Although the heat had no effect on him, the necrosis that stemmed from Aura's hex was just enough to finally bring Yosef down. The sight of this made the attackers on the left side of the battlefield falter like nothing else prior had. Those who were not engaging the enemy take a step back. Those who were in combat were now looking for the first opportunity to do likewise safely. Two attackers who were surrounded by highwaymen without concern before now threw down their weapons and surrendered. The right side of the battle continued to fight just as fiercely though.

"Damn it all!" Ervdul exclaimed in frustration as he made his way over to where Yosef fell, knocking down two more highwaymen with his stone fists as he went.

Meanwhile, those close to Yosef would be able to tell that the ignan attack leader was still alive, though is was a toss of the dice as to whether or not that would remain so at this point.

Yosef falls unconscious.

All attackers on the left flank not engaged in combat move back five feet at the sight of this. Two attackers who are surrounded surrender.

Ervdul moves towards Yosef, punching out two highwaymen along the way.

Yosef rolls a 14 to succeed his first Death Save.

Something's gone wrong with the map. We'll be switching to Theater of the Mind for the time being.

Misty knows what I've mentioned about the copper web so far and she knows the following about the senior officer:

The unaware know him as Samuel Filmore, an eccentric but ultimately well meaning old night cop who used city weapon laws and loopholes in police equipment regulations to carry a sword on his beats.

The aware know him as Cornelius Emmetton a southern plantation owner who died a few years before the Civil War, but was brought back as a vampire by his wizard wife. When the south seceded and war broke out, Emmetton fought for the Confederacy, but faked his death and fled with his wife to parts unknown when the north started winning.

He then showed up alone in the city back in the 1950s, joined the police force under his new mortal identity, and founded the Copper Web, which he is still in charge of to this day.
