Location: Bedroom within the Ship, some time later.
Samad’s eyes scrunched tightly, his head shifted as his mind started to clear. The first thing that came to his mind was the weight across his arm causing him to raise his head, narrowing his eyes upon the source. It was naked woman of alabaster skin and his scent all over her. Abruptly he shuffled upright in the bed with a wide eye look as he gritted his teeth and yelping deeply in his throat. The sheets collected at his waist but still managed to cover Kiara completely.
Kiara’s eyes snapped open as soon as she felt someone moving next to her. She took one moment to assess her situation. “Well. Shit.” She sat up, shameless in front of the man she just had sex with. “I suppose we’d best start getting dressed. We never had sex, I presume? That’s the story at any rate. Hopefully Lucas doesn’t have hidden cameras in here.”She slipped past Samad, gathering her clothes and glaring at her shadow. “Shut up Eric, it’s not like I willfully chose to have sex with him. We’re not even in families anymore.”
“It wouldn’t surprise me if he did. As for it never, it does it matter? Either way, I’m not volunteering information if you don’t and I doubt anyone will give a shit.” Samad uttered, his body leaning into the covers still shifted about his middle. His eyes passed over her bare figure and allowed her to get dress first like a gentleman. He inhaled, no longer in shock over his recent ‘sin’, while he stretched out.
Casually he twisted his legs over the edge, pressing his heels into the floor and stood upright. He let the sheet fall back upon the bed then reached down for his slacks, shirt, socks and shoes. After he pulled on his pants, his right leg seemed to chose now to start hurting causing him to slump back onto the bed. “Stupid leg acting up again.”
He started to rub the knee gently, hoping to ease the ache budding.
Kiara looked at him over her shoulder, smirking. “I don’t give a shit. But from how you were reacting before I lost control of my hormones you seemed to care quite a bit.” She frowned as she watched him rub his knee. “Can’t you just use Alchemy to heal that? Unless you’re like Maeve and are leaving it around for sentimental reasons. For the love of Christ shut up Eric. We’re perfectly fine. She’s not gonna escape again.” She had finished putting on her clothes and was securing her weaponry, both parts of E.L.G going beneath her cloak while the pistol disappeared on her hip.
“ Considering you talk to yourself, I can see why.” Samad stated bluntly as he noted the shadow move in an odd way. He assumed she was moving it on her own while he heard her talk about his wound, his hand still rubbing it a few moments longer. “Really? I’ve been able to do alchemy since I was eight, don’t you think that’s the first thought that occurred to me? I’m not like Cade who actively avoids using alchemy. We’re all going to take a dive off the deep end, why bother fighting it when you can accept it and move on.”
Samad then rose and slipped upon his belly, his golden eyes looked under the bolted down bed. His head turned to seek out his weapons which had fallen under the bed.
“Fatalistic and sarcastic. I think we’ll get along just fine.” Kiara chuckled softly. “Everyone talks to themselves. And if you mean Eric, I’m talking to him not myself. If you’re looking for a bomb, it’s already gone off. It’s why Maeve is so horny and I was so horny.” She raised an eyebrow. “An itch you barely scratched I might add.” Eric zoomed over and looked suspiciously at Samad. As suspiciously as a shadow could at least. “Eric. Stop being jealous.”
“JI was high, so considered it was scratched at all means I’m still good at my lowest. You, even when you’re horny, didn’t quite match well yourself. And no, I’m looking for my cane and katar. Got it!” Samad stated as he pulled the two items from under the bed then started to pull open his sleeve. He then strapped the katar to his forearm, quickly securing it and finally ripped the sleeve over his arm. Wrapping up buttoning it, Samad reached for his cane handle before he stood upright. He leaned heavily against the support while he grabbed his shirt left on the bed. Pulling it on, he pushed one arm through a sleeve and then wrapped it about to put on the other through.
