Gorge The Mutant
Salem Diner >>> Salem's eastern perimeter /// Midday

The mutant stood nearly at attention as the doctor and his companion spoke. The man seemed taken back by him but was able to introduce himself as Rick. With a slight nod the mutant spoke, “A pleasure to make your acquaintance Rick. You may call me Gorge.” A bit formal, but he didn’t care too much. At least the shopping list wasn’t that specific, they needed all they could get apparently.

The footsteps of someone approaching from behind him nearly caught him off guard as another town’s folk made an announcement. “Wanted to let you all know that tonight we'll have a town meeting. I think much needs to be discussed, considering today’s events... I think the Inn is a good place, two hours from now.”

After the man left Gorge couldn’t help but sigh, “Well I won’t be able to make it back in two hours. I guess I’ll go find something else to occupy my time.” he waited for a moment to see what the doctor had to say about his proposition before leaving. The doctor seemed to agree with this Rick fellow, “As you wish, at least this town has proven to be… capable.” With a final nod the mutant turned and walked back into the street.

For a moment the giant stood in the street without purpose just sort of looking back and forth trying to find something to do. With finding nothing to do and not particularly wanting to spend the next two hours doing nothing. Gorge opted to just wander around town and get used to the surroundings. Seeing as how he might just be staying here for a little while or until they kick him out.

Gorge wandered around the broken and bruised buildings, the town seemed to have had its fair share of problems in recent days. The smaller bodies of Death claws still lay in the streets. The few that were still around he moved over near the big one next to the clinic. He could hear voices inside but didn’t think anything of it and continued on his way.

Behind one of the buildings was an odd sight, a poorly taken care of Gatling laser lay still and cold. Looking as if it was just left there and no one had any claim to it. The mutant didn’t see any problem with taking it, checking it over for problems before continuing on. This time he walked the perimeter of the town making sure to periodically rub the Death claw tail on random objects effectively marking the area. This scent would ward off future threats. None of the smarter wild animals would dare come near a place that was marked by a death claw.

He stopped for a moment in front of a few of the turrets that were clustered at the front of the town. Some seemed to scan him for a movement before continuing to buzz and whir moving from side to side. He did however notice one of the turrets had been shredded, sparks still arcing off it from the power supply. It could very easily start a small fire if it continued this way.

Not wanting to create more issues for the already battered town the mutant disconnected the power cable from the base of the machine. For a moment all he could do was stare at it and then back to the outskirts of town. An idea finally made its way to his head. Picking up the random bits and pieces of the destroyed turret he set them down on a nearby flat bed. Putting all the pieces down as well as the Gatling laser. He was about to begin work on the turret when he smelt it. The stench of death and mutants.

The sudden smell reminded him of the mutants that were killed earlier and then again to his dead friend. “You would have liked this place Harold.” He spoke to himself as he walked around the old rusted cars to where the dead mutants laid. He took his time searching through their bodies, taking weapons, ammunition, caps, and bits of armor from them before returning to the task at hand.

Retrieving the small metal welder which was a modified laser pistol and a few other small tools. The mutant began to work on the turret modifying the power supply and the motor that rotated the turret. The bio scanner was still intact but the old gun it had was completely destroyed. He continued to work on the turret occasionally stopping to look around and make sure nothing was trying to sneak up on him. With a little of luck he would hopefully have the turret armored and firing a Gatling laser before the town meeting started.

here you go... this took a little longer than i thought it would.

Goblin Gird
Exploring the forest with Luz /// Morning // Day 3

It took him a few minutes to make his way towards the back of the tree through the brush. From here he would wait for his counterpart to get into position before moving forward. Keeping slow and watching both the tree and every foot step leading up to the tree. The last thing he wanted was for this creature to catch wind of their presence and either take off running or attack them. Once he reached the tree he again waited for the other goblin to get into a favorable position.

He couldn't see the body of the creature but, he could see the horn. He would be able to get a good hold on it with both hands. Upon seeing Luz he simply gave her a nod and reached down toward the horn. If Gird could get a hold of the horn with both hands, he would pull the rabbit up so Luz could get a better shot. Making sure to keep his grip whatever the cost even if it drug him away and to be wary of the point. To put it simply he didn't want it to retreat back into the hole where they would lose the advantage of numbers, and he didn't want it to run away either.

Goblin Gird
Exploring the forest /// Morning // Day 3

Girds eyes scanned the forest ahead of them. This area wasn’t well traveled to him this did mean that where they were could be quite dangerous. He didn’t drop his guard or really talk to the female all that much. But when their path opened up and began to lead to a clearing the goblin slowed. Then he saw it. In the center of the clearing. A small flicker of movement and something that looked unnatural at the base of a large tree. A horn.

He stopped suddenly and dropped to one knee. He had no idea what it was doing. But, he did know it wasn’t moving much from where it was. He turned and motioned to Luz to come closer. For a moment he hesitated, not wanting to speak and possible give his position away he pointed to the dirt. Drawing an x for the tree and a circle for them. He pointed at himself and drew a line that dropped down and to the left of the x before moving back to it. Then pointing at the girl made another line going the opposite way around.

The goblin looked up at her to make sure she understood what he was showing her then pointed at the x once more. This time he pointed at himself and mimicked grabbing something with both hands and holding on to something like a branch or pulling up a root. He then pointed to her and her small club and made a swinging motion. Before he left his new ‘friend’ he simply mouthed one thing as quietly as he could, “go slow.” And with that Gird set off at a low crawl moving slowly through the brush with his club in hand to the left of the tree.

Goblin Gird
Exploring the forest /// Morning // Day 3

A female Goblin named Luz. The girl seemed quite confident in her abilities. More so then some of the other goblins that still seemed to be wandering about in a daze or wandered off into the forest with little direction. “Worthy?” Gird gave the girl a smirk before rolling his eyes and turning back towards the forest. He began to walk away from her as she continued to speak. Honestly he wasn’t trying to be rude, he just was hungry.

After seeing her pick up her choice of a weapon he took another look at her. The cogs in his head turning as he thought for a moment. “Alright I guess we will see if we make a good team. But, we share everything. From kills to meat.” Still holding the club on his shoulder. “If we both put in effort for the kill no matter who gets the killing blow, we share. If you come with me I will assume you accept” he didn’t wait for an answer. He was too hungry to wait around any longer.

“Oh and my name is Gird.” He called out before walking into the brush and further away from the cave. The small well-traveled trails where helpful with moving through the brush for a little while. Eventually he did leave them for less traveled areas trying to make sure he could find his way back. Eventually walking through a part of the forest that didn’t have any paths, goblin or otherwise. After all he was here to explore, learn what if any plants where edible, and what the local wildlife was like. Even if it meant going hungry for a day, something he hoped to avoid.
