Zenovia had decided to meditate when they had made camp, since she wasn't given the letter to read. Keeping to herself was something she often did, although not by choice since Spirit Walkers were generally an antisocial bunch. A deep howl had echoed through the forest to the north. She knew the sound all too well. She and her mentor had dealt with Wargs before, but the shaman was nervous now that her Mentor was no more, in a physical sense.

Suddenly Vert shouted about Wargs, which reassured the wood elf. It was good to know that the others knew what they were about to face. What she didn't expect was for the monster to save one of them from an attack. Despite most of them being against the existence of Vert, she was selfless enough to shield one of them. Zenovia couldn't help but feel guilty of being so judgemental, however it wasn't anyone's fault other than the Warlock's.

Zenovia breathed in deeply as she got to her feet. Her hand clutching her wooden staff. Her grip shook with anxiety and excitement, the adrenaline flowing through her body as she waited for more of the creatures to attack. However, the taunts from Kaite went unanswered for a while. She subconsciously followed Xen's instruction to stay near the fire. She could feel herself calm down as she remembered that there were others around to support her if need be.

The spirits shook in excitement as more Wargs approached the party, only to be felled by Kaite. Zenovia's eyes flicked left and right, waiting for another to appear. In the corner of her eye, a group of spirits flashed like torches, as if they were telling her something was there. Lighting the area like a lantern, only the Spirit Walker could see the form of a beast hiding among the trees.

Holding her staff in front of her, her light blue eyes glowed. The raven head of her staff went alight with an ominous blue flame. Similarly to the previous night, she chanted words unknown to those around her. A Warg charged out of the trees, heading straight for the red haired elf. It leapt at her, but it was too late.

"Mán naur!", Zenovia pointed her staff at the beast, a flash of blue flame erupted from the raven's head, incinerating the Warg mid-pounce, leaving nothing behind. Some might say it was 'overkill', but it was mostly to serve as a warning to the rest of their pack. However, the mage could feel the presence of the undeterred.
I'll make a post when I get home! Don't wanna miss the action hahaha
Interested!

How 'low' is this low fantasy going to be? What kind of magic is available if any? Or is it low fantasy in terms of creatures?
Fuck yes I'm in
@XenoCyanide@Hawlin

It's been that way for awhile now, the tagging system is still a little buggy like that. You just gotta spell the name right the first time! hahaha~
@Thinslayer

I mostly agree with you on everything you've said. Just one thing though about timeline issues, etc..

I feel as though the Warg attack was a little out of place? As you say, it was a random thing you threw at us. This is just my opinion, feel free to disagree with me, but I think if we were to wait just a little longer for everyone to establish camp and then throw a Warg attack at them, it'd create more of cause for alarm. To me it just felt like they only just started walking and then a pack of Wargs come out of the forest (Even though you time skipped it a little). Mostly just mistimed I think.

I think of my character as quite separate person from myself, so their actions are defined by their personality (As obvious as that is.) Thus I'm not going to force them to do something that's not 'them' just for the sake of pushing something forward. The RP may have slowed down due to real life, but doing a timeskip and skipping dialogue that may have happened within the timeskip feels like the opportunity for characters to acknowledge others is lost.

In any case, It's fine as the GM to throw stuff at us, it helps a lot.

Like Zee, I do try to include others in my post and I apologise to anyone that feels like I've ignored them. However, please do use the [@] tag function, that helps me a lot, even if you mess it up and it doesn't notify me properly. I take the time to read everyone's posts anyway. The tag thing just helps me know who is the specific target of some things in the post.

Also: I'm just waiting for some others to post before I do, sorry.
@Cuccoruler

Zenovia is the mage, not the healer~ Just sayin'

EDIT: Also, I need something clarified. Are we on horses or are we on feet?
@Thinslayer

To me, Roleplaying is like a team game. As you say, you shouldn't have to feel that it's a chore to write something good. However I think it's better to think of it this way:

A nice fleshy post helps others think about what they can write in return. The more you express, the more things people can use to write their response. Which is similar to when Xeno said. There's a fine balance between writing too little and writing too much. There have been cases where some roleplayers just write too much and it becomes a chore to read.

I personally find it comforting when someone gives me character expressions and internal dialogue to read so I can learn more about their character.

Writing about their internal dialogues and expressions is important in this case as unlike many roleplays, we don't know each other's characters at all. There's no bio or little personality snippet to refer to.

Just something to keep in mind. We're a team. We're all here to help each other out if one of us is feeling lost.
@rush99999

I was kidding..

Zenovia felt the overall atmosphere of the conversation go a little more sour than she had initially thought. Of course, she didn't know what he had been through, but she didn't think that it would come up in such a way. "I-I didn't mean to make you remember something so terrible.. I'm sorry. She said apologetically, bowing her head to him slightly. When Ivan put the question back onto her, she also took a moment to think about what she would say. She hadn't really done much before all of this..

"A-anyway, I- uhm.. I was training as a Shaman before I was summoned here. Talking to the spirits and practising magic." She chose to omit a large portion of what she could've possibly said. Who she was wasn't important in such circumstances. She paused for a moment before finally saying, "As long as you follow what you believe in, what you're called doesn't matter, right?"

Her gaze turned to Tiberius who had decided to ride up closer to the group, apologising before he began to read a letter he had received. She found it a little strange that an unknown person would tell them to stay away from Sadron, the man who had started this quest. Not to say that it didn't make sense, it just seemed very 'out of nowhere'. When Tiberius and Xen had finished speaking, Zenovia decided to respond, "As Xen says, we'll be making camp soon. I'd like to read the letter when we set up.. if that's alright." She said in her usual soft voice. She couldn't imagine what would be in the letter. It couldn't possibly be from her House.. Although she did leave without saying goodbye. Spirit Walkers weren't really the kind of people to care too much if one of them walked off somewhere.. It's in the name after all.
