not impenetrable. After all, it is a story told a thousandfold of the great beast who slept in piles of gold and found their armor turned as soft as that metal, waiting for a single arrow or spear to peirce through and inevitably find their heart.

Skills:

  • Paperwork
  • Grilling
  • Spicy Food Tolerance
  • Karaoke
  • Dice Games

Equipment: Armor and Weapons manifested from the flames of her soul.

Personality: Despite the inherent volatility of her soul, the woman known as Catherine is a rather stoic and put together person. Working a simple office job that pays well, and having a rather simple life. Deep beneath a frigid demeanor still lies the fuel for things to burn, and not always in the most controlled manners.

Biography: Young Life was strange for Catherine. She was home schooled by an aunt with too many degrees and not enough job prospects, and was rather isolated.

Teenage and young adulthood followed rather closely by. She went by herself and found a decent office job and worked there unassuming to many.

Even marriage was a subdued affair. The love was there, and it ran deep, but it was not…easily expressed. Not that it bothered William, whose brutish nature was expressive enough for both of them. The stark contrast is more than enough to shock people.

Perhaps it was the sense that pulled her so deeply into comfort, to be content with a solid income, a good house, and a spouse who couldn't be brought down. That was until…

In truth, who could have seen it coming? In a world of villains, heroes, and powers strange and mundane, the average person still is lulled into thinking none of it will affect them.

An average day, a rare dinner at a diner down the road. Greasy food and pool tables, wide windows yet dark in the evening light, a place that accepts bikers and families.

Who would've expected that little neighborhood to be ground zero of Kaiju emergence? Not the biggest or the strongest one out there, but…

It matters little when its very steps lead to the building around them crumbling, to see her husband trapped under bricks and lumber.

To the woman known as Catherine, all she can remember of that day was panic and all consuming heat. And all that would remain of that beast, that neighborhood, the sky, was orange flames and black smoke.

Then in the center a woman cradling a man, bruised, confused, and alive.

That day onwards, the distant embers of her soul sparked into something more.

Relationships: (Optional, discuss this with other players!)

That's an interesting angle, I just wouldn't want it to mean that every villain would have to taunt her for it to be of use (not that I expect it to be uniform), since that would limit writing possibilities. I think if she can be damaged outside of her "ragebaited status" it should be fine (e.g. increased endurance compared to a normal human but not invincible), so go ahead and post the CS in the characters tab.

Yeah, I sort of had the idea of a sort of ramping scale to her. Where she is rather normal then super human then draconic and such, with the more power being almost more berserkerish in concept.
@Redking0380 I appreciate you making those edits! To clarify, the weakness blurb means that if she gets too unfocused, she becomes weaker? It could just be me, but I found the phrasing to

Yeah, pretty much. The more you ragebait her the more vulnerable she becomes.

ANywys, I did go forth and change it up to hopefully fit more in line
