@Holy Soldier While I understand your concern, I feel what you described won't be much of an issue with this RP. The nature of missions will constantly move characters around and force them to interact with new people. Also, I am mainly advocating collabs for those interactions that are dialogue heavy so that you don't have to wait several posts before typing a few lines.

@Hippo AF Apologies for not getting back to you sooner, but Salik looks fine by me. I would just like some more information on his Ability, such as how exactly his shock waves pin targets and its current limitations (like how strong it is, its effective range, and things that may prevent him from using it effectively if applicable).
@HaltingBlooper I find two to three posts to be a pretty good rule of thumb, but given the amount of people in this madhouse I am goung to advocate the hell out of collaboration posts when interacting with other characters to keep the IC looking pretty.

titanpad.com and google docs are both fantastic for just that.
@Ashevelendar Yeah I know, this one is completely on me. I apologize for the inconvenience, but I thank you for being such a rock star about it.
@Hippo AF Ah, I must have been still typing when you posted that. Anyway, due to a mishap on my end, the top 13 have actually been filled. I apologize for the inconvenience, but I have to ask you to pick a different number.

@Ashevelendar This spills over to you as well unfortunately, as the IX spot was already filled, so if you would like to keep Ashe in the top 13, she will have to take the number XI slot. Hopefully this isn't too much of an issue with you.
And Grey? Well she didn’t want to be on his bad side… again. She sighed hard and started to make a beeline towards the Auditorium. Deciding not to take the detour after all.

Smart girl. Hell hath no fury like a slacker's scorn.

@Xiro Zean Don't worry, you're golden Pony Boy. I can't imagine a situation where I would complain about a post being too long and you are free to provide constructive criticism as long as you respect Rule #2.

@Hippo AF There are a few things that I find problematic with Draco at the moment. To begin with, his ability honestly sounds more like an Enhancement to me, mostly due to the simple fact that it could be explained by science, while most other Abilities cannot. I won't make you change it if you don't want to, but I'm having a hard time imagining how he will keep up with the rest of the cast as the story progresses. As it stands, it really isn't an ability worthy of being considered a B rank, so if you do wish to keep it as is, you should probably bring his rank down to a C perhaps even D. And another thing to keep in mind, while the RP is fueled by pure Rule of Cool, I will still expect a broken arm to be treated like a broken arm. No amount of pain suppression is going to let you use that limb normally, as there will be plenty of things that will simply impossible for it to do from a mechanical standpoint.

That brings me to his personality. The will to throw his life and the lives of those around him is not really something that any of his instructors would have fostered. The Godslayers, especially the ones that are eligible to be sent on missions, are precious weapons that cannot be replicated, so I find it difficult to imagine that any tactic that involves sacrificing one for any and all missions to be something the higher ups would ever consider acceptable. So while I am not telling you to change his personality, just keep in mind that those strategies will be met with considerable, if not insurmountable, opposition.

And finally, my last real concern is, admittedly, a rather nit picky one. We already have a completely unrelated Godslayer named Drake, so having another one named Draco just seems to be needlessly redundant. Again, it's a nit picky concern, thus one I am not particularly worried about compared to the other two, but still something that I felt should be mentioned.

The main thing I would like you to focus on at the moment is his ability, or rather his lack thereof. Whatever you decide, just let us know when you are ready for us to take another look at him.
@Reijin Buru Bah, I knew I was missing something with the intro post. On the surface, the bracelets do serve as a PDA of sorts, capable of sending and receiving messages while also providing mission coordinators with important bio-rhythmic data and the location of any AG wearing them. So in short, they would have received the message on both the bracelet and on their personal terminal in their room.

Which reminds me... I have quite a bit of updating to do on the OOC post when I get back from class today, so look forward to that.

@Holy Soldier I apparently missed some of your previous posts, but I am not sure where you are getting this idea that I am going to be some kind of malevolent GM that is going to cackle gleefully and deny your character's progression or "police" you. Believe me, I want this RP to fun and interesting for everyone, yourself included, but that means that he had to be toned down a bit so that he wasn't outclassing everybody by miles from start to finish. And it's also not like I'm singling you out on this, as I've had multiple people tone down their characters for the sake of a balanced RP and I will continue to make calls on everyone in order to maintain the Rule of Cool.

Also, I am completely fine with him being above average in most physical attributes compared to other AGs to make up for how vanilla he will be at the start, that's why the only limitations I asked you to place on him was on his regeneration and the number of abilities he can learn. He will be fully capable of dealing with the fiends that he will face at the beginning of the game. Essentially, he is the wizard in a DnD campaign: limited at the beginning, but a versatile monster that few can compare to come late game.

