Test seemed simple... Reach the exit, obstacle course, though by the look of this massive crater and the natural environment beneath, this was deceptively simple, added in that they'll have to consider all the other students. He mentioned hindering too... Well that was going to be interesting. Still, he had no intention of wasting his time down there. It should be relatively easy for him to move through on his own, anyone who would target him alone would find themselves in a very terrible situation after all, he knew full well how useful his semblance was in combat.
The grading was going to be on individual performance... But he had a feeling that seeing as hunters and huntresses would be working together quite frequently, helping another person reach a good time alongside yours would look a lot better. There were probably going to be Grimm down there too, which is very likely the primary threat, and reaching the exit may not be possible for a single person, it may be likely that some giant Grimm was waiting for them there.
It wouldn't take long to memorize the goal, but it was strategising and preparing for what lay ahead that would be a bigger concern for him. He can quite easily avoid and slay Grimm, and can use his semblance to make some creative escapes or flanks, otherwise... This seemed pretty straightforward.
As the group walked through the small thicket, and spotted Pokemon scampering around, Rylen was enjoying himself while it seemed Hotaru was looking out for something interesting. Ian seemed to be fixated on his egg, Rylen didn't quite notice the egg beginning to form cracks, as he was having a blast just seeing these Pokemon. He spotted a small group of Starly fly away, a few Pokemon seemed to be foraging until they noticed the group, before running, as they stepped through the small dirt path, slowly becoming grass, they saw a clearing.
It was just any normal clearing, but they could hear the cries of Pokemon from it. Rylen sped up a bit thinking it might be some Pokemon who were hurt, but he was only half right. A Rufflet. He pulled out the Pokedex he almost forgot he had, and scanned it.
"It stands up to massive opponents, not out of courage, but out of recklessness. But that is how it gets stronger."
Other info on the Pokedex suggests they're common in mountainous areas, and uncommon mostly anywhere else, sometimes in forests too. So this was also a rare opportunity. It seems this one went further away from home likely deeper in the forest in search of opponents.
"Sounds like my kind of guy", he commented. As he did, the Rufflet handily beat it's current opponent, a cowardly Staravia, before spotting the group of trainers. Both the Rufflet and Rylen's Larvitar locked eyes, before he stepped forward. Despite Larvitar being a little smaller, it seems to have recognized some strength in it...
"So it wants to fight huh? Alright, let's do it", he began, as Larvitar stepped into the clearing. This wouldn't be their first battle, he's had plenty of battles against other trainers who trained at the Dragon's Den, but he never won any of them. Why? Because he picked them, but they were all trainers with anywhere between 1-8 badges, so right now, the Rufflet was reminding him of home. He admired that trait, to stand against stronger opponents.
As Rui walked over to the room Shizuka was staying in, he saw Matthew walk out and away, and past him, he didn't even see him. He spotted tears too. He peeked in just in case and the moment he got near the open door he could feel the thick atmosphere that made hearts sink. He slowly backed his head out and away...
"Okay... Now may not be the best time...", he said to himself, as he decided to head home, and come into contact with her again later to speak of the dungeons and all that's been happening.
Warakuma High- After School 1/7/2015
It was a Wednesday, after school. The three from the dungeon a few days back, Shizuka, Masahide and Mako, all were discharged at differing times of yesterday, and skipped school that Tuesday, so they were back in classes Wednesday today. With summer break only two to three weeks away, everyone was excited... But also under pressure. Exams were on the very last week after all. Like some kind of ominous gate way, if they didn't pass, that meant they had to take extra lessons during summer, which would not be fun. Still, now that it was after school, and it was clearing out, some to study, others for leisure or club, Rui went looking for Shizuka. Unbeknownst to him, a familiar hawk had entered the school grounds and seemed to be making this area it's territory.
From now on I'm gonna notify people who didn't area label as they post from every post onwards from now. I think we'd decided a dozen pages back it'd be a good idea too.
So starting with... @MissFortune Ye. You know what you must do.
They were now in Route 2, after having left the mart. The Casteliacone stand that was near the gate earlier was now basically deserted, the owner of the place was visibly quite distraught, a "rough day" he says. There was quite a crowd here before if he remembers, but based on his reaction it wasn't a good day... Well whatever had happened, it was over now, and the three were out onto Route 2.
It was a popular place for families to go out to, plenty of Flying, Normal, and Bug Pokemon lay about here, not so much on the main road and main areas, but more in the detours, since this was such a popular area, a lot of Pokemon tend to avoid the main roads. Sure enough from the road you could see families already out here, and some kids playing with their Pokemon, there was a preschool too pretty close to the gate.
"Alright, we're gonna take this detour", he said, turning towards a small dirt road that led into a moderate thicket. It curved a bit too, and curved back towards the main road, but being the less beaten road...
"There might be some Pokemon back there, plus maybe a good spot for a picnic", he reasoned.