“How did you get them under….Nevermind. You found them, great! Shall we leave with our magnificent entrance all set? You limp out, I’ll make jokes about breaking the bed and your leg, it’ll be a grand old time.” She attached her cloak with a theatrical whirl and headed towards the door.
“I’m talented and just leave it at that. As for joking about breaking my leg, I doubt it would stand but good luck making it. The attempt should be funny at least since you don’t look like you could break much of anything. As for grand old time, I very much doubt it with all of us babysitting the bloodlines and tolerating my partner Cade.” Samad stated then started to follow, his leg giving him issues all the way.
-----Back in the Bathrooms_----
“Oh that bitch!” Maeve said, laughing slightly.. She looked at Cade. “I send your partner to go and get her, and instead he has sex with her. What the hell kinda deal is that?” She walked up to him. “Are you sober enough to actually walk now, or shall we wait for them to hobble over here?”
Cade jumped at Maeve’s reaction then raised an eyebrow in question. Gradually, his queasiness had faded finally and he managed to straightened his figure where he could stand upright now. However, a heavy headache managed to swirl around his skull causing him to lean down for his medical bag. Thankfully it was waterproof, namely with everything they encounter he made it such, so the contents weren’t going to be ruined by the damage left by the bomb.
His hand reached into the open top for some painkiller. Cade wasn’t surprised honestly that Samad had bedded Kiara, for several reasons. His partner wasn’t exactly tied with anyone and it had been a while since the man had laid with anyone, then add that with the fact their judgement was impaired equal a disastrous result.
Before the man could reply, Maeve tilted her head and started giggling. The giggles turned into full blown laughter as she leaned against the wall, holding her ribs.
“I can’t...I can’t...this is great!”
Cade shifted uncomfortably, seeing the Asylum break down into a fit of giggles. “Considering the situation, it doesn’t surprise me and not likely ideal to wait. Also, don’t you think we have other things to do other than stand around and giggle?”
He popped a pinch of herbs into his mouth then sucked it off his finger, letting it become absorbed in his tongue. It would take some time to work but the effect was long lasting and healthier than chemically made painkillers too. As he rubbed his temple, Cade then added. “Shouldn’t we be looking for more bombs? There could be more.”
Maeve looked at Cade in honest confusion. “You mean...you can’t….Gods. How new are you two at this whole ‘other person in my head’ thing? I can hear everything in Kiara’s head, and her reactions. Very well, I’ll show you why I was giggling.”Maeve’s eyes clouded over, shining a muted green, and two voices spoke from her mouth.
“I had a normal life up until about 4 years ago when my Alchemy sprouted and I was given a crash course, including the fact my rights as human no longer exists. Cade stated bitterly as he then added right before two voices erupted from Maeve’s throat. “In addition, I’m currently Samad’s second partner so our link isn’t… good.”
He listened while the conversation he assumed was happening in the bedroom poured out of the Asylum’s mouth, finding the experience a bit creepy. It was like she was a recording within the room causing him to frown in discomfort while it progressed more.
“Powerful things come in small packages, you should know. You've got the second half of that saying down.”
"Careful. It's not easy riding your boney ass after all and I'm pretty sure you stuck me with those boney hips of yourself more times than once."
“At least I didn’t have to be guided.”
Her eyes cleared, sparkling with mirth. “See? They’re arguing over who was worse in bed and it’s fucking hilarious. As for the bombs, if there were more they’d have gone off by now, while we were all incapacitated. Remember that?” She narrowed her eyes at him. “Please tell me you’re not taking more drugs. You just got off of being higher than a kite.”
“Yes but these I know the effects of, and aren’t alchemy laced. They are painkillers unless you want me patching people up with a headache and instead of healing, making it worse. We don’t know how the other faired or their condition due to the side effects. As for the bombs… are you willing to risk the mission and the Bloodlines on that assumption?” Cade resisted the urge to growl.
“Yep!” Maeve replied cheerfully.