And while there is some shred of truth to what you say about it being indirectly up to me how strong your character gets, you need to keep in mind that it is ultimately up to you to think of new ways to combine and utilize the Abilities he learns. An untested group that has never seen real combat will not be sent against the strongest, most terrifying Fiends known to man. I don't want to spoil anything, but Xiro Zean hit the nail on the head when he said that this RP will be about growth and development, so I need you to have some patience and let believe me when I say that he will be plenty powerful when it comes time to fight a God.
@Xiro Zean I don't see a problem with that. But seriously, killer bunnies or not, I should have been asleep hours ago.

Glorious GM signing out!
@Rune_Alchemist You can call off the adorable hit squad, as we are live 12 hours later than I planned right on time!

THE IC IS NOW OPEN

What this means is that you folks are now welcome to start on your introduction posts. For now, focus on getting your character into the Auditorium one way or another and feel free to chat/suplex your siblings.

I feel like I have been making too many apologies lately, so for now I will simply promise to do a better job of staying on top of this.

Now onto other business.

@HaltingBlooper Indeed, I did decree it a while ago but it seems like I did do a poor job ensuring you and @Ashevelendar got the memo. I would much prefer it if you two sorted it out before your introduction posts if at all possible.

@Holy Soldier I mean no offense, but I'm not sure where you are seeing these over powered characters you mention. I did my best to ensure that every CS I accepted was relatively equal in overall power level and potential, so any insight on what I missed would be greatly appreciated.

The problem I had with Rabbit was the fact that he was functionally immortal and had the potential to learn every single world shattering Ability in the RP with little to no outright costs, limitations, or weaknesses. Compared to that, I don't see a single character that has come close to that level of power. And while other characters have access to one ridiculously powerful Ability, Rabbit has access to multiple with very few limitations. Hell, I still think he is all around one of the strongest characters in the RP just for that simple fact, not to mention that he is faster, stronger, and more durable than other AG's. If you must insist though, I would consider him Rank C at the lowest, because his over all ability to kill Fiends is quite high and will only continue to rise as the RP moves forward.

On the subject of Gods, I do agree that killing one should be a truly epic feat. But if they were of the power level that you mentioned, there simply wouldn't be an RP here, as there wouldn't be any way that humanity could have survived first contact with beings like that. Furthermore, it also severely limit character design, as they would be required to have very samey Enhancements/Abilities to be able to tank through attacks like that consistently. So while I admit few, if any, of our characters would be able to survive attacks of that scale, I don't think it is a bad thing nor does it lessen the tension and excitement that will come with fighting Gods.

Director’s Office
6:32 PM

The man went over the list again, for what must have been the hundredth time that night. On the plethora of illuminated monitors before him were dossiers, each labeled with a roman numeral and accompanied by a picture of each subject. While there were a staggering number of these files open across his screens, they hardly scratched the surface of the number that they had on file. As of the latest “batch,” their numbers now stood at 255, although only a fraction were ready for the trials that stood before them.

And as the head researcher and acting director, it had fallen on him to hand pick which of his creations, his Godslayers, were to set out the following morning. A weary hand traced through black hair, which was streaked with mottles of gray that had arrived far ahead of schedule, as an equally exhausted sigh escaped him. The day had disappeared all too quickly as he attempted to draw up squads, but now indecision and doubt wracked the man.

Of all the Godslayers, not even twenty of them were being considered for their first operations. No matter how much time and energy was put forth, it was impossible to ascertain exactly why each successive generation of AG’s were weaker than the last. There was variance of course, but as it stood, the only ones that were truly ready for combat were the ones on his list. The consequences were far too dire to risk losing any one of them due to his incompetence. But it was far too late to turn back now, so with steadier hands, the doctor began typing…

This is Doctor Raymond Verner.

Those of you that are receiving this message will be expected to report to the Auditorium at 6:00 AM sharp. There you will be split into your teams and be briefed on your first mission. No more training, no more practice, from here on out the real fighting begins. Work with your teammates and protect one another other at all costs.

Failure is not an option.

It wasn’t an incredibly long message, but Verner had never been known for rousing speeches. Still, it got the job done so he didn’t concern himself with it all that much. Satisfied, the doctor sent out the message and leaned back in his chair, his hands supporting the back of his head. It was almost difficult to believe that it had already been fifteen years since he first embarked on this path. But yet, here he was on the day before the fruits of his labor would be measured and weighed.

“I can only hope that it will be enough.”

The Auditorium
The following morning, 5:45 AM

While AG HQ housed many facilities, few traded in function for form quite like the Auditorium. It was sleek and stylish, much unlike just about any other room that had been designed with a keen sense of pragmatism in mind. Nevertheless, both Godslayers and personnel are trickling in to gather for the day’s briefing. Few had really been in this room before today, as its true purpose was only now being realized.

Whether you have been here for an hour already or are still just waking up, it is clear that today will not be like any other. Today you will come one step closer to slaying a God.
@Xiro Zean The original plan was to open it up today, but college and work dark forces have conspired to keep me from getting it ready. Expect it up by tomorrow at the latest.

@Reijin Buru That'll work for me, go ahead and plop him into Character Tab.
