Spotlight isn't dissimilar in backstory to my loose idea. My idea was a sponsored, corporate teenage hero who's dad got busted for crimes and she now feels disillusioned but doesn't know what else to do with her life or skills besides take up this new job offer. So for their similarities they're also kind of opposites.
Will try and write my CS as soon as I get the opportunity. Which might be the weekend

Julia leaned back in her chair. She had assurances that her equipment would be returned to her. Not that she would likely have much use for it going forward but it's one of the few possessions she owns anymore. She had already given her details including her new phone number. The Paramedic had told her that she luckily didn't need to be taken to the hospital and just needed to keep an eye on her bandages. Thank god. Having to spend her first night of freedom confined to a hospital bed would have been truly miserable. She watched the paramedics and police leave one by one. Each departure made Julia feel more comfortable and relaxed. She looked down to check her bandage, before getting to her feet.

"I'd better head out. I still need to find a place to sleep tonight. And..." Julia stopped mid-sentence, and appeared to be mulling something over. She shrugged. Oh well, it was worth a shot. She turned her attention to Ken. "You don't happen to have, or know of, any job vacancies, do you?"
I am interested! This sounds like quite a fun concept!
This looks interesting! I'm also interested in filling one of the Varian slots. Thinking a Princess.
The four armed monster was slowly getting back to it's feet. As it did so, a masked woman floated down behind it. This wasn't just a freak case of a rampaging monster. There was something bigger going on. Sam didn't regret any of her actions, but was now worried that she might have just put a target on her back. She'd managed to escape her past so far because any attempt to bring her to justice would need themto exposewhat they'd been doing to her first. But having dangerous people after her because of an a spontanious act of good would be just her luck. Sam was already imagining ways in which she could slip back under the radar after this was over. She'd need to move city again but she's disappeared before.

More heroes had now arrived as backup. Her role as a helpful citizen was over. Now she just needed to evacuate herself and wait for the coast to be clear. The Hero started saying as much, when bugs swarmed out of a nearby shop. The Hero then gaveher orders. Did he...think she was a Hero? She'd have to correct him when everything was over.

It initially looked like that monster and the lady behind him were hesitating, but then the lady ordered the monster to keep attacking. SAm didn't want to kill the bugs. She didn't think she'd be much help and it wasn't her duty as a civilian. The Heroesmust have some kind of trainingor countermeasures for this. But Sam knew she could do something about the Monster. Feeling emboldened from having alreadylanded a blow, she ignored the bugs and began walking towards Kid Cosmo. As she did, she seemed to grow in size until she was the same height as the hulking brute, and much more dense.

"There's enough chaos and destruction right now. Focus on me" she said in a shaky voice more suited for talking down a scary strange dog, than a heroic speech.

Julia nodded, and gave the detective a half-hearted smile. She wasn't used to being talked to like this. She knew in theory that she was now just a civilian, deserving of law enforcement's protection like anyone else. It was another thing entirely to hear somebody tell her such at point blank. She was happy, but still couln't quite look him in the eye. She felt awkward, and undeserving.

"Thank you for saying that. I hope that whatever's coming isn't something that will drag me back in to trouble. I want to try a normal life for once..."

She looked over to Donovan and thanked him when he mentioned the ambulance, then turned her attention to the paramedic. Her injury, once a bleeding gash, was now half the size it had been when inflicted. Though the paramedic seemed amazed, Julia seemed crestfallen. Old age had really slowed down her healing factor. You could barely call this a healing factor anymore. It had been at least ten minutes and she still had a wound.

Julia nodded when she overheard Ken and Sarah's statement. "It looked like shadow powers, yes. That was the first time I'd ever seen him use them myself."
I'm afraid I'm dropping out
My current ideas are to keep the powerset simple yet powerful. I'm struggling between telekinetic, and just super strength+speed classic. Leaning towards a telekinetic
