While the setting of this HGW isn't exactly my cup of tea for the complications it might cause, the structure of this RP is reasonable enough; I'll let my tentative interest for this be known.

I'll wait before confirming my participation, though. In case I do, I have a few questions that I'd like answered:

@Reflection

- Will we be required to make use of Discord? Instant messaging is something I prefer to avoid since I don't have enough free time to keep up with it, so this is one of the major factors for me.

- While I understand that new Servants might be your preference, the canon ones are some of the most iconic heroes and legends that pretty much any master would wish to summon in a HGW so, why is it we can't use their canon statistics? Remaking them might as well cause more problems than it's worth. Just to put this into consideration, I have a strong inclination to using Archer Atalanta and now I'm looking for a chance to play her Berserker version, having to rewrite her would be really beyond complicated, in case I decide to join.

- How in-depth do you want the characters to be as far as Nasuverse terminology and lore go? I've had more than enough of my fair share of Fate RPs ruined by overzealous GMs and players arguing about all kinds things. If you want the game to be detailed in the extreme like listing all the spells a magus PC knows, what are the full contents of their Family Crest, their Origin explained in details, etc, I'll abstain from joining for certain.

I apologize beforehand if it looks like I'm scrutinizing your RP, but I'd like to avoid any misunderstandings that might come down the line. If I know your expectations I can be certain whether or not I'm capable of/willing to fulfill them.

1) Discord will not be required. But it helps with organizing stuff and allows people to chat up ideas on the side. So it's fine if you're not interested, I'll still post most major announcements in an OOC.
2) I'd honestly prefer people not just do direct one to one copies of canon heroes. Not because I'm against it, but because I'd rather people be able to add their own spin or ideas rather than have a whole cast of characters directly lifted from the anime. If you want to use Atalanta, that's fine. And you could probably get away with just copying her general powers and what not over.
3) Don't worry. I'm honestly pretty lax on it. I mostly request that the more powerful spells be explained, and maybe some direction for how their magic works. (There will be no need for all that crest nonsense.) Mostly I just want enough, so that nobody tries pulling something like "Well my character also has a spell that makes heart explodes, even though all of his other abilities are related to water bending."

And thank you for asking questions. I'll keep you as a tentative.

There is a Discord up now.
So, at the moment 9 people (including me) seem to have shown interest. Thankfully this is why I we've got more slots. (As well as NPC Masters/Servants).

So I'll be starting up a Discord soon, and possibly opening up a OOC for character bios within a day. If you want to hold a spot for a certain servant class, let me know. That way we can avoid tripling up. Since we're doubling up on classes at most. (2 Casters, 2 Assassins, 2 sabers, etc. There won't be 3s of classes.)
@Reflection

Oh, cool. Though, these may seem just a lil' silly.

1)Is it allowed for players to copy a canon character's abilities and then stick them onto an 'OC'. For example, I think Lancelot had knight of owner(correct me if I'm wrong), so could you copy and use that?

2)The characters in Fate are like heroes or famous people right?(and genderbent, I thought that was odd. Way to ruin Jack the Ripper). Are all cultures allowed? Like Greek heroes, Roman heroes, etc

3) I'm assuming history will have major alterations? Not that I'm a history buff or anything, I just thought that was something I should ask.

Again, silly questions.

1) While it is possible for various characters to have similar abilities, since certain heroes have similar feats. (Hercules isn't the first hero to have a series of trials to make amends for murder). So if you can justify certain skills or noble phantasms to another character, then that's acceptable.

2) Yes, they are usually famous historical or fictional characters. Sherlock Holmes has even appeared. But mostly historical characters tend to be better. And it's not just Greek and Roman. Characters from Hindu or Persian stories can appear too. It's mostly a matter of if their myth is still known. (You can genderflip characters, since it might help avoid a major sausagefest of servant characters depending.)

3) What history are we referring to? The history of 1939? It's possible depending on what happens. (And if what happens is particularly big and changes history completely then I may do a follow-up.) But if you refer to the historical histories of characters, they don't really change. Some stuff can be different depending, but oftentimes not really.
Is the language barrier important here? I can't remember if it was explained or handwaved how people like Waver and Bazett just walk into Japan and fluently deal with whoever they meet.

It probably won't be. We'll just chalk it up to translation magic. Explains how somebody who can only speak ancient greek can speak japanese.
If I had bothered to keep up with the Fate series(and subsequently learned how things work) I'd join. But I'll just sit back and watch this story unfold.

If you have questions on rules and what not, I can easily help out.
I'm going to after classes and work tonight. Already have a rough of what I'll be doing.

I'm conflicted in choosing one of the following. But this will be the master-servant combinations I am thinking, in order of preference.

Winston Churchill - Lancer Artoria
Anne Frank - Caster Merlin/Solomon
Georgy Zhukov - Rider Medb
Erwin Rommel - Any Rider Class Servant
Leon Trotsky - Rider Boudicca

Feel free which one I should get.

So, I think there is a mistaken bit of info here.
1) You do not create your own Master and Servant pairing. You make a Master and Servant, and then I'm going to place them on different teams. (That way we can get people interacting rather than a lot of "Me and me are talking and talking, and we're getting along great! That way we work flawlessly together. So instead there can be some back and forth. Etc.)

2) And looking at the list, I'd suggest either going way smaller in historical significance, or just making a non-actual person. I say this because I don't like personally like the idea of Winston Churchill running around 1939 political hotbed of Germany weeks before they invade Poland. He'd probably have a middle man doing the work for him. (Most of them probably would.)
Because as interesting as that story would be, most Masters end up dead, and full blown alternate history probably won't be where this goes. (Anne Frank is honestly your best bet if you really insist on this.)

3) If you can provide good reasons for why they'd be there, beyond just being mages, I'll think it over again. But I'm just not seeing it.
@ManyThings Yeah, that sounds like it could be interesting. Go for it.
In a similar vein, how do you feel about masters from the 3 founding families?

They're preparing for a holy war in Fuyuki. I'm not 100% against it, but I feel I would rather people try to not just repeat characters from the anime or novels.

Edit: I mean, I totally get the appeal. And the story possibilities. So it's not a no.
I'm personally veeeery leery on using real people from recent history as characters. Fate series itself makes sure to avoid that, and for a reason. I just... can't see that ending well.

Otherwise interested. Fate is my jam.

Kinda the same (Which is why I said nothing ridiculous). I'm keeping an open mind, just in case it turns out to brilliant. But yeah, unless you really wanna play a historical figure, you don't even need to bother or worry about it. I chose 1939 Germany more for the political and moral complexity rather than because I want Hitler running around with Gilgamesh as a servant.
