Current The way some people spell makes me wonder about their pronunciation.

They say it's about the journey, not the destination. This is true of many things. Pizza delivery is not one of them.

TFW you know what you want to happen but the words aren't cooperating. Why is plot suddenly so much harder to write?

Glad to see I'm not the only follower of Lord Cato, god of wisdom, on this most auspicious Superb Owl Sunday.

Bio

I am an adult, though I don't usually act like it. I'm a voracious reader, and not overly picky about books. I am artistic in a variety of areas, including music, drawing, writing, and sculpting. I have a minor obsession with dragons, and love the color violet. Fantasy is my preferred genre, be it past, future, urban...as long as it has a fantasy flavor to it. I also like scifi, mystery, and some horror. I am crazy, and I like tormenting my characters. But I don't bite...much. ^.~

@LadyRunic If it didn't defend Spring? Yes, yes I would. It let a bunch of fey get slaughtered, it let the ruler it had a decent relationship with perish. I suppose that maybe it requires someone to activate said protections, but then there would be a fey on duty for that at all times. If it had to be the ruler, then Spring is out of luck with their current ruler dead until a new one is installed. Might handwave it and have Sini use it to put up a barrier, but with the invaders already in Spring Iunno how effective that'd be.
@BlackPanther ...If Feoras shows up unannounced he will not be welcomed warmly. Sini and the others need to stabilize Spring, and even if he means well there's many fey who don't. Not to mention they'd owe him for the assistance...*considering* I wonder....
Oh, and @various people:

NANO! *waves pompoms* Since I'm out of town for almost half the month, and have a bunch of dentist appointments for the rest...I probably am not playing. It's very definitely "just get the ideas going and get used to writing", and what you turn out may not even be a proper rough draft. But it's good practice, and it feels awesome to be able to look at those pages and go "I wrote that! It sucks, but it's mine!"

...Not to mention I find the Wrimos a wonderful source of encouragement, inspiration, and even friends. I have a circle of friends where I live that I met through NaNo, and they are the best. <3

Gowi, I agree with rping being an excellent tool for honing your skills and keeping the momentum going. You get rapid feedback as you go, and you have one or more other people to add ideas. My personal preference is tiny group rp or collaborative writing. Yeah, I can write alone. I've even managed to win NaNo twice. But I am as much a reader as a writer, and I love being surprised or having the story change in ways I didn't expect, and learning about characters and such that I don't know yet. Not to mention it's a bit easier, in my opinion, when you have someone to work off of.
@Shoryu Magami Just dropping in to give my support. Actually, fun story time~! *sarcasm* I had an old laptop that ran well enough to be used -- until the keyboard finally gave out. Guess when it happened? That's right, the first week of NaNo. Not quite as bad as when you have a school paper due soon, but a close second. x.x

@Gowi@tsukune oh hey people *glomp*
@BlackPanther Hm, I suppose. Sini won't be pleased, but if he explains she'll understand. ^.^
@LadyRunic. Yes, the world tree, which houses the palace of Spring. But I don't understand the context for bringing it up.
@BlackPanther I realize I'm the only one about in spring, and I'm not able to post, but in the ic sense it is perhaps a little odd for Feoras to write the other two and not Nyx (whose death he was not informed of yet). Indeed, I think it might be perceived as a subtle slight, if he left spring out in such a manner. If that is not your intent, perhaps you can add a note to spring when you have the time and energy. There's obviously no rush, and Sini shall deal with it when I am back.

I'm actually in quite a bit of pain at the moment, and since the heavy-duty painkiller I was supposed to get was screwed up by my doc's office, I'm having to make do with OTC meds until I he back from my trip. It's...manageable but not so great, and leaves me with a constant headache even if my jaw isn't trying to rip itself off. Murphy's law at it's a best.

@LadyRunic also why I never got you a pm; I was on the phone with doc, pharmacy, and after-hours nurse. X.x kill me now.
Amuné didn't try to hold him. Even in positions where she would have an advantage against most stronger opponents, she was not certain she'd be able to hold Tsitua, and until she was, she didn't want to risk it. But before she could let go and fall back, he'd turned the hold against her, even as her ability to foresee his actions blurred. She gasped in surprise -- that was not something she'd ever had anyone do to her. Her power was a major reason why she was as good a fighter as she was. While she'd trained without it, and was not bad at all, she was not nearly as skilled unaided. The Seer tried to slip free but he had her outmatched. "Yield," she said into the mat, recognizing when she'd lost. "'Replace the beams with rotten timbers', huh?" She sounded mildly amused. "...Is there any way I can counter that, or is fighting Sightless my only recourse?" The line she mentioned was one of the Thirty-Six Strategems. Amuné had not trained merely in fighting but also a bit in strategy and tactics, though that had been her own idea. She'd felt a need to have some idea of the bigger picture, when it came to a fight, and how to handle people coming for her in general.

Seline and Curly had untangled themselves, and the faint shimmer that marked the illusionist's location went to stand by the door to the kitchen. Curly had fallen back for the moment, but demon and kami were both ready to keep fighting, though they let the two ghouls exchange attacks first. Sini was in motion before Cain even addressed her, raising her katana to strike the downed ghoul with sustained lightning. If she could fry him, she would. Lucius used the chance to reposition himself, going to flank their opponent just in case he wasn't down for good.

@TheMinorFall
@TheMinorFall huh, I didn't even know that was possible. I'm guessing that's a higher-level technique and not many woudl know it, from what you've said. I don't think Amune even knew it was a thing -- wait, she might have. There is /one/ person who has been able to hide himself completely, and rarely shows up in her visions. Thta'd be the owner of the Upstairs, as I mentioned earlier. But I don't think she knew anyone else could. *nods* ...out of curiosity, is there a way around this technique, other than fighting half-blind?
@TheMinorFall Okay~ *sits on*