By this time, Samad and Kiara came into view. Samad avoided Cade’s eyes, which the younger Asylum didn’t care at the moment and asked a question. “You realize we have to get back to the families before they realize something up, right?”
Samad nodded and spoke, limping past Cade with his cane supporting him. “Yeah, though we might have a few less to babysit now. With any luck.”
Kiara waved a hand. “Way too late. The Peraltas have at least one camera in every room of this ship. They know very well that there are bombs and we dealt with them...though, I must admit, ‘dealt with’ is a loose term. Fortunately for us, the Chrono is still out there and they’re all behaving.”
“Pity”, was all Samad replied drawing a glare from Cade. The ex-Kian was glad their telepathy rarely worked when they were in conflict, the only positive thing when they were paired as far as he was concern. Ignoring the obvious tension pouring off Cade, he pushed past and started toward the room they all came from.
You've got a demigod of knowledge now, so given a bit of time to hatch from his cocoon of "oh holy shit im a body that cant handle all this power i gotta do something about this QUICK" I imagine he could act as a replacement in a localized area.
EDIT: My hope for this is to start up a big tug of war for which city gets Lazarus. I will introduce conflict whether you like it or not!
I would like to introduce you to someone. His name is Vestec.
Angels can be divided into two categories, one near extinct and one the entirety of all angels but like, two.
Original, or Arch, Angels: These were Angels who were born in Heaven before the Great War, and have never died. They're immortal in the Elven sense, meaning they can die but age will never claim them. They possess and often use, quite effectively and powerfully, all of the classes abilities. Their abilities with them are often more archaic but more powerful than the Surface Angels abilities. For example, with Battle Angels abilities, they can heal instantly and quickly any non fatal wounds they have, but their skin doesn't automatically close against wounds, they have to consciously do it. There are currently only two known ones left. Lucien (the one killing the Council Members), and Ariane (the Last Council member who is currently in hiding.)
Surface Angels: The new and current Angels. They aren't immortal, merely long lived. When they die their Essence is reborn into another Surface Angel. This means, with practice, effort, and time, they can remember past lives. Not all at once, of course (they'd die or go batshit insane), and rarely all the way back to their Original Angel life.
They are divided into classes and represent the entire population of Angels.
There are three types of them.
Pure: Angels who are reborn from the Essences other Angels. Their wings are pure white.
Grey: Angels who are reborn from those few human essences that get changed into Angelic Essences. Their wings are grey.
Dark: Angels who were infested by the Council with the perfected Demonic Parasite, so as to better control them and the entire population. Their wings are black.
The Council: The last surviving Archangels (aside from Lucien and perhaps a few others) who lead the Angels after the Fall of Heaven until 2014 (Where Lucien started killing all of them).
She is the last Gatekeeper. Essentially a Demi-God. She's trying to keep the balance but people won't play nice and now Hazumi is gone and the balance is all fucked again and so she has to go find Hazumi and kill the things responsible.
She has an army of followers (Demons, Angels, Humans, Chimeras, anyone who wants to preserve peace and balance) who adhere to her ideals, known as the 'Keepers of the Balance.' They are helping the Wielders keep the fragile peace and guard Hell's Gate.
Judas is the mad human who seized untold power, killed Melody and destroyed Hell's gate, wielding her Gatekeeper harp and powers to establish an empire and eradicate any Demons and Angels (especially Angels) they found. This also extended to any humans foolish enough to oppose him, but for the most part he left the human race alone, if under his rule. His rule ended a little over 200 years ago.
Finished!
Name: Lucien
Alias/Nickname: The Fallen Hunter, Kinslayer, Deathbringer.
Age: Apparent: 22 Actual: He was alive before the First Great War.
Race: Original Angel.
Appearance: Face:
Armor(helmet long gone):
His wingspan is 17 feet long, and his wings are pure black.
Social Status: Renegade. Pretty much everyone wants him dead.
