“There’s something to be said about a lack of scars.” He said as he placed his tea down. Meredy did indeed seem like a lot. “Well, if you excuse me, Ma’am.”
The butler rose to his feet. Placing the empty tea cup on the table. “I would hate to keep the young Mistress waiting.”

He gestured at the drinks. “Would you like me to return the empties to the kitchen on my way?”
“I appreciate the offer,” Don says with a small bow. “Coin is always helpful. Yet it is not why I fight.” He turned to Neco Arc, “I shall return one day, Coach. Keep a spot open for me. I will return as a legend worthy of your coaching.” He turned back to the Grand Mayor. “I speak only for myself, but if you offer glory and a chance to grow stronger, then I shall accompany you.”

“Now, if you’ll excuse me gentlemen, I am in quite a considerable amount of pain. I wish to have a cold beer, and a warm bath.” He nodded to the Grand Mayor, before turning to wave farewell to Neco Arc. “Buns in, Fangs out, Coach.” He turned to leave. Pausing beside Varius before leaving. “You fight well comrade. May we fight soon. Either side by side or as rivals. But for now, you are welcome to join me for a drink.”

With that Don made his exit. On his own personal quest to find a beer to help with the pain and a warm bath to relax his muscles. He was pretty sure he felt a cracked rib, but it would heal in time. He had fought well. Now was a time of rest.
“A bone flute?” Fingers said quizzically from the darkness. Sounding almost perplexed at the suggestion. The confusion quickly changed. As if a switch had been flicked. The once jovial skeleton was up and pressed hard against the bars an arm reaching through as if trying to claw its way at the one who made the suggestion.
“A bone flute!” He repeated, this time not sounding confused but furious. “How do you suppose a skeleton play a flute you small minded git!” Fingers howled as she rattled and strained against the bars of his cell. “We don’t even have lips or lungs! How you suppose we play a flute!”

There was a small pause as Fingers seemingly takes a deep breath to calm down. “I’m sorry.” He said easing off the bars. “I didn’t mean to lose my cool. I didn’t realise that would have been a trigger for me.” He sounded much more somber. He sat back down. “Well, the answer was a xylophone.” He followed the punchline by tapping a little tune one his exposed ribs.

Fingers paused for maybe a moment too long. Just long enough for the silence to get awkward before leaping to his feet. “Wait, wait, wait!”
Skull pressed suddenly between the bars of his own cell.

“You talking about escape? I can be down for an escape. What’s the plan? Bribing a rat to fetch keys? Using magic to blow the doors of their hinges? Asking a guard politely? Playing dead? Calling for a doctor?…” Fingers excitedly rambled on and on, almost to himself. Listing various plans of escape. Most nonsensical or wildly impractical.
Don turns just in time to catch the exchange. Moving toward where the shield thug had landed moments before. Stepping towards where the shield had landed. “THAT AIN’T ENOUGH TO STOP VARIUS!” He called as he bent down to pick up the shield.

“VARIUS!” He shifts his weight. “Here’s an opening!” Clutching the edge of the board, he twisted his body. Using his immense strength to launch the shield as a makeshift projectile to catch the thug off guard.

Don stepped back to give Varius space to do his thing. Having faith in his colleague, he instead decided to drum up the crowd. “Let’s hear it for Varius!” He yelled out to the crowd. Hands raised up goading the crowd. “Varius!” He called again. “Cheer for him!” He began to pace and turn address as much of the crowd as possible. “Cheer for Varius!”
“I want to get my hands on a talisman.” He turned to the barkeep and placed a small stack of coins on the counter. “Call me superstitious, but I’d rather go off into the woods with a protection trinket then without one. Know where I can get one?” He slid the coins across the counter to the barman. Getting his hands on a genuine talisman would at worst be a good step in the investigation. Or at best, provide him some extra protection when they come face to face with whatever is causing the disappearances.
Don stepped up to the Dockyard bruiser. “They’re changing you name buddy, can’t you HEAR it?@ His hands clapped around the head of bruiser.
He then followed up with not an attack, but a shove. Planting both palms on chests of the attacker and pushing them away.

“A pint of beer, Magic man.” Shiki said the Beast Kin that was boasting g their magical prowess.
“Now back on topic, does anyone have any ideas about those charms the locals are all wearing?” The fact that most of the locals seemed to be clutching talismans seemed odd to Shiki. It was strange for the adventurer. Usually when there was a string of unexplained missing persons, people tended to pack up and leave in Shiki’s experience. Yet these locals climbed to trinkets to protect them. A local guardian spirit? Superstition and naïveté? Something more sinister?
“As you wish.” Timothé said with a small nod before taking another sip of tea. “I assume the Mistress has a house maid, to dress and bathe herself? Or she is contempt doing those things herself?” He questioned.

“I do assume my roles and responsibilities will be more inline with organising security, preparing meals, organising travel, budgeting etc…”
