I would've given the dragon lord something like Dirge or Draeden. It's cooler, has a sense of strength to them too.

Naming for the Prince and King seem to switch between Russian, German and French. The rest are pretty standard though.

Probably give an ice mage a cooler name, since I assume he'll be somewhat of a rival character too (and romance option maybe were this a game).

Some names you really need to think through.

Have you thought about naming conventions? In the long run, having a naming convention set out and abided by, will actually increase immersion. So say you have a distinctly French naming convention for one nation, whenever a new character is introduced by name alone, you can already tell they're of that particular nation, or related to it in some way, without needing the description that they are from that nation. It's pretty neat.
Hey guys, not really relevant to the RP but I wanted to ask for some help brainstorming for a short story I'm writing.

Alright, firstly the main character has really awesome magical powers. Too awesome in fact. She was born with such extraordinary powers they would consume her if they were ever fully unleashed. To protect her her parents sealed her powers away within a partition in her soul. Now the story starts when she's about fourteen. She encounters an ancient ruin a couple miles from her village and the local kids dare her to go in. She does and finds some sort of magical artifact inside. She touches it and whatever it is damages the binding magic holding her powers. She gets super magical abilities and when the towns people find out she is reported to the royal guard and taken to the palace cause in this world all mages belong to the crown. As the story goes on and she uses more of her powers they grow stronger and the binding magic weakens then we have to deal with the issue of when if fails completely she will violently explode. Now what I need help with is what exactly was that artifact in the ruins. It needs to be something dangerous that she won't tell the king about but past that I'm at a lost.

On another note I could use help with naming some of my characters.

Here they are:
  • A dragonlord who is capable of taking human form. He is special among the dragons in that he can summons wild blue flames that are hot enough to melt dragon scales.
  • The king of Brendol where our hero grew up. His leadership owns mages and trains then into fearsome warriors or else they die in training. It is not a fate to be envied.
  • The hero's foster father. A book binder and something of an expert in magic. After her contact with the artifact he bound her a grimoire to try and contain her abilities.
  • The prince of the land, a man of mischievous intent and not nearly as cruel as his father.
  • The Arch Mage of the realm. An older man who commands powerful magics. He is not malicious but is not above causing incredibly pain or pushing someone beyond there limits to gain knowledge. The hero's teacher at the castle.
  • An ice mage who is partnered with the hero. Though an honorable fighter is completely devoted to the king. At some point the hero betrays him.
  • A young girl with fire magic that the hero is sent to apprehend in the name of the king. Remind the hero of how she once was.

Any of these you could help with would be amazingly helpful. I've sort of hit an impass.

If it's a good enough story then losing a couple of the rules won't matter to me as long as it follows the spirit of the contest.

I can give you some names, but I've no idea what their full backgrounds and personalities are to make rather fitting names.

Instead, probably assign naming conventions to certain civilizations, towns, etc. And simply abide by them.

If you go to the site "behindthename" you can also assign meanings if you find a fitting one.

You can have fun with it. Make the names ironic, fitting, an allusion or foreshadowing to their fate or destiny, you can make it both ironic and fitting because maybe they were fitting for the name early in their life, but changed greatly later on, making it ironic.

Loads of neat things you can do.

"Cosplay... Hmmm...", certainly sounded fun, actually the prospect was fun enough that he immediately began thinking of what he could cosplay. There were quite a few he could fit, but before his reaction was to be confused with something else, he continued.

"Sounds like a lot of fun, I'd like that", she sewed this herself. That was impressive, considering the choice of character too. In any case...

"And yeah, I'll be watching it soon, I already have my ticket", after that, they bid farewell to one another.

"Cosplay huh...?", he wondered if Kazuki would allow them to wear costumes while in the dungeons...
Samael | Shrine

*Clap* *Clap* *Clap* *Clap* ... *Clap* .... *Clap*....

"W-wait... Are you guys done already?... Shame, it was rather entertaining, and I haven't even finished half of this, would any of you like a bite? I've had just about everything in this fun fair already", Sam's voice jarred the flow of the atmosphere for that moment. From serious and life threatening, to calm, and then absolute nonchalance. He was seated quite comfortably on one of the benches, with a rather good view of everything happening. As the girl named Shi began to relax and pull out a bottle, Sam immediately recognized what she had in her hands,

"Oh is that sake? Can I have some? I'll trade, I've still got some takoyaki left", he offered. He appeared to be a little bit of an idiot, but the way he handled himself at all times said otherwise... In any case, there didn't appear to be any kind of threat here.

Again though, no one appears to have asked who he is, not that he cared. Whatever this Vongola business was, it was clearly second priority to him behind food and drink.

"Oh, Shizu...", or... Was it her? Well, he only recognized her thanks to her voice. She was cosplaying today, like the last time he saw her, he's never really seen her not-cosplaying. In any case, she was dressed as a character from the film.

"Ah yeah, that's why I'm here, I heard the name and...", it was 'Persona'... He scratched his head... He knew exactly what this series was, seeing as he also played the fighting game and so on, but only now for some reason is he realizing... Oh well. It's not important. Fiction and reality, and all that after all...

"Nevermind, it's nothing... I almost didn't recognize you in that costume, it's good. You just finished watching the movie?", he returned his focus back to Shizu.
I know UBW is out, but it being an epilogue episode kind of explains it.
Well after seeing This, I propose Beacon has a self-defense class! Or fighting tournaments in which our characters duke it out only using hand to hand combat.

This looks like a Fate I have no clue about. It says Stay Night but...
Jack Orpheus | Dragon's Den

Jack emerged from the next room and into the main casino floor with the Clown slung over his shoulder. Seeing as this one in particular wasn't a clone and was in fact the real one, it'd probably be best he be locked up somehow... Otherwise he might have to deal with him again. As he entered, he spotted officer Murphy, and the rest of his team minus Mokuren. She missed out on a lot of things, hopefully she wasn't getting into any trouble while this was all going down...

"Yeah yeah, got your evidence right here", he said, ruffling into his coat and then pulling out a few documents. The same ones, proof of transactions of the Dragon's Den, but they all bore the mark of the White Fang.

"And does it matter that much? They don't gain anything by incriminating this place purposely, and besides, it's perfect evidence for the trial so why not", he commented. Granted it did concern him too, but he didn't find anything obviously bad about this. Maybe it would be a problem later... It was possible they were forged...

"Anyways, now that you got this on lockdown, here's this guy... And then if you got time, break into the back room. There are loads of documents down there", Jack threw the Clown off his shoulder and onto the ground. Dude was out cold, and only now was he getting a better look at his face. For one, he had a black eye, courtesy of Jack. Wait, there's two... Why tw- Oh right, that first time he punched him...
