Whether you like his appearance or not is up to you. But he isn't bad looking, though he'd never say that himself. When you see him off of work he has a whole bad boy thing going around which is just because of his eyes that are slanted upward and the piercings in his tongue that he got when he was younger. As well as the thousands of piercings in his right ear. He has raven black hair that usually goes unstyled on Friday's because he has a lot of stuff do for work the night before. He's well built but he's more of the type that looks thin from the outside even though he has a six pack under that. Ruby works out but not too much. Besides, kids like it more when he looks harmless.

☂ Biography ☂
Some people frown and pity Ruby when he talks about his past if he ever does. Others don't, finding the happiness that lies beneath the surface which allows him to smile today. He is the oldest of 6 siblings all at least 4 years younger than him. His mother was never really around, always coming and going until when he was 10 and she just vanished. He was crushed, even if his mother wasn't a good one, to begin with, she was still a mother. His father was an alcoholic. A narcissistic alcoholic that didn't really understand the difference between right and wrong.
He wouldn't really say that his father raised him and he wouldn't say that he didn't contribute to the person he is today. His father or Auther as he calls him was more of an embodiment of what not to do or be. Since day one he didn't look up to him for anything because looking at the good for nothing man that he tucked into bed at night was like looking at a man that he hoped he would never, ever become.
Auther wasn't a bad guy. Even if he has punched Ruby a few times it wasn't abused. It was more like teaching him a lesson that he shouldn't talk back to his father. That's why Ruby still doesn't think that he had a depressing past. Auther never laid a hand on the younger ones or his sister that was 3 years younger than him so it was all good. But he did teach him a few things. Simple things like how to pick a lock, throw a baseball bat, and to understand that the bat in the umbrella stand was the killing bat and not to be taken to school.
Over the years, his father finally stopped drinking. This was when he was 17. His father finally started becoming like the father that he had always wanted. But well, it was a bit too late for Ruby. After all, 17 years was a long time and the only relationship that his father could save was with Ruby's younger siblings. But Ruby was still proud, struggling to keep his father on the right track and make sure that he didn't slip because he had already gone through his father quitting alcohol before. It lasted 2 weeks before he was back on track. However, that was before and this is now. Meeting Ruby's father nowadays is terrible for Ruby himself. He can't stand the fact that his father denies not being there for his children before and acts like he was always this perfect dad.
Fast forward to Ruby in his last year of high school. He still hadn't decided what he wanted to become. After all, before, all he did was worry about his siblings as if he was the father. Never worrying about himself. But his grades were still great. He had to make sure to keep them up so that he could teach his siblings after all. That and he could sell test answers on the down low. And one day, it hit him. He was at home with his 5-year-old sister sleeping in his lap after he had read a bedtime story to her. He loved to teach them about the world and ready them for what was going to be thrown at them later. He loved children. The only time he smiled in the past was when he was sure that his siblings were truly happy and that he had done something right.
Moving to shine city was a spur of the moment decision. He could finally move out and his father promised to take care of the kids and they could video chat any day. So, he went to a university and took a 4-year bachelor's degree program. And he got a music degree. Even if he could have become a teacher to the older kids such as middle or high school, he loved little kids more. Now he teaches at a kindergarten and loves his job. The subjects he can teach are reading, math, science, ad music. But as of now, he is teaching math to the young ones. And living in Shine city has been great so far.

Ruby's drive is to be someone that no one will ever say "you're just like your father." Because no matter how much his father changes he doesn't want to be anything like him. Even if he does love him.
What you see isn't always what you get. A positive, risktaking dreamer that has a habit of trying to make those around him happy. Some may see a rebellious bad boy when they see Ruby but it's the complete opposite. Ruby is a sweetheart. A cute guy overall based on his personality. He's used to children and honestly doesn't socialize much with adults. Ever since he was young he never had the time for friends since he was working 2 jobs at a time and 3 if you counted taking care of the family. He seems more and more like a teacher after you get to know him.
The piercings and all weren't really a rebellious phase thing. He didn't have time for that. They were all done to himself by himself because he wanted to feel it. The stress of everything had started building up and well, kids that are only 15 think that appearance changes things. Besides, he's a fan of earrings. Some would call him a masochist for that reason but he'd never call himself that. He just wanted a wake-up call. Something to tell him that pain didn't matter and to stop stressing because he had things to do.
He doesn't really get angry. You'll notice that if you hang around him enough. He uses stupid words as substitutes for curse words sometimes and he just doesn't get mad. Ruby has done a good job at not losing his temper over the years. He's only gotten angry at the kids once and that was regretful because kids hate it when their teachers get mad at them. Ruby won't be mean to you if you piss him off a little because that's not in his nature. Pushing him to his limit is tough and well, let's just hope you don't.
A mature guy for sure. But he does love to take care of others as well as helping people. Ruby has a habit of worrying over friends and family too much. And if he goes out of his way to help, just accept it because chances are he won't take no for an answer if you're in trouble. Even if it's something small he'll help you out. Doesn't matter if he's known you for one day or he just met you. Trust issues? Not so much since he never had to deal with it. That said if he does fall for someone he may be afraid of them leaving.
Ruby is prone to giving out compliments. After all, kids love it when they receive compliments. It boosts their confidence and they feel even more proud of themselves. So he may just do that to adults as well. Whether it's a girl or boy. He's not trying to charm anyone. Especially since he has no idea about charming people. Ruby didn't have time for friends so how could he have time for a romantic partner? He honestly flushes at a lot of things and gets embarrassed pretty easily. But has never experienced love and he's sure as hell oblivious to others romantic feelings. Though he thinks that he isn't.