Relations:
He's only on good terms with two people:
Hazumi: Essence of the world, the essence of his daughter reborn before becoming the Essence of the world. Missing.
Azel: Demon that Lucien had to live with for about a week. They bonded, Lucien didn't kill him, it was a good time.
Everyone else wants to kill him.
General Activity: Search for the remaining member of the Angelic Council, and kill her. Kill any Demons he finds along the way as well, along with anything that tries to stop him. Find Hazumi.
Abilities: As an Original Angel, Lucien possessed more than one power. However, due to the Demonic Virus inside of him, he’s limited to a very powerful, but also Archaic, form of Battle Angel. He has complete and utter control of his body, able to turn anything, even a drop of blood, into a weapon, and heal himself in a matter of minutes or seconds, depending on the severity of wound. Provided that the wound isn’t instantly fatal and he’s conscious enough to do so. Also, he can’t grow new limbs.
He is physically capable of matching a Demon Lord of Hell in combat.
Strengths
Soldier: Lucien has been fighting a war most of his long life. Against the demons, against the Council, against the mad human Judas, against Wielders and bounty hunters, Lucien has become really good at killing things and surviving attacks made against him, having dealt with almost every variety of them by now.
Paranoid: Lucien, being one of the most wanted beings in the three worlds, is always on edge. No where is safe and he always assumes that he will be attacked at some point when he enters a new area. He's a light sleeper, able to awaken and react to a situation in seconds.
Control: Lucien has immense control over his body, and not even in the sense that he can heal and control the various parts of his body. He can restrict his strength and speed to suit the situation, so as to avoid overkill.
Tough: As an Archangel who specialized in Battle, Lucien has been trained and further trained himself to withstand huge amounts of punishment and still remain conscious. It is ridiculously difficult to knock him out through sheer brute strength, and he's even able to resist the effects of spells designed to knock him out. Not to say such spells won't affect him at all, but when everyone else is falling unconscious, Lucien will have a few seconds extra time to run or, preferably, kill whomever casts it.
Keen senses: Lucien's eyesight, like most Angels, is incredibly keen and able to see far longer distances than others. Through his long war against Demons and other Angels, Lucien has become good at realizing when he's in an illusion. He can't pierce them, so they'll still be in effect doing whatever they were meant to do, but he often notices that there is an illusion. (Ex: If you caste a blinding light illusion, Lucien will still be blinded by it, but recognize it as not a real light). Lucien can 'smell' Essence, able to differentiate between Human, Angel, Demon, and Chimera. Naturally, if you hide your Essence Lucien can't smell you out.
Weaknesses
Ranged combat: Lucien is only good at fighting in close quarters. If you attack him from Range, he'll have to go and chase after you.
Loner: Due to his choice of profession (attempting to murder other Archangels who most of everyone else like), Lucien is typically alone. He can be beaten by numbers, if they're either insanely high or sufficiently powerful. Not to mention, being in a group with him is difficult as he is an uncaring asshole.
Equipment: His sword. His armor. That’s about it.
Personality: Will show IC
Biography:
Lucien was born during a time when Angels were immortal (in the elven sense. You know could still be murdered, but didn’t age beyond a certain point.), and they were at an uneasy peace with Demons. He was alive when things turned to war, and he is one of the few survivors of the Great War. The reason he hates and hunts down the Council, or the Cowards, as he calls them, is simple. They tested their Demonic virus, supposed to give the Angels and edge of the Demons, on his daughter. It did the opposite. Weakened her, and turned her wings black.
And when the Demons were at the gate, getting ready to break in, the Council needed a scapegoat. Lucien’s daughter was used. ‘Her wings turned black because she betrayed us and let the monstrosity at the Gate in!’ they claimed. And the other Angels believed them. They executed her without a trial, right in front of a restrained Lucien. Before Lucien could do more than scream, the Demons broke down the gate. In the Chaos, Lucien killed his daughter’s executioner, before being forced to flee with the rest of the Angels to the Surface. There, the Council decided to set themselves up as minor Gods.
