Success! Airframe watched her hand attached to Hereford wrap around one of the dragon's wings. She heard the girl beside her first mention the wing's membrane, and then began to give commands to everyone including her. This was nostalgic. Just like mission control except without the constant reminders to mind her optics. 'There's a news crew at seven o'clock. Make sure your back isn't facing them. Remember to smile'. On second thought, maybe she didn't miss that.
"Thank you," Wireframe replied with an appreciative nod, a thumbs up and a Hollywood smile. She turned her attention back to the Dragon. Intel was right. Wireframe waited for the right moment. The flying girl has its attention but she still be vulnerable if she commited now and the Dragon saw her too early.
The moment Spotlight three the orb, Wireframe knew what was about to happen. She shut her eyes, tucked her chin into her chest, and then rapidly turned the wire attached to her hand back into her arm. Now, Wireframe knew that trying to anchor the Dragon was a fool's errand. It was much much heavier than her. But she was counting on this. Before the fireball aimed at the brick wall connected, Wireframe shot into the air and zipped up straight to the Dragon's wing. When she reached it, She grabbed gold with her remaining three limbs while pulling the wrapped wire tight.
Oh, Madison's plan is to fire her hand at the dragon and try to get some steel wire wrapped somewhere. It could fail and strike the dragon instead. It could just outright miss. I don't mind leaving that to you.
Madison parked her motorbike in the League of Good office staff car park, and unhooked the tail bag from the back. She left the saddlebags where they were assuming that nobody would try to steal from the League of Good car park. The three bags contained all of her wordly possessions, and the saddlebags were just her clothes. Madison's gym and training outfits were company property and she rarely had occasion to wear civilian clothes so she owned less than three outfits. She was wearing her costume underneath baggy sweat pants and an oversized hoody. It was an old habit of hers to be ready to suit up at a moment's notice.
Madison entered the office and took a seat in the lobby. It's a lot more plush and customer-facing than her old workplace. There were other people sat waiting in the foyer. All of them were in casual clothes with the exception of one girl who looked like she was already in full costume as some kind of Victorian funeral witch. Madison nodded to the girl. It wasn't a bad idea to make sure any prep they needed to do was done now. Madison opened her tail bag which contained an emergency change of clothes, her phone, her headphones, her satchel, her domino mask, one makeup bag and a curling iron.
She had applied blush and lipstick and was halfway curling her hair when Julian Mercer, of all people, walked through the doors, loudly talking to his phone as if he was livestreaming. What was he doing here? Madison didn't feel comfortable being shown on camera when she was only half-ready so turned away until he had passed her. She quickly finished curling her hair before letting her curling iron rest and cool on the floor beside the outlet. She packed away her makeup bag and wasabout to fish out her headphones when a receptionist ran out into the center of the lobby.
Onboarding would have to wait because there was an emergency situation. Madison was not unused to situtions such as this and was calmly putting on her domino mask before the receptionist had finished speaking. Right when she was wondering which vehicle would be used to transport the team to site, a scruffy looking man entered and the next thing Madison knew, she was inside a different building. Or, what was left of a different building. There was a dragon, apparently. Julian threw a spear of light. The Victorian widow girl had created a wall for cover. Madison wordlessly and professionally kicked into gear. She took cover behind the wall and began stripping. She discarded her pants and hoodu to reveal that she had been wearing her black and silver costume underneath. She then climbed to the top of the wall.
Wireframe stood tall with a wide, slightly manic smile across her face. She raised one fist towards the dragon, aiming at one of its wings. Her other hand rested upon her wrist's propulsion device, ready to fire. She waited for it to get just a little bit closer. She seemed to feel absolutely no fear.
Have have two loose villain ideas loosely based on the experiments performed on Madison as an infant. Either one of the scientists themselves with either superhuman speed and strength or telekinesis, or another test subject who has the power of persuasion/hypnotism
From the cast we have so far I find it funny that in public they're a clean, shining almost "To Be Hero X" esque superhero group. And then take the costumes off and are a bunch of awkward losers. Textbook "former gifted kid syndrome" across the board
Madison and Julian probably know of each other. They might even have worked together in her early days before he started college, when he was just a teen television personality and she was a tween fledgeling Hero.
