As the team approached the battlecruiser, they got too close for the heavy cannons to be a threat anymore, but it brought them within range of point-defense guns, emplacements designed to take out attacking strikecraft, which turned out to be much more dangerous than the heavy cannons due to their accuracy and higher rate of fire. The team started getting pelted by bullets and beams, weaker than the cannons that they were able to avoid earlier, but still damaging. It wasn't long before another one of the strikecraft Solomon was controlling got destroyed. Fed up, Solomon sent the last remaining strikecraft to crash into a section of the battlecruiser, effectively crippling it. "Let's get the hell out of here!" Solomon said, while sending his bits to harass any point-defense guns that were still firing at them. once they neared the freighter, Solomon said, "Let's get behind it and destroy the engine, that'll keep it from jumping, then we move on to Enemy Group 6."

Solomon pulled back all his bits and noticed that the enemy strikecraft had taken out quite a few of them. "Asteria, can you fix up my cog? I'm missing a few of my bits," Solomon said as he continued to fire at the cannons of the enemy battlecruiser which was deliberately firing in their flight path with the intention of slowing them down and preventing them from reaching the freighter.

"I'm glad to see you all got the hang of it," Pharazon said.

Out here, it was clear that the four ships were in some sort of astrophysical phenomenon. An iridescent, spherical border separated the 'real space' containing the ships, and the surrounding hyperspace. In the front, an image of the destination planet could be seen, as if the ships had already arrived, while behind, an image of the planet they had departed from, as if they had never left. It was as if the Destiny Squadron was the same proximity to both planets, and this was technically true according to space-fold physics. As both planets were visible to the ships in the space-fold, the ships were also visible to both planets. Light, "information", always got through the space-fold faster than matter, resulting in this strange phenomenon.

It's actually been outlawed for decades for anyone other than a Quantum to build a Quantum as part of the treaty that was signed for the three nations to have a cease-fire. So you could either change that and make it so Quantums in the Ascendancy built Invictus, or you can keep it, but that would mean Invictus' very existence is be considered an act of war on the part of the Ascendancy for breaching the treaty.

Also, I think I might have misconveyed the Horizon stance on humans. While the "Perfect machine" ideology is fairly common among Quantums in Horizon, a vast majority follow it in a very moderate sense. most feel that following it will lead to coexistence with humans, and that that is something desirable. The Horizon government has no laws that would hurt or disadvantage humans, and though they are wary to let them hold political office, they do not prevent humans from those positions. Many Quantum believe that history has demonstrated humanity's inability to govern without conflict. I guess what I'm saying is Invictus' beliefs would be considered fringe by almost everyone he'll meet.

Lastly, for now, please include some more details on what your cog can cloak against. For example, Askalaphos, the other cloaking cog, currently has an electronic-countermeasures-based cloaking, meaning that it jams radars and cameras, but is not cloaked to visual inspection. I like the cogs cyberwarfare ability, and I think you should make that your main focus as you 'level up'.

"TURN OFF YOUR GODDAMN CELLPHONES!" Meltdown raged as Phenomenon and Vigil approached. He grabbed his head as his body started glowing; any part of Phenomenon and Vigil's body that wasn't covered would probably have a tan the next day at best, a sunburn at worst. Meltdown ignored them and continued shambling toward the forest to the east. Bullet fire rained out of the forest, intentionally avoiding Meltdown, and attempting to hit Phenomenon and Vigil. Men with hazmat suits stepped out of the trees holding assault rifles to survey the damage. A few more men in the back were wheeling over a large cage made of steel mesh labeled with, "Faraday Cage", and, "The Silence you seek". Seeing the words, Meltdown began running full-force towards the cage.

Prism received many thanks, and although very few people recognized him, they could tell from his powers and his actions that he was a metahuman, and that he was here to help. Someone mentioned something along the lines of "aren't you that guy who stopped the Stable Boys robbing that bank?" that a few people nearby seemed to confirm. Legion took cover behind Nyx, who was capable of taking more punishment. Together, they were slowly thinning the ranks of the strikecraft, but it wasn't enough. Desperate, but trying to keep his act together, Solomon shouted out, "Try this!" Legion glowed orange in certain places as a shockwave was felt by every human in the vicinity resulting in a mild headache. What happened as a direct result of this however, was that three enemy strikecraft disengaged and re-positioned themselves in front of Legion, protecting it. "You defend Asteria, I've got me some shields," Solomon told Blythe while wiping away some blood that had been trickling from his nose. "I've never been able to mind control three people at once!" Solomon reveled in his power as he sent one of the strikecraft that he was controlling on a suicide mission into the thick of enemy forces. It took out a few of its allies, who were reluctant to strike back, before they overcame their inhibitions and ended up destroying it. This was enough for the enemy carrier to order a retreat, causing all enemy strikecraft to return except for the two under Solomon's control.

"Great! If we can get past that warship, we should be able to find a way to halt the freighter from jumping," Solomon declared, though his voice was trembling slightly, "Let's go!" Legion zoomed towards the battlecruiser that stood between Blue Team and their objective.

Horizon politics doesn't really work like that, and even if it did, they would never let someone like that become a test-pilot for a secret government project. If your character was labeled as a 'terrorist' by one of the other nations (FAS or the Ascendancy) and sought refuge with Horizon, that would work.
