My Very Brief Bio

Male, 33 years old. (I'm even more dead than before.)

Likes (other than writing and roleplaying): I'm into all genres of music. I love to cook. I love the outdoors, and walking through the park near my house. (Yes, really.) I read a lot of thriller/mystery novels. And I usually watch seasonal anime. (Or cooking shows. Because Western Media provides even fewer things that are worth watching.)

But as for my many other neglected hobbies, I've played basically every sport. (Soccer and Bowling being my favorite of the bunch.) And I'm trying to play more video games. (Going through my never-ending Steam library.) Plus, I've dabbled in making electronic & metal music, and I used to play a number of instruments. (Guitar, French Horn, etc.)

Hope you have a wonderful day!

@Saltwater Thief I understand where you're coming from. I suppose that's reasonable enough. I don't think I would want to follow any plot of any show exactly I would prefer to make my own version, because most exact plots of shows don't convert well to role-plays if they're not edited in some way. I guess I'm a little too used to D&D where most of the time I'm expected to die eventually, or to lose a fight or two, despite any possible effort I could put into it. Because like real life sometimes effort isn't enough. And I think in a magical girl RP, if there was some kind of big threat I think some of the role-playing could come from picking your battles. But I suppose I agree to the extent of not pulling stuff like this out of thin air and to warn everyone ahead of time that stuff like this will happen, so they are prepared for it. I know most people would rather win than lose, but I prefer wrenches being thrown if I'm in any roleplay with some kind of combat. Because I don't want to feel like there is no reward/challenge/risk for my effort. (sorry for the wall of text using phone to type this.)
I suppose my thoughts about roleplaying most shows I'd watch as a kid or when I was younger, I typically like to respect those stories but do want my RP's to be a bit more mature. (blame my adulthood for disliking most kid things nowadays. :P) You don't really need to make them too dark, if you don't want to. But I do feel most drama is best when it's dark, because more extreme moments will make the tension better. (it can be overblown or done wrong, but it is the most effective method if done correctly.)

I assume when you say this (the darker magical girl shows) wouldn't work as an RP plot, it's because it's blood thirsty and character death is involved. Right? Because a lot of roleplayers are too attached to their character to allow them to face injury or death. Despite I'd argue what makes the great RP's stand out from the good ones, that in the story the characters are involved in, it actually seems threatening and they don't have magical plot armor around them.

But, I do agree that slice of life and fun going adventure rp's are much easier to keep track of and not as demanding. And yes, most magical girl shows have surprisingly complicated plots (and/or good character development.) Which is why people enjoy them. Like I said, I guess I'm in the minority when I do prefer the darker ones. ;3

(forgive me, I typed this late and on a shitty laptop. Because petsitting.)
@Garattee Sigh, What else would you like me to call you other then "friend"? You know there's an entire meme around people saying "I'm not your buddy, pal." and so forth and I'd like to think it's for people that take endearing statements offensively...Any rate, seems a little silly to dictate what I can and can't say. But, if you specifically don't want any actual musical discussion, you can state that in the actual front page, since you made the thread. But I will hold my thoughts, specifically on your thoughts. I don't wanna fight over it. :3

Hey remixes should be against the rules. :P *kidding just in case it isn't obvious from the emoticon.* Well I guess if you say, "it's over already?" maybe that makes it's good background music...like I said always prefer in your face soundtracks. 6.5/10 Decent.

Good example of one. (though imao I find subtly can work best in horror games. :3)

@Garattee I was just having a discussion friend...About the music itself. If "I wouldn't of rated it much higher." seems like too much of a dogmatic defense/some kind of attack to you, wasn't even remotely my intention. But I apologize, I suppose. I was merely trying to discuss the music. I have no problems with people being honest. Figured any music thread could be about discussing music, if you defend your music, if I rate too low or surprised if I rate it too high. You have my full permission to do so...

@GarlandDaHero Listened to it so I could give ya rating to tide you over. Usually if someone skips a rating, I'll just rate em all. ;P FFX did have a good soundtrack. This particular track is decent, maybe I'm just impatient but I've never been super fond of most atmospheric/quiet moments in music. 6.5/10

@Garattee As for your musical track. The female vocals seemed a little sub-par to me, maybe the words they sang could be considered catchy. It's probably because of the console it's on, but the instrumental part feels mostly bland as well. The occasional guitar parts were nice. 4.5/10

@LuckyBlackCat I'm fine with that.
@Rin I'll admit, I haven't watch a lot of Precure, but it seemed very childish to me. Some of the Nanoha's series had some darker moments in it. I'm just saying, I'd prefer more dramatic aspect than slice of life stuff.

@VitaVitaAR I honestly really liked the anime for that one, only real flaw imo was the mascot was tryharding a bit too much. And the manga apparently gets better. True, though I'd prefer to start where the action begins, if you feel me. :P
@Lost Cause No, I agree with you. But that's why I said that's why I was in the minority. I like dark shit. What can I say? XP I figured I'd throw my two cents.
I'd be interesting in doing something like this, what type of RP did you have in mind? Free, casual, advanced?
