They say it's about the journey, not the destination. This is true of many things. Pizza delivery is not one of them.

TFW you know what you want to happen but the words aren't cooperating. Why is plot suddenly so much harder to write?

Glad to see I'm not the only follower of Lord Cato, god of wisdom, on this most auspicious Superb Owl Sunday.

Bio

I am an adult, though I don't usually act like it. I'm a voracious reader, and not overly picky about books. I am artistic in a variety of areas, including music, drawing, writing, and sculpting. I have a minor obsession with dragons, and love the color violet. Fantasy is my preferred genre, be it past, future, urban...as long as it has a fantasy flavor to it. I also like scifi, mystery, and some horror. I am crazy, and I like tormenting my characters. But I don't bite...much. ^.~

The sylph didn’t mind being all but dragged, nor did she mind going through Yggrasil. She had a fondness for the tree that stemmed in part from the risk, though she was careful not to press too far. Better to be sensible than to sate her curiosity, as much as she might wish to. Sini had never gone particularly deep without one of the court Fools, or Nyx, or someone the tree liked. She wished she could tell what it thought of her. Indifference, most likely. Tolerance was probably all she could ever hope for.

The Archon was waiting, and she ran a hand through her hair to get it out of her face as he jibed at her about her avian spy. “Ears he has, but not so good as his eyes. I do not intrude on the discussion, as much as I might like to. I watch for a sign something has gone wrong, or for your signal.” It was a point where their opinions differed. Sacred and protected Stonehenge might be, but that did not prevent a ruler from striking another down -- or unaligned fey attacking one or more of them. Just because it was unwise did not mean none were foolish enough to do so. It was the same reason the border patrols were increased while the Spring ruler was away. Attacking a distracted enemy was a good strategy. Sini would not let Spring be so distracted as to fail to defend itself, or its Archon.

“News of Fall doesn’t surprise me. Unfortunate, but it must be dealt with as it stands. I am glad to hear that trade has not been interrupted, though Summer’s distraction...” Sini’s eyes moved to the singing Awenyddion. “I would guess it had something to do with Winter’s queen?” They might be older than she, but flights of high emotion always made her think of the fey in question as younger. She had to be careful not to let that impair her judgement. “Spring had no problems that brought anyone to find me, and I did not have time to check with the guard before your summons. I believe the Captain would be a better informant than I, after so short a Moot. I am surprised, it was very brief compared to many years. Either things went very smoothly, or I worry that there will be trouble in the future.”

@Mokley When Nor says she'll go, does she mean go back and get killed? Or go forward with Grace and Amune?

@Mokley I had...half a post done. Let me check it.

Right, she was gonna sense Rose with the god's power in her before the woman showed up, and freak out a bit. A bit of vision, gods are bad and cause death and destruction. Grace using magic elicits revulsion. Magic is Bad, if not evil, and blood is never a good thing (though at least Grace is using her own and not someone else's). She'll manage to unfreeze enough to flee, but if/when she senses the woman reaching out to the god in the cave -- and she can sense the god in the cave and really doesn't like going farther into its domain -- she's going to freak a bit. Maybe a lot. ^.^;; Because seriously they just ran away from one and why are you inviting another to come play?!

@chukklehed Well yes, but that's obvious. =P
@Belle Hee, best of both worlds, then~ <3
Also I wonder, why did she give Falk the task if she didn't want her heart thawed? Guess she didn't realize she'd be afraid of feeling again. <3 Heee, she reminds me of Alys~
@Belle Music works? Well huh, that's...haaa~ I mean, I like it. But HAAAA, not such a good spell that froze it, then. =P Also that's not Falk breaking the spell directly, so does it count?
@Prince of Seraphs

Satisfied that the Moot had ended without issue, Sini was nearly finished with the process of disengaging from her kestrel spy when the Fool snapped the connection entirely. Her head protested the break, and instinct drove her to lift a hand to summon her sword. It was fortunate for Pearl that the spell had already been nearly undone, or the sylph might have been confused enough to attack a perceived threat. But even with a bit of disorientation, Sini was a quick thinker, and regained her wits swiftly. “Pearl.” She greeted the cheerful fey with a wry smile and got to her feet, spreading her wings briefly to shake them out and let them fall into a better position. “Would it truly have been such a burden to wait a little longer?” Still, the headache was manageable, and there was little point in lecturing the Fool. “I presume the Archon is sending for me?”

Indeed, that seemed to be the case. Sini had grown used to Pearl’s strange way of speaking, as the lady had been a fixture in court long before Sini was born, and she’d encountered the Fool often as a child. The wording and manner were always unusual, but there was invariably sense behind them. The bit about where the wild things grew was a touch unclear, but for that there was a simple solution. “Take me to him,” she said, in a tone that was more request than command, her smile a brief flicker and no more.

---

Pearl lead her to the gardens, where the Archon strolled as he waited. Sini fell in at his side, raising one eyebrow. “M’lord Nyx. I am glad you have returned safely, but you look rather wet. I don’t remember seeing any of the other rulers giving you a dousing.” She doubted it had been the result of a threat, once he’d returned to the Spring court and her eyes danced with amusement before she turned to business. “How went the Moot? What new agreements and concerns have we to deal with?”
@Tombprince On me? Or Nikki?
@Belle Looks like Sini won't get to rescue Grexx after all. Ah well.

@Prince of Seraphs Haa, I don't think Sini has too much trouble understanding Pearl. I mean, everything she's said so far has seemed pretty clear.
@LostBrotherGrimm Welcome back! *glomps* ALSO AWWW, A FIRE MOUSE! HAa, but Nikki may tease Eli for that.
Nikki: Aww, wook at da wittle cutie~ *giggling*
