As soon as the explosion rocked the ship, Taleste went crashing to the floor, and the box of supplies fell right on top of her leg. She fought free, pumped up by the surge of adrenaline caused by the alarms. After getting to her feet, she inspected her leg. No damage. Hurts like hell, though. It'll probably bruise later. What a great start to her new life, new ship and new crew. She hadn't been here an hour and something had blown up.

She heard the comms ordering her to report in, and she tried to run from the cargo bay to...well, she'll just look around until she found the assembly point. After a few seconds, she realised running was not going to be an option, and limped up the stairs, hand gripped tight on the handrail the whole way up.

"Any whun there?!" she shouted from the cargo bay. "Whut in the cosmos is going on? Where are we even supposed to go?!"

» After graduation from college with a degree in creative writing, he looked for work. For several years he drifted between jobs he did not enjoy. He was a newspaper columnist, then a journalist, then he tried to break into the world of screenwriting but had no success. All the while he engaged in his real raison d'être, writing novels, and of the few that got published, none of them were successful enough to change his life, or do much more than pay a couple of bills for another few months.

Six months ago he got a call from Kevin Harrison, one of his college friends from the creative writing course, who had a high paying and creatively fulfilling job for him; being on the writing team for the biggest wrestling company in the country! Gary had been a fan of wrestling as a child. Most children he grew up with had. He lost touch with it during his teens but to be one of the people in charge of creating the kind of stories that used to hook him as a child, the kind of stories that may have been one of the things to insire him to write, was a dream come true! He naturally immediately accepted.

» Gary practically never gets involved with anything on-screen. That being said he always wears a shirt and suit trousers to work, and always seems to have a plastic coffee cup or porcelain mug glued to his left hand. He's a big coffee drinker.

» Gary, though talented and creative, is not used to a job this intense, and so is never seen without coffee in his hand. He is practically fueled by it. Another side effect of this lack of experience in such an industry is that he will take his holiday hours the moment he accumulates them, though this has not earned him heat as even when he's on holiday, he maintains an online correspondence with the rest of the writing team and still gives input, feedback and ideas. Really, he never stops working. Even when he's at home, he's thinking about the booking. He dreams about wrestling. It's his life now.

» Gary is not the universally loved saviour of the writing team that Kevin is, but he still has a good rep with many of the wrestlers. The process of letting the performers have a hand in writing their promos is a very nice touch. Though they don't have complete control and very rarely get permission to improvise, Gary's method is greatly preferred to the old days when everybody had to repeat the given script word for word, and thus, every face sounded the same, and every heel sounded the same, barring catchphrases and some performers just being naturally talented enough to make it work and others not.

Oscar had been watching Drayden's promo in the monitor backstage. He had been at the site the whole day, and this was the case every day barring weekends, holidays or injuries. His routine was always similar; Arrives at the building at 9:30. Gym until lunch. Then a few hours in the Performance Center. After that, he'd help the crew out with the setup and preparation if he didn't have a match on, and if he did have one on, then he'd be practicing with his opponent the match plan they'd written together the night before. Then, after dinner, he either went out and wrestled, or stayed here and watched on the monitors. Then he'd help the crew after the show ended before finally heading home between 11 and 12.

But today was different. Will had just finished giving his speech about having to relinquish the belt due to an injury. Oscar decided it'd be a good idea to go and check up on his longtime friend and colleague. Their high profile 2006 title feud, when both men hadn't been wrestling for that many years, had help them both to grow incredibly as performers, and ever since, they have been firm friends, and no matter how their position on the card or how their characters had been treated, any time Oscar got back in the ring with Drayden on TV, it was a special match to Oscar.

In the hallway just outside the screening room, Sexton was emerging from the recording room two doors down, and promptly threw up. It was only his long service and status as a veteran that stopped Oscar from losing his shit right there on the spot. No matter what they do, veterans have earned some degree of respect. Even so, Oscar was undoubtedly angry disgusted, and roughly helped Sexton up by the shoulder of his shirt.

"Jesus fucking christ, man!" He spat. "Get a drink of water, clean yourself up and go sit down!"

As Oscar walked away, avoiding the puddle of puke on the floor, he parted with the words "Fucking embarrassment!"

Oscar passed the notice board on the way to the locker room. He took a quick glance at the the plans. He knew beforehand that he wouldn't be performing, but hadn't seen the tournament brackets yet. He took a quick look, and then whistled. Semi-finals! Tht wasn't bad going! Plus he was being put over Savaka. Does this mean they have plans to put him in an IC title feud. That was news to him, though very good news! Oscar had been stuck in the lower midcard for months, which did have its perks, like being able to unwind and watch the rest of the show after getting changed, but it also meant a smaller check. Gethin Rhys was the winner of the tournament it seemed. Odd choice, though Oscar could see the logic to it.

Oscar eventually reached the locker room and found Drayden. "Hey, Will," he started, casually. "You feeling okay? I was going to get something to eat and then go watch Barbie's promo in the screening room if you wanted to come with me. Your girl cuts one hell of a good heel promo. Is she like that when you argue?"