Lucien was imprisoned in Onyx and an excuse was made for it. 'He destroyed a Human city fighting a demon!' They claimed.
In the hundreds of years that followed, Lucien very nearly went insane. Luckily, they let him out before that happened. Hell’s gate was breaking, and they needed everyone who could wield a sword. Even him. To ensure he didn’t do anything stupid, they promised to kill his daughter (or, her reincarnation), Hazumi, if he did anything they didn’t like. That plan was shot, however, when all hell broke loose. A group of Hellions pushed their way past Hell's Gate and started killing and eating everything in sight, including Angels. The Council gathered the remaining Angels in a defensive manner around their headquarters. Hazumi was gone, and all the Council Members and Angels were there. As soon as the Hellions hit them and everything descended into Chaos, Lucien started killing Council members.
By the end of that bloody day, there were only four Council members left. They scattered to the four winds as Hell's Gate finally broke and it's Keeper, Melody, was killed. Lucien started hunting Council members down and executing them and their followers. And anyone who got in his way. He stopped only briefly to help the Academy and others fight and defeat Judas and his mad armies (Though, frankly, it was only so he could get close to the Council Member working with the Academy and kill him.) As soon as that was done, he went back to the hunt.
It has been over two hundred years since he helped stop Judas. There is only one Council Member left alive. And even now,he’s being hunted by anyone who wants to make a name for themselves, or punish the Renegade.
Name: Mary
Alias/Nickname: N/A
Age:Apparent: 18 Actual: 238
Race: Human
Appearance: Five foot 4 inches, eyes are a solid black orbs. There are various scars over her body, some seeming random, others seeming disturbingly purposeful. Oddly enough, they never go above her collarbone. She has a .22 round attached to a chain around her right wrist.
Social Status: She's dissappeared for 20 years. Her status is up in the air.
Relations: Everyone she knew is dead or gone or she doesn't know where.
General Activity: Find out what year it is and go from there.
Abilities:
By herself
Revenge of the Fallen: A war horn blasts a short sound, and three slain enemies of her current enemy(ies) rise to fight at her side.
Heal wounds: A gentle chime sounds and Mary's weapon expands and coats her hands, healing whatever wounds she touches (naturally this takes longer depending on the severity of the wound. Minor wounds take seconds, severe wounds like broken bones take minutes, while mortal wounds could take hours or even days.)
Consume Essence: Screeching instruments sound, and Mary summons an apparition of the Abyss. This apparition lunges forward with wide open jaws and consumes the Essence of whatever it grabs, taking and storing it. This grants Mary an ability based on the abilities and personality of whatever Essence the Abyss consumed. (For example if the Abyss ate the Essence of a protective man who despised demons and could caste magic, she'd get the spell 'Holy Shields: A shield that blocks any and all demonic damage and burns demons and things with demons in them.')
Weaponmaster: War horns briefly sound and Mary is able to turn her string instrument into any weapon of her choice and use it proficiently. She prefers a handgun.
Chains of Judgement: War horns blare to the gentle background of chimes in the wind, and Chains erupt from the ground, attempting to wrap around and pin their victim to the ground.
Anti-Magic Rune/shield: Violins screech and Mary can either make a shield that absorbs and blocks magic, or caste it on the ground to create an area (at largest ten feet at smallest three feet) where magic (even her own) doesn't work.
Orchestra: One of the simplest thing Mary learned, she can make her instrument sound a variety of other instruments ranging from electronic guitars to saxophones to harps. She can even have it play many at once, becoming a one woman orchestra.
Specifically Vengeance
Activation: A long drawn out war horn sounds after Mary manipulates her, now dark red, string instrument.
Appearance: Mary's form turns pitch black, clothes and all, and is outlined in a dark red light. Her voice changes to match Vengeance in her head.
