Alright before continuing on further I got two things in need of address.  
 
First  would be the joke which has all of you all very indignant and hostile. I  myself decided to drop the subject fast. And perhaps wrongfully so  without any sort of apology. I just don't like apologies done over the  internet because its hard to convey sincerity which is important.  That  being said your outrage is bleeding over to the more light hearted "What  if?" scenario as evidenced by the two ad hominem attack CAS1006  & Teancum have already done which have nothing to do with the  scenario itself.  And I tire of it as it's getting silly and it's unproductive  to get mad at people over the internet.
 
That  being said: I apologize for the remark. And I desire that the  hostility cease as the browbeating and mob mentality is already far more un-cool than the offending statement.

The what if/cosmology thing:  
 
The scenario isn't really basing itself on the curent rp so much as like a general what if. Also while I personally believe is gonna show his face again I could be wrong.  
 
You got some points there fox about the feasibility of fiend evolution.  However given that the settings cosmology isn't completely written out in stone. I'd say their could be chance of something happening and allowing them to transcend from being generically angry critters.  
 
Also regarding people dieing. While yes it is a big thing I'd say that the fact they got a confirmed afterlife means that they wouldn't be as scared. And would be more accepting of their fate.  
 
Anyway I forgot about then unsent but I figured that the whale or the fiends would get to them and eliminate the problem of their presence.@Jerkchicken

Apologizing is always better than not. And the reason the 'What if?' Still got irritable is how you dropped and switched. It was like you are okay with abuse, basically suicide, and murder. Because the subject switched from abuse to murder and death. 

That's why hostility grew because it came off you were morally, probably a psychopath who wants to kill people.

As for your what if, I do not 100% disagree with fiends possibly becoming evolved into more sentience. But I still think most who were turned into fiends, would just go into being unsent. Who could also possibly, switch between forms as much as they want depending on development and how they emotionally they are.

But, for naturally born fiends, like say Cactuar, it's possible. They are essentially animals in a way. So I find it possible for the natural born Fiend to have a better chance of being a creature'evolving' rather than a human one.

As for assurance of a afterlife, that's also, possibly not. Yes, they could, but they could also be absorbed by a fiend. I do not know what really happens once they get sucked into a fiend that absorbs them. Possibly trapped against their will.

So Unsent being totally wiped out could also be difficult. Cause they also can absorb pyreflies and get stronger from it. And if they were to be wiped out, most of the fiends would have to be wiped out because those born from human could always possibly turn back into unsent. Also Unsent can't be killed, but can probably absorbed.

So it could also still be, a endless cycle.

Also, still not totally agree with people accepting death. They'd have to believe it. So religious people, which since now there are fewer cause Yevon was bs.