Name: Madison Weaver Alias: Wireframe Age: 22 Gender: Female Family: Dylan Weaver (father, arrested), Dawn Weaver (Mother, arrested)
Appearance: Madison is an inoffensive yet unremarkable girl in her regular clothes. She's the kind of girl that you would think is cute if you managed to pick her out from the crowd in the first place. A naturally pretty face if a little mouse-like, with flat, limp blonde hair worn either down or in a low-effort ponytail. She likes to wear baggy clothes and hoodies that she can retreat into like a tortoise. She never actually does, but the option being there provides her comfort. She is also never without headphones (on her ears or around her neck) and a large handbag or satchel.
In costume, the transformation is truly night and day. Wireframe's lustrous golden hair is curled and styled. Her blue eyes glisten from behind her silver domino mask. Her posture is straight and assured. Her costume is made from a custom lightweight anti-ballistic fabric dyed blackand silver. It is segmented for free use of her powers, meaning her gloves are separate from the fabric on her forearms. Her shoulders and midriff are exposed, showing off her developed and toned arm and abdominal muscles. She stands with a confident posture with a self-assured pearly white smile ever on her face.
Superpower: Madison can selectively turn partsof her body (or even her entire body) into steel wire. The wire is 1cm thick and conducts electricity. It is, for all intents and purposes, steel wire. It contains no musculature or nervous system so Madison cannot feel anything from it or move it at will unless by 'retracting' it back into a body part. Any damage Madison receives to her flesh can be transferred to damage to a length of wire. The wire can be repaired by normal methods of filling or welding wire, which will then leave nothing but a surface scar when transferred back to flesh and blood.
Skills: Madison is skilled at hand to hand combat, situational and field tactics. She is licenced to drive most road vehicles to an advanced level. Most of her PR was done by a PR team including, when possible, script writing. Madison isn't always comfortable with improvisational public speaking, but she is still very good at it.
Equipment: Most of Madison's equipment was privately siezed with the company's collapse. She still possesses her uniform as well as wrist-mounted propulsion devices that let her own hands function as grappling hooks. She has also kept ownership of her custom motorbike that is capable of detaching at the middle and becoming two self-motorized unicycles.
Personality: Madison has spent so long being the archetypal brave, cheerful superhero that she seems nervous, unsure, skittish, hesitant and emotionally immature without that persona. She can often come across antisocial or moody when all that's happened is she's unsure how to respond to the current sitation and has withdrawn into herself. Whenever she does slip back into the larger than life 'Children's television Superhero' persona out of sheer familiarity, it will not take her long to get self-conscious and doubt herself.
Biography: Dylan Weaver was the textbook definition of a corrupt, evil businessman. He blurred the line between a millionsire with shady dealings, and a gang boss with a higher than average number of sucessful fronts. He always manaed to avoid the ire of the law through power, bribesand picking and choosing his battles carefully. The reason for this was he respected superheroes to the point of obsession. By the time he was rich enough to feasable become one himself, his closet was already full of too many skeletons. It was his wife, a failed actress-turned-model, who came up with the idea of living their mutual lost dreams through their infant daughter.
She was subjected to many experiments that resulted in her developing super-powers. She was home-schooled by many strict tutors, not just in academics but in acrobatics, parkour, martial arts, acting, public relations and beauty. She was not some kind of natural-born genuis but no expense was spared and the little girl was bute-forced through grit and effort into becoming peerlessly talented.
Her Hero career began when she was twelve. A bright-eyed blonde girl fighting crime and saving citizens was like something out of children's cartoon come to life. Madison loved playing the Hero. She loved giving interviews. After so long of strict teachers giving minimal feedback, there were now crowds of girls her own age screaming her name. Thank to the nature of her power, no matter how hurt she got in climactic fights wih evildoers, she popped back up the next day with no injuries. Any moral misgivings fell by the wayside as Wireframe felt less and less human as the years went on. She grew more skilled, more exerienced, more confident, more polished. She embodied the character from morning to night so much so that if there was a 'real Madison' in there somewhere, it was buried so deep it never came out. Her persona became her whole life and whole world.
Last year, her parents misdeeds finally left a single loose thread, and they were finally both arrested. It was Madison's wish to keep the familial relation secret, but no companies mean no money means no Wireframe. How could her own father have been one of the bad guys?! Madison spiralled. She wouldn't wash. She barely ate. Everything felt pointless now. One of the staff members who'd worked her PR eventually stepped in and reached out, expressing concern over Madison's mentalstate and suggesting applying to Lafayette City's League of Good. It would require relocating but it would give her another chance to be a Hero.