Abilities
-Power match(Passive): Whatever opponent or group Vengeance has locked on, his speed, strength, and resistance to damage increases to match them.
-Vengeance of the Fallen(Active): Vengeance summons up to three copies of slain enemies of his enemy, to battle at his side against them.(For example, Lazarus could have to face those he killed in his past. They wouldn't actually be resurrected, but glowing red clones of them would exist.)
-Instant Retribution(Active): Turning his damage resistance to human flesh, Vengeance returns damage done to him back to his enemies. For example, if someone was to stab his arm, their arm would have a stab wound as well.
-Weapons master(Active): Vengeance can create weapons from his own body, stretching from ancient swords to modern day RPGs, an use them effectively as if he had always been using them.
-Unnaturally flexible(Passive): Vengeance is disturbingly flexible, boneless some would claim. He can bend his elbow in such a way that would break your average person's elbow like a twig. He can bend his knee backwards in a way that most people would attribute with breaking. And so on so forth.
Weaknesses
Instant retribution, while killing whoever killed him, is a quick way for him to die.
-Can't be healed: Vengeance's very essence rejects any healing magics. After all, when seeking vengeance dig two graves.
Specifically Mercy
Activation: A single chime, that rapidly swells in volume like a wave of sound, echoes after Mary manipulates her, now a soft gold, instrument string.
Appearance: Most of Mary's features and clothes are covered with a simple brown robe. The lower half of her face, the only thing visible, turns to a light brown color.
Abilities
-Bandages(Active): From the darkness of her sleeves, Mercy seems to have a limitless supply of bandages. These can be used for defense, or to restrain someone. They are quite resistant to all forms of damage.
-Rejuvenating Aura(Passive): People within 10 yards of Mercy never seem to run out of energy for spells or whatever else they need, and their wounds seem to heal of their own accord..
-Heal(Active): Mercy can heal allies wounds, the more severe the wound taking longer. A cuts, shots, or beatings, take seconds. Broken bones take minutes. A mortal wound would take hours.
Weaknesses
-Pacifist: Mercy is physically incapable of hurting anything.
-Human: Despite her abilities, Mercy has the damage resistance of a normal human.
Specifically the Abyss
Activation: A screeching noise of many string instruments being played badly sounds as Mary's, now black, string instrument is manipulated.
Appearance: A black sludge oozes out of all of Mary's pores, covering her in a thick layer of sludge. Her height increases dramatically to 8 feet, and she has a Cheshire Cat grin, stretching from ear to ear with razor sharp teeth. Her eyes are pure white, glowing like pearls in the dark sludge.
Abilities
-Essence consumption(Passive): When someone thing with a soul dies within a mile of the Abyss's presence, the Abyss eats it. No chance of the void, or rebirth.
-Anti-Magic aura(Passive): Magic just doesn't work within 6 yards of the Abyss. Healing spells don't affect him, fireballs fizzle out, manipulated earth becomes regular earth again, and so on. Even the natural healing ability of Battle Angel fails in his presence.
-Sludge manipulation(Active): Once the Abyss' sludge gets any amount of distance away from his body, it can be manipulated into weapons or shields or whatever the Abyss desires, and however long he needs, given that he's constantly generating it.
-Hellion Archangel match(Passive): The Abyss is strong, fast, and agile enough to match a Hellion or an Archangel in hand to hand combat.
Weakness
His sludge isn't particularly good at resisting piercing attacks.
His sludge is quite flammable, before he manipulates it.
Consume Souls: The Abyss eats the Essences of anything that dies within a mile radius of it, growing with each consumption. This is active even when Mary isn't in the Abyss form.
(It should be noted, that while Mary is in any of these forms she can't use any abilities from the others. For example as Mercy she can't use Revenge of the Fallen, and as Vengeance she can't cast an anti-magic aura)
Strengths:
Adaptable: Mary is quite able to adapt to any situation with her magics.
