Peacock - Mahora, Miso Lake

"What's up, toots? Cat got your tongue or somethin'?" Once more producing a cigar from... Seemingly nowhere, Peacock took another drag. What was up with this broad anyways? And who in their right mind would take a dip in soup? Geez, and people thought she was crazy...

"'Spose introductions are in order, though... Name's Peacock!" With this, she raised her tophat, and a small bird perched atop her head (dressed exactly like Peacock herself) repeated the gesture. "And pee-yew, you stink!" Despite how confused she was at her current predicament, the dame didn't seem like any of those weirdoes she'd ran into lately, and she definitely wasn't any Skullgirl, that's for sure. Didn't even look like she'd be fun to roughhouse either, despite how much Peacock wanted to beat the crap out of something right now.

Of course, as soon as this thought crossed her mind, the Eyes of Argus dotted upon her arms caught sight of something approaching fast from behind her. For a moment, her silver, jagged teeth were in full display to the other girl as she flashed a sinister smile, before she suddenly spun around on the spot and pulled out a comically large revolver from behind her back.

"REACH FOR THE SKY, YA LITTLE COCKROACHS!" With wild abandon, bullets larger than the barrel of the giant pistol blasted out, and the few moments of silence that followed were soon broken by the splash of a giant bug-thing's corpse landing in the miso lake... And the buzzing of a swarm of its friends heading straight for the two girls "...Don't suppose you've got any Raid on ya, toots?"

I would be confused if it wasn't, really, seeing how it's the Tower and all. XD

Nanoha is always a good basis for the tone of magical girl stuff, really, so I am pleased with this. ^_^

That setup sounds cool with me too. And don't mind my grumbling, I'm just a crotchety old biddy who remembers when all magical girls shows were accused of being Sailor Moon ripoffs. XD

Mizuki probably won't worry too much about cutting classes herself, really, but admittedly I at least tried to imply she has those teenage delusions going on so yeah.

I mean I love Madoka and it's a fantastic series (the original series at least; spinoffs notsomuch), but it makes me sad whenever people instantly jump to thinking of it whenever magical girls are mentioned despite it being so atypical and not a very good representation of the genre as a whole. Then again I usually think of stuff like Precure and Nanoha so... Yeah. ^^;

If it means anything, the Moon's power is basically a Green Lantern ring. XD Since it really seemed like the best kind of power to give the arcana based around imagination and creativity to me.

Started last night, but needed to sleep so didn't get it finished until now. ^^;

The Moon

• Name: Mizuki Wakahisa
• Age: 14
• School Year: Second year of Junior High
• Height/Weight: Short/above average for her size. Not good at figuring this out. ^^;
• Magic Color: Pale blue
• Appearance: Untransformed and transformed.
• Personality: Quiet and reserved, Mizuki has a habit of blending into the crowd; not that it's intentional, it's just that she never really says or does anything to stand out. Despite being smart, she finds it hard to get motivated, and if you manage to get more than a few words out of her it becomes clear that she's kind of... Bored. Eternally, perpetually bored. Everyday life just doesn't seem to interest her in the slightest, yet she still carries on as best she can whilst wishing there was something more exciting, more interesting, more fantastic. She seems to pick up hobbies on a whim and discard them just as quickly, unable to keep interest in such uninteresting pursuits (although sometimes this is just an excuse to hide the fact that she just wasn't very good at her new hobby). However, once she gets her magical girl powers, the shy, quiet, perpetually unmotivated Mizuki might make a rather startling change...
• Background: Average. Ordinary. Boring. That's how she'd describe it, at least. Mizuki's life has been completely without any major incident... And it bores her so very much. Her family were regular, caring, and a bit dull. She does kind of average at school, although if she actually asserted herself maybe she'd do better. She doesn't have many friends, and those she does have aren't really that close. Really, she just finds everyday life to be... Boring, tedious and just plain dull. She'd give anything for a change, really. Anything.
• Powers:
  
  • Card: The Moon (XVIII) - Representing creativity, imagination and illusion, The Moon arcana allows Mizuki to create objects of hard light. Technically, this is limited solely to her own imagination, but due to going through a creative block lately (as well as not being very physically gifted) she tends to use it for two things: the "wings" that allow her to gently float a few feet off the ground, and lasers. Lots and lots of lasers. She needs to concentrate in order to maintain more complex creations, and if her concentration if broken even a little such constructs will quickly fade and dissapate.
• Skills: Mizuki is no athelete; in fact her physical capabilities are actually slightly negligable. She tires out pretty quickly when she exerts herself physically, and can't take a punch. At all. She's pretty good at any subject that requires creativity, however, such as writing, art and music.
• Weapons: Mizuki possesses no specific weaponry as her magical girl powers allow her to create any she wishes. Of course, she rarely makes any actual weaponry due to being physically weak.
• Equipment: Nothing much more than her clothes, her glasses, her purse and a smartphone, really.
