but then you showed up. its nice to see another being, considering I've been effectively held against my will by my 'friends', stripped of my abilities, and told that if I didn't 'fix' myself, that I wasn't getting any of that back, not to mention the fact that while I'm toting around in my little land of make believe, many of my comrades could be dying, right now.

I mean... you'd technically be damaging yourself, but touché.
I'd still suggest you fly up to those clouds and try your exit method there though, since conscious damage is more easily repaired then unconscious damage. At best you'll still probably end up with a killer headache by my best guess. Not really sure what the worst would be though.