Kind: Mary is nice to basically everyone. Even if you're an asshole. This typically makes friends.
Courageous: Mary may be terrified out of her mind, but if she needs to do something to help someone she'll do it.
Good shot: Mary was taught by her father how to shoot, and she's quite good at it.
Field medic: Mary knows basic stitching, how to make a tourniquet, and other life prolonging skills, so she can keep you alive until she can heal you with magic.
Weaknesses:
Out of her league: Mary is way out of her depth. She comes from a time when Angels and demons kept to themselves and Humans couldn't cast lightning bolts from their eyes.
Innocent: Though it's getting better Mary is quite trusting of people. She isn't used to killing things either. It makes her distinctly uncomfortable and ill. And scared. Very scared.
Human: Mary doesn't have any special bodies awaiting her soul, no tough skin, not even healing runes waiting to fix her up. She can get hurt as easily as any normal human before the Essence was spread to them.
Equipment: TBD
Personality: Will Show IC.
Biography:
Before being dragged, kicking and screaming, into a world of Demons and Angels, monsters and magic, Mary was a simple college freshman. She was learning to become a small animal veterinarian. Of course, that all changed when she was kidnapped on her way to visit her parents (divorced, both single). Because Mary had attracted the attention of a Demon Lord known as ‘Sir’, he sent two of those who serve him to capture her and bring her to him. Why she was chosen, she doesn’t know. But that matters little when you’ve been kidnapped by two vampires. When the two got in an argument and subsequent fight, Mary managed to escape.
She ran away, only to run into another vampire, an angel, and a human with a rather nasty sword. Long story short, her captors tried to take her back. They were killed violently by the vampire and the human, much to Mary’s horror. However, she was far from being safe. An ascended werewolf arrived, managed to implant Mary with the Abyss, before being killed by Solus, who had killed the werewolf’s partner and then followed the werewolf.
Longer story short, the Abyss was contained inside of her mind by Solus, at the expense of nearly driving Mary insane and assuredly driving the Abyss insane. Mary was then supposed to leave through a magical portal (Mary in no state of mind to question exactly how that worked), and be relatively safe in Scotland. Only it didn’t work that way. Mary and her protector were separated, her own portal got hijacked, and rather than going to Scotland, she was dumped straight into Sir’s hands.
What followed was two centuries of experimentation, with Mary mercifully comatose and kept alive (if immortal) in a figurative cocoon of spells. During these two centuries, Sir managed to remove the old Abyss (mental trap and all), and add a new one. One more…kind, to it’s host. When Sir decided Mary was ready for ‘field testing’ he released her and woke her up in the ruins of what had been Loom, where she was found by Lazarus.
Lazarus taught her some skills and took her under his wing as her apprentice before enrolling her at the Musicians College in Loom. She got her instrument there, and two new voices in her head; Vengeance and Mercy. Vengeance and Mercy were exactly like their names. Vengeance was always ready to fight and bristled at the slightest hint of an insult to Mary, while Mercy was calmer and more forgiving. They, in addition to the Abyss, helped guide her through the waters of having magic.
That is, until they started clashing. It wasn't intentional. Their just wasn't enough room in Mary's soul for them and the Abyss to be so tightly bound. Mary started having seizures and splitting headaches, the worst and last coming on a outing into Loom, hunting down a Renegade Vampire with a couple other Musicians. The last thing Mary remembers is screaming in pain and collapsing to the ground as arrows flew through the air and everything went dark.
When she woke up she was trapped in her mind, distant from Sir as he began to experiment on her once more. Having nothing better to do than talk with Vengeance, Mercy, and the Abyss, Mary slowly came to terms with her situation and her new powers. She even began to accept the Abyss as apart of her, and train with each of their abilities so she can use them herself, rather than relying on them. Twenty years passed this way, before Mary found herself awakening once more, somewhere random in Loom.
