Jack Orpheus | Aftermath

"What're you two talking about back there? Come on! Maybe if we're fast enough we can get something to eat", he called back.

"Oh wait... Hey Murph, Mokuren, she going to be okay...? I mean... She is still part of this team, we can't leave her here...", he stopped in his tracks as he commented this. It was true, as anti-social as she was, she was assigned to this team, and thus it was duty they work and stick together. He knows they lost track of her, what was she doing? It matters most that she make it back to Beacon too, but it'd be a lot easier if she didn't just disappear like this.
So what we do now team?
Chiaki's is next.

I'll talk to you about your dungeon Diabolic, since yours is mid-game.
It's okay. We'll just repel them by beating them at children's card games.

"Hm, not bad...", was what he said, but what he had in his hands was a mountain of merchandise they were selling on site. He obviously enjoyed himself quite a bit. It was getting late, so he decided it'd be best to head home and eat dinner. Apparently his parents were going to be home for a few days this week. It wasn't often they could all eat together.

Apparently he heard that it was okay to visit her now, so he headed inside. Leiko seemed to be doing okay from what he saw. She seemed to be in better spirits too... Then again being unconscious was all he had to compare her current state with. He was told police were here this morning too, which didn't surprise him, and yesterday it was family.

"I see you're up...", he called out to her, walking to her.

"Here, a uhhh... Get well gift, I guess", he pulled a keychain from his pocket and handed it to her. It was a Mitsuru keychain...

"Are you okay now?", he asked.

"Hopefully you can be out before Golden Week ends. It'd be a shame to be cooped up in here for the week off... But you must have some questions... It'd be best to wait until we all meet up together again, this isn't really the time or place, sorry", what with everything that happened, everything was almost like a fantasy... No one except those who have experienced this would believe them after all.

"Although, here is my number. If you need something, or something happens, give me a call", he stated, handing her a scrap of paper with his number on it. After that he began to walk towards the door.

"Oh and... Everyone in the drama club is happy with you as president. It's really energetic they say", and with that he left.

Game Over Arcade

They were having a fighting game tournament today. Warakuma was small, and not of note like those in Tokyo, but players from the area love it when they hold tournaments, since it was a chance to show off their skills. Rui didn't usually enter tournaments, it was a little stressful and there was quite a bit of pressure somewhat, but he entered the one here, since it felt a lot more laid back. Honestly he just wanted to play. Having come from the city though, he knew a lot of tricks and nuances you gain from playing a lot. The game today was... Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, the second rendition that was updated in February it seems, noted by the changes to the Shadow characters. He wondered if there were any familiar faces... Speaking of which, this was where he met Noboru when he arrived in Warakuma around a month ago... Not that was important, but he just felt like noting that.
Ya'll better wrap up that day, I'm going to move to next day soon.
Hm. Was I ignored...?
Valerius | Starchaser

"So over there is the Orion's Belt, apparently it used to have more stars based on some books, but now it's missing a few. Then here is another constellation, I forgot what it was called",

"That's the Aquila constellation captain",

"Oh right, Aquila", Val and Patches were just sitting in the front deck with two of the invading pirates sitting between them, there was a noticeable feeling of fear simply emanating from the two pirates. From the area around them you can see slashed corpses and absolutely destroyed bodies courtesy of Patches. It appears that some more pirates came in and thought in larger numbers they could take these two on, well they were wrong and the last two decided to give up. After awhile, Ana called over the communications.

"All dead? Power to the guns...? Oh right, the guns...", he turned to Patches who was still speaking to the pirates.

"Now see, over there is the Aquarius",

"Hey Patches, let's power up the guns",

"Oh? We going to blast that ugly pirate ship to smithereens? Smithereens, that's what you people say right?",

"Yeah, but I prefer 'to the next Monday'", the two got up and just left the two pirates there, fear-struck, talking as they left.

"Next Monday? How does that work? Why Monday?", Patches hit the switch to open the door as Val stepped through.

"I thought it'd be like hell, you know, no one likes Mondays",

"Oh yeah, I totally get that. Now, every Monday that damn queen spider would always...", and thus the door shut behind them.

"These people are monsters..."

"Jake, I'm... Absolutely convinced that... One of them really is a... Monster..."
So me and Patchy just relaxing in the front.

You guys having fun back there?

Not a bad idea but this also has to be the magic that damages the binding spell on the main characters powers. While a slave crown (to quote Final Fantasy XI) would be both an interesting idea to toy with and something to be kept out of the king's hands I don't see how it would be able to do damage to another kind of enchantment.

Oh you're talking about the item she touched. Still, naming conventions. I do suggest you make and abide by them once you do, especially if you're writing this for the long run.

Next, I think the item should be a more neutral force, and part of something greater. Like...

Fragment of Riviera: The Riviera is an object of myth and legend, and is said to be the essence of an ancient civilization that used magic as it's power source. The Riviera is not a single object though, writings found within ruins tell of them being used to power cities, suggesting that they were numerous. In some ruins lay fragments of these mystical power sources, though due to being fragments, their magical power is continuously being emanated, powering the ruins around them, and keeping traps active. Many of the ruins with fragments within them are too dangerous for any normal exploration party, so skilled warriors are sent after them instead. Because these items emanate so much magic, it is dangerous to touch them. Many have reported to have turned into ether, the raw essence of magic, due to their bodies being overloaded, and any defensive spells were broken, and any binding spells applied to it were simply overpowered. They can only be handled with a special satchel that suppresses magic.

A fragment of Riviera can earn someone two lifetimes worth of money if they sell it to the right people, all the same they are in demand by nations to possess, in hopes of having enough to create their very own full Riviera one day.

Traits
  • Power source, can be the focus of an energy crisis.
  • Possesses huge raw magical power anyway, so can be used for death machines or whatnot.
  • Generally a power source, small fragments could even be used for character's magical weapons.
  • Also very valueable, if there is a rush for these, you can easily introduce thief or outlaw characters, or characters who want money.
  • Has historical and magic-scientific properties, allowing those kinds of characters to also become involved.
  • Ruins containing them are dangerous, making the main character and her partner's entry into one have more sense, and discovery of the fragment, more exclusive.
  • Due to being raw and overpowering other magics with pure magical power of it's own, can easily be what breaks the main character's magical bindings.
