"Well, that will be all," Sion said, being his usual tight-lipped self.

"Actually, Blythe might be the best pilot among the ensigns; she may even be better than me and Sion, though Sion probably won't tell her that," Maya said, "There's an emotional and personal side to cogs. You want to help and heal people, so your cog has the ability to repair other cogs. Israfil is...afraid, so Orpheus is heavily armed and armored, to keep enemies as far away as possible. Solomon wants to control others, so his cog literally has little slave units flying around it. So what does that say about Blythe? The fact that Nyx is so...plain...I think is indicative of her desire to prove herself as a pilot, no tricks, no gimmicks, just pure skill. At least, that's my assessment."
"I suppose I will try an espresso shot. Why not, right? She'll have water and a blueberry muffin. And an oatmeal raisin cookie..."

Suddenly, he leaned over to Shizuka's ear, cupping a hand over his mouth.

"Can you tell her that you're out of cookies? I don't like her eating a lot of sweets." he whispered to her, retracting before Lucille realized what was going on.

He hoped she didn't mind the invasion of personal space, but he didn't want his little girl to start throwing a tantrum by denying her the cookie. For a second though, he almost forgot his manners.

"Oh, and thanks! You've been very helpful!" he quipped.

Shizuka blushed slightly as Alban got uncomfortably close, though she didn't move or flinch as she was somewhat shocked. But when she heard what he said she resolved to cooperate to the best of her abilities. Though having never been a parent herself, Shizuka recognized the struggle of parenting, even if Alban's tactic was a little less than honest. Suddenly it hit Shizuka that the cafe does not, in fact, serve oatmeal raisin cookies, causing her to smile gently at the irony of the situation. Taking down Alban's order, Shizuka said, "An espresso shot and a blueberry muffin. We don't actually have oatmeal cookies." Shizuka crouched down to Lucille who was enraptured by Zac's tricks. "We don't have oatmeal cookies, so I'll make your muffin a special muffin," Shizuka said, hoping that would be enough to appease the child. Getting back up, she gave the kitchen the order, coming back a short while later with the coffee and the muffin. She placed the cup down in front of Alban and wordlessly drew his attention to the tray of creamer and sugar which he might need if the espresso was too strong. The muffin she placed down had a maraschino cherry on top of it, a special request she had placed with the kitchen.

Shizuka stepped back and also appreciated Zac's tricks, chuckling a bit when Lucille demanded the impossible of Zac, though she became a bit awestruck when Zac somehow forced the phone into the bottle. Shizuka clapped her hands at the performance.
When the twins arrived, Sion got up and asked Blythe to follow him into a separate room. Meanwhile, Maya stayed and asked Claire to sit down.

"I just wanted to say you did a good job in the simulation," Maya began, "even though you 'lost' you fared quite well against Tera who had more offensive options. I also understand that neither of you were really meant for combat, so you showed good adaptability and composure out there. That's all I realyy wanted to talk about, we've reviewed everyone's performance and are just giving our evaluations one-on-one. And don't worry about Blythe, Sion was rather impressed."

"You took down Orpheus in the simulation. Impressive," Sion said to Blythe, "In the right hands, that cog would be a monster, but you slipped past its overwhelming firepower and its defenses. Granted, Orpheus wasn't meant for dog-fighting or dueling. Anyways, I just wanted to let you know that you did well. And no, this wasn't a competition, so your sister did fine even though she technically 'lost' the 'match'."
Hi sorry for the delay, I was on a trip and didn't have any time to write up responses. I'm back now.
"Alright, I'll leave you to it then," Malkas said, giving Freya her privacy.

Meanwhile, Illithor, Jeel and Lannis had made a sizable net. "I think that should do for now," Jeel said, "Of course, you'll want a few extra in case one gets damaged, but we can make those some other day. It was a pleasure working with you; you never really know someone until you've worked with them."
『10:45 AM』

The little bell over the door rings as Zac steps inside the Shining Kettle. Seeing Shizuka at her post, he looks around to find that the place was empty, except for two people sitting at a booth. Deciding to take advantage of the downtime, he walks over to his co-worker with a smile. "Hey," he says. Noting a rather distracted look in her eyes, he asks, "Penny for your thoughts?"

"Ah...hello...Zac," Shizuka replied, remembering his name, "I-I think I hurt a friend. We only met recently. He's a very interesting individual. We went to the aquarium yesterday, but I don't think he was very happy by the end." Shizuka wasn't usually this loquacious, but it was really bothering her and she figured she'd be able to understand the situation a little better with the help of a man's perspective. Besides, if they were going to be coworkers from now on, she'd need to learn to be comfortable around Zac.

Suddenly, an exhilarated gasp came from Lucille's lips, and she started to point at a dark haired barista who was talking to a coworker.

"WOOOW, SHE'S SO PRETTY! I hope I'm that pretty when I grow up!" the little girl exclaimed, hopping up and down.

Alban laughed at his daughter's reaction and waved nervously at the barista. Lucille's outburst had disturbed one of the very few patrons there, who slammed whatever book he was reading and promptly left the cafe, mumbling something about how awful kids were. A rosy wave of embarrassment filled out Alban's cheeks in response.

"Sorry, she's... very excitable." he fumbled out.

As his gaze fell on the woman, he felt like he recognized her from somewhere. Probably from school since she appeared to be close to his age. The male barista, on the other hand, he didn't recognize at all.

