They say it's about the journey, not the destination. This is true of many things. Pizza delivery is not one of them.

TFW you know what you want to happen but the words aren't cooperating. Why is plot suddenly so much harder to write?

Glad to see I'm not the only follower of Lord Cato, god of wisdom, on this most auspicious Superb Owl Sunday.

Bio

I am an adult, though I don't usually act like it. I'm a voracious reader, and not overly picky about books. I am artistic in a variety of areas, including music, drawing, writing, and sculpting. I have a minor obsession with dragons, and love the color violet. Fantasy is my preferred genre, be it past, future, urban...as long as it has a fantasy flavor to it. I also like scifi, mystery, and some horror. I am crazy, and I like tormenting my characters. But I don't bite...much. ^.~

@Vena Sera I'm here! *glomp*
((I though Lya was his second. She got demoted. =P))

She did indeed see the wings and horns, once she was able to look at him properly. But Amuné did not believe in the divine. If gods and angels existed, they were not infallible, nor above suspicion. So her smile as she shook the offered hand was thin. What had Tsitua been thinking, sending someone who made such a fuss? "Mouse. A pleasure, I'm sure." She did not offer her name in return, despite her decision to accept Tsitua's offer, though that was more due to her habit of sharing as few details as possible with those she didn't know than because she didn't want him to know it. "I've decided to accept Tsitua's offer in its entirety." Her expression flickered and she frowned, closing her eyes to better focus on the sensation of being watched. A glance in the right direction didn't help, with the observers being so distant. "The faster we get out of here the better." She hesitated, her gaze sweeping Mouse from head to toe, her senses seeking any impression her magic would give her. But nothing significant came loose in response to her query. "Someone's observing us," Amuné added, figuring that if she was going to let them help protect her the least she could do was keep them informed of the situation.

@TheMinorFall
The Seer paused when she rounded a building and caught sight of Mouse for the first time. He was bright, painfully so at first, and it took her a moment to adjust. But he wasn't someone she recognized. What were the odds that someone else that was more than merely human and practically a beacon just happened to be on the corner she'd designated? Slim to none. Still, just the fact that it wasn't Tsitua made her more wary that she would have been otherwise, and her hand never strayed too far from her knife.

"Waiting for someone?" she asked the man. He was handsome enough to be drawing stares, hardly discreet, but she supposed it worked. There was no way she could miss him, not even at several yards.

((@TheMinorFall short. -.-))
The vampire's smile broadened. "Excellent~ In that case, I'd be happy to serve as a guide, when I'm not working. You're lucky, I'm off tomorrow." His offer of help was met with a raised brow and a thoughtful expression. "Hm, well...can't have you working with the food -- liability issues, you know. But there's always dishes that need washing." As Cera stepped inside, she pulled off her sunglasses. "If you're serious, follow me." She headed back through the door to the kitchens, sticking the shades in a purse and snagging her apron from the hook where it hung.

"What's he doing?" a sharp voice snapped as she turned to head farther in. The source was a short and rather goblinish man, his skin grey-green and his ears pointed.

"Wants to help while he's waiting for me to get off work," Cera replied, her tone blythly unaware of the scowl he fixed her with from beneath heavy brows. He looked at Orion, then back to the waitress with a snort. "And what do you think he'll be doing?"

"Washing dishes."

"...Fine. But if he breaks any, it comes out of /your/ pay," was the snapped reply. "Look here, boy. Wash your hands, follow the rules, keep your nose clean. /Don't/ break anything. No slacking. And if you get in the way, you're out. Got it?" A reply in the affirmative elicited only a frown, and the man turned and stalked off, grumbling.

"Don't let Grimly intimidate you too much," the vampire said softly in Orion's ear. "He acts far worse than he really is. Not that you want him actually angry with you, but he's not so bad once you get to know him." She held out another apron, and lead him to the sinks. "Here you go, cutie~ I'll see you in a couple hours." She gave him a smile and a wink before hurrying away.

((time to skip both of them. I have only a little more for Cera and Orion tonight, most likely...unless he seems amenable to her...ah, sticking around.))

