I just finished The Secret History, a very Gen X book. Never Let Me Go before that, which I'd recommend to any writer outside the MFA atmosphere who wants to know emotonal restraint.

While I've been writing and roleplaying for quite some time, I consider myself an ongoing improver of writing in general. I like many different types of genres and try not to lock myself in. Things get pretty stale on the muse if I do that.

I know I'm doing this rather late, since I just made my account threee hours ago, but hi! I'm new to the forums and I'm interesting in trying new roleplays. I can't wait to try something new, or even make a roleplay!

The best I could currently suggest is to first gain a firm understanding of the guild. There's several guides to this effect in our Guides section, but if you need something hightlighted/pointed out/or just had questions feel free to respond to me here or PM me for further information.
After that, scan Interest Checks and current game threads. PM the GM of any game if you want to know if they're accepting and want to take on new players; most will say 'yes' I imagine.

I'm not new to RPing, but I am new to this website! A couple of friends showed me this place, and I'm super excited to start RPing here! ^^
What to say about me. I'm a girl, college freshman, major undecided, and I really love cake, curry, and bubble tea! I'm from the United States, West coast, and I'm super into writing and history! My favorite TV shows are iZombie, The 100, and Turn. I've been roleplaying for 3 years on and off, but I like to think I'm a decent writer! (I can at the very least spell properly ^^;)
My current interests are slice of life, school RPs, and fantasy. I usually play girls, but I'm trying to diversify my abilities.

I will say, when I post in Introduce Yourself and tell people to ask me if they have questions...I genuinely mean it. It's very rare I get people taking me up on it, but I always respond to those that do.
I do like the idea of providing a guide for Intro posts. I like the idea of an intro "writing game."