"Uh... you wouldn't happen to sell blueberry muffins here, would you? Also, can one of you recommend a coffee? I'm not exactly well versed in the art of coffee." he asked the two, messing with his hair as he did so.

Shizuka headed over to Alban and Lucille's table, keeping an eye on the other customer as he left, waiting for him to be out of earshot. "Please pardon the other patron's behavior," Shizuka apologized, "Your daughter is very cute." Despite how young Alban was, Shizuka was observant enough, and family-oriented enough to not mistake Lucille for Alban's sister. "My name is Shizuka, and I'll be your waitress. We do have blueberry muffins. As for coffee, an espresso is a straight shot of coffee, for those who enjoy savoring the aroma of the coffee and either don't mind or enjoy the bitterness. Latte means that milk is added to the coffee to cut the bitterness and add the subtle, creamy flavor of milk. A Mocha usually has chocolate powder added, giving the coffee a chocolate taste and is sweeter. A cappuccino has steamed milk foam added to the top for texture. This is just a quick introduction."
@Viciousmarrow

Just a minor detail, but Shizuka is a waitress, Zac is a waiter/magician, and the barista is an old man who works behind the counter and actually makes the coffee.

EDIT: Also, I'm not much of a coffee drinker so I did a quick google of different coffee types. Shizuka's response may or may not have errors.
Hi, I'd be interested in RPing with you. Here is a link for my rules and preferences.

Of particular note is preference 1, which I will reiterate here:

Some sort of team- or squad-based combat premise. This includes super-sentai (power rangers), magical girl squad, superhero team, mecha team, classic fantasy RPG party, battle anime-inspired RP where each character has a unique power, etc. Now you might be able to think of many existing fandoms that would fit these categories, but I'd like to shy away from fandoms because I have a hard time remembering large bodies of lore. It's fine if an RP is inspired by an existing fandom, but let's you and me fill in the blanks and come up with our own world instead of having to hold each other accountable for knowing all the specific nuances of something someone else came up with. (Basically, if you like Power Rangers, Sailor Moon, Madoka Magica, One Piece, Bleach, Naruto, Gundam and any innumerable fandoms, then you'll probably like this category, the only difference is we would only be 'inspired' by the premise but not use it directly).

To be even more specific, I'd like to do a super sentai/power rangers and/or magical girl/boy squad RP. I've been hankering for something like this for a while.

Let me know if you're interested and we can start brainstorming/worldbuilding.
"If you're serious about the job offer," Zac says to the barista as he sits back down, "then I'll gladly take it!" Turning back to Livius, he adds, "And as much as I appreciate the offer, I don't think I'm ready. I still need to work out some tweaks in my escape, namely not drowning. But, if you keep that offer open, then I'll gladly take it once I know I'm ready!"

"Great," the barista replied, we can discuss a working schedule whenever you'd like. As the two young men were digging into their food, Shizuka stepped back into the employees only area to check her cell which had vibrated.

Sounds awesome Shiz! Can I meet you at the Shine City Aquarium at 2:30? I'll try and wear something nice haha! see you there xx

Shizuka smiled; she loved the aquarium, and it wasn't just the 'cute' or 'pretty' fish, sea mammals, and sea-fowl that she liked, Shizuka appreciated the magnificence of all forms of biodiversity, including crustaceans, cnidarians, and mollusks. She particularly liked the deep-sea exhibits, where the corridors were kept dark and everything was bathed in a blue hue, with cylinders of jellyfish floating about. Shizuka really looked forward to this outing with Nick.

Sunday, 10:22 AM

Shizuka was working the morning shift at The Shining Kettle again. She hadn't heard Zac's schedule negotiations with the barista, so she didn't know if he'd be in today.

"Umm...miss? Two lattes please?"

The order from the slightly disgruntled customer brought Shizuka's mind back to reality. "Y-yes, of course, will that be all?"

"Yeah."

Shizuka took the order to the kitchen and let out a sigh. She was preoccupied. Her date with Nick kept nagging at the back of her mind. For her part, she had enjoyed seeing the aquarium with him, but there was an unsettling undercurrent. Shizuka could tell by the end of it that Nick was uncomfortable, perhaps even hurt. He had expected something from her that she didn't reciprocate. He had asked several probing questions, made a few tactful advances, but she had diverted them without realizing what she was doing. After all, he couldn't be attracted to her, right? She was too plain, too old-fashioned; while he was young at heart and unique. And he hadn't known her for very long. But she couldn't just let things stand the way they are, not until she apologized and got to the bottom of this. Shizuka knew from his radio show that Nick was an admirer of women; if he did in fact like her, she would probably tell him that he deserved better.

She sent a quick text, "Hey Nick, after we met at the aquarium, something's not sitting right with me. I feel I need to apologize. Can we talk?"
@Dynamo Frokane

Hey just got home from my vacation/trip. I've been keeping up with reading all the posts, but I was unable to keep up for the past few days. Sorry I missed letting y'all know that I'm still here and interested in continuing the RP. Shizuka just had an uneventful Saturday night. I'll make a post of her reminiscing about her little 'date' at the aquarium with Nick.

@Viciousmarrow

Although if Nick and Shizuka don't work out, I think Shizuka would be pretty compatible with Alban
