Alia sat cross-legged on her chair as she fiddled with the corner of her cape. She was slightly nervous about this operation. She may have fantasized about having magical battles, but it was actually kinda scary to be doing it for real, now that she thought about it. At the same time, though, there were going to be magical battles. It felt so exciting to get the chance to participate in one. Ancient rituals and summoning the dead.... the time for adventure and wonder was coming.
The thought of a Capture the Flag event was interesting as well. It would give Alia a chance to get to know everyone's spells, as well as figure out how to work with each other. Alia then asked, "Do you know how many people performed this recent ritual? And how many of them should we expect to encounter in the ruins?"
Important items: Magician's Outfit: The clothing Alia wore when she first obtained her Spells.
Short Bio Ever since she was young, Alia had been obsessed with the world of fantasy. The thought of seeing spells flung about and swords clashing against shields got her heart racing, and she felt like she could almost experience it herself. Unfortunately, she lived in reality, so she knew that her world was not that world. It was what made fantasy that much enjoyable, though, and she put in much effort to enjoy it, from exploring the various worlds of fiction within books and movies to attending cons and meetups. It was one such con that she attended when she first found a fancy-looking grimoire within her box of goodies, soon revealed to be a Malakim Record when she opened it. At first, she was thrilled to be able to use magic. It was a dream come true for her. And the thought that others were doing so excited her even more. The world was changing. Sadly, that change did not take a good turn. Many saw those who had obtained their magics as freaks and were discriminated on. Alia had not had a chance to reveal her newfound magics, and feared the same discrimination would be inflicted on her if she tried. Still, Alia wanted to believe the best in people with magics and make people see that magic was a wonderful thing, not something to be feared.
-Fire Ball (World): A ball of fire is conjured and launched at a target. It can home in on a moving target, arcing to change its course, but can still be dodged if enough effort is made to avoid it. Upon impact, the fireball explodes and the area is set alight.
-Wind Blast (World): Creates a powerful gust of wind, blowing away those in the affected area. Lasts for up to 5 seconds.
-Earth Shatter (World): Sends energy into the ground, creating cracks as it travels and producing a powerful tremor along the affected area. Typically used to destroy the enemy's footing and force them to stumble and fall. Can be focused into a small area(s) to only affect certain targets.
-Water Cannon (World): A stream of water is conjured and fired at a target. Power can be adjusted, ranging from a small trickle to a sudden torrent.
-Power Wall (High): A field of energy is created, providing protection from magic. Can be given shape in various ways, whether it be a wall, a dome, or simply covering a person like armor. Can provide further protection from physical damage by including Condensed Mana.
-Combo Cast (High): Combines two of Alia's own spells to cast a new spell with their combined effects. A spell can be Combo'ed with itself. The effect(s) of a Combo'ed spell must fall within the respective Schools of the original spells. The drain on a Combo'ed spell will typically be higher than the combined cost of the original spells, and may be even higher depending on the complexity and power of the spell.
@Scarifar, Barrier can be buffed by using 'Condensed Mana' to protect against physical damage (although armor-piercing bullets can still penetrate it).
