Late at night, as the engine rumbles, the crew fast asleep, a lonely soul wanders through the corridors of the Veritas Lux Mea, wailing about the sorrows of his past. No one ever cares, but still Cookie insists on singing his life's story to the crew. Maybe someday, someone will finally listen.
Life isn't easy for a space cat. Cookie spent his first few months of life learning the family trade of hunting on Maria's family farm, and a hard life it was indeed. The humans enslaved him, as they had done his ancestors before, and forced him to work tirelessly in order to keep pests out of the gardens. Day and night he roamed. He longed for a day when no more would these filthy peasants use him as labor, nay, they would serve his bidding.
When Maria moved out, she kidnapped Cookie and took him with her, despite his heartfelt protests. Though Cookie dreams of freedom, he still remains a servant, living only to provide labor to his cruel overlords. But Cookie has his revenge. When the humans aren't watching, he steals their powerful objects and hides them in a place he knows no one will ever look. One day, he will amass enough wealth to leave this wretched place and start a rebellion to overthrow the evil humans.
Then, finally, all will be as it should be.