Shortly before six thirty, Amuné texted a street corner to Tsitua. It wasn't in the center of campus, but it wasn't so far away that it wouldn't have people around. She'd said her farewells to those that mattered, including her parents by way of video chat, and taken care of everything she needed to. Now she headed out of her dorm and toward the meeting spot, pulling a small rolling suitcase behind her. When Jareth fell in beside her, carrying a gym bag, she was taken aback but somehow not very surprised. "What do you think you're doing?" the young woman demanded. "You're not going to come with -- what about your classes on Monday?"

"You and I both know that if you have nobody familiar around, you're going to shut yourself in your room and refuse to talk to anyone," he replied.

"I'm not that bad!"

"Well no, but you're hardly much better. Relax, just for a day or two, until you get settled in, okay? Then I'll head back."

Amuné opened her mouth to give a biting retort. Didn't he know just how dangerous being around her would be, until things were resolved?! But something made her stop, nothing she could pin down, just a vague impression. "Alright," she agreed grudgingly. "Let's go."

@TheMinorFall
Cera looked at him with an amused expression. "You speak like I'm some powerless mortal," she chuckled, though she seemed more flattered that he cared than offended. "I doubt it would be that much worse than some of my experiences." She looked a little guilty. "I was rather...wild, as a fledgeling. Hung out with a mixed bunch -- a rough crowd, and we thought we ruled the world. It was a game to us. It may be bloody, but worse...?" She shook her head, falling silent. "I'll say I'm not happy you think I should be left behind," the vampire continued after a moment. "However good you may be, you're still only one, and you don't even know if your Wolf, or whoever is here, is working alone. You should take someone with you. If you don't want me, I can find someone better. After all, it'd be a shame if you got that cute face smashed in." She said it lightly, but once again she seemed sincere.

She pushed off the railing, taking a step closer. "Yeah, I know a motel where they don't ask questions. Not precisely /safe/, but if you want to lay low, that's the spot. They don't take plastic there, though. It's not exactly easy to find, there's a lot of dead ends and one-way streets in that part of town. Makes navigation interesting. I gotta get back inside, and I'm not off until four, but if you don't mind swinging by again I can give you a lift when my shift's over."

((@TheMinorFall Debating who I might have be the guide...though Cera might just do it herself. Probably will for at least one day. ^.^;; Also debating just how interested in him she is. It's obviously not anything deep, but she called him cutie for a reason.))
@Forett. Ebooks are okay, but I feel more connected to a hardcopy for some reason. Equally strange is the fact that, when reading in a vehicle, I get motion sick with a book but not with my kindle.

I have huge lists of books read and to be read, though not all are so good that I would recommend them. I'm a voracious reader, when I have the time. ^.^;;
@Forett whaywhay genre? I'm currently reading Christopher Stasheff and I would highly recommend his Wizard in Rhyme series, starting with Her Majesty's Wizard. What else...if you like dragons and the Vulcans from Star Trek, Seraphina is an instersting interpretation. Scifi, The Ship Who Sang and ...I ink it's Crystal Singer? Both by Anne McCaffrey, both the start of a series. The misenchanted sword is good, too -- that's fantasy again. The Golem and the Djinni is a good one too. And Gordon R Dickson's Dragon Knit series. Raymond E Feist wrote a bunch of books, starting with Wizard (or Wizard: apprentice, depending on edition).
@Prince of Seraphs Sure. And I might bring in an unbound Lei, for the mischief potential. We'd need to sort out pixies versus sprites, though, since I have usually distinguished them by having pixies possess various insect features. I'll also need to figure out details for the species. Waiting on rules for human and changeling magic users to see if Max is a viable possibility. His concept requires access to healing magic in some fashion, and I'd prefer it eventually be his, not an assistant's. He only has healing, though one of those spells also protects both him and his patient on the field of battle. Might not bring that spell. Actually, Iunno if I wanna bring him at all. He's a pacifist and altruistic, and likely to get himself seriously injured without someone to protect him. Need to think on that if chchar death is encouraged...dunno how I feel about that without player consent.

Probably will also bring Rhia. It's a shame that Trill wouldn't work well here, be cause he's fun, but he is best suited to a quest he's forced to go on.
@Forett do you need/want suggestions? I know SciFi, fantasy, and some mystery.
