Some vague info-dump just to help on CS making

details might change
At least half a century has passed since the discovery of the hollow earth, technology advances exponentially as the analytical engine was invented. Machines and weapons are now powered by steam, diesel, springs, gears and cogs. The next step in technological advancement will possibly be the achievement of consciousness in machines.

Politics-wise, different empires found their way into Agartha and are trying to grab their share of power within the Aeraport. Intense negotiations and debates still occur on a daily basis on how to divide the newly conquered lands from the native creatures. There are rumors that a certain country/organization just declared war on the city.

As explorers first paved the land of Scorpion's Ville, new mining sites of rare minerals (gold, iron, copper, jewels) and oil are discovered. The economy in Aeraport immediately boomed. A unified currency of cog-shaped gold coins, commonly called "Chink" was created and used to facilitate trades. Merchants from all walks arrived at the metropolis to sell and buy goods. New types of jobs are created as there are needs to protect the mining sites from creatures and bandits.

Social status and stereotypes are a real thing in the metropolis. There are places only aristocrats have access to, while skin-color and gender are still an issue; but at least the situation is improving. As the number of female inventors and politicians increase, the city hears new voices as groups and societies are formed to protect certain human rights.

On the other hand, religion also finds its place into the city. New beliefs have formed when the hollow earth is proven. Some people believe that the hollow earth is where hell is, and man has no rights to conquer the land; some others think that the creatures here are the gods and started worshiping them. Of course, there are also some extreme occultists...

The environment of Agartha is a peculiar one. The sun always hangs right in the middle of the sky; everyday an eclipse slowly forms as night befalls. Interestingly, the day-night time period coincides with that of the outside world. Shower of stars are visible above the night sky of Agartha. There is a theory that the stars are actually diamonds on the ceiling of the hollow earth. Climate and the four seasons in the hollow earth are also not much different from the surface... so far.

The role play will focus on the expansion of human settlements across the hollow earth while fighting off ridiculously gigantic creatures.
@Forgiveness maybe I'll let sloth kidnap vito because he fell asleep while waiting ;) and alright xD
The world never stops even if you hold your breath; but this is hardly the case in a role play. I find that time seems to slow down whenever characters start to interact with each other in a RP world. It gets boring as other RPers will usually have to wait until all the interactions are over before they can advance time. Any suggestions on giving players more freedom on time/ advancing time in a smoother way?

I'm thinking about a non-linear time stamp, by posting events time frame beforehand, and stating a certain end result. So other RPers may skip time a bit before interactions end.

I think that this will encourage players to develop more short stories while not hindering the main story flow. Is this a good idea? or any better ways to do it?
@ayzrules Thanks :) and no problem xD

Anyway for newcomers, here's the interest check post in Advanced Roleplay section.

You may start with thinking on a CS xD
Feel free to pitch in ideas as well :)
For newcomers, there is always space for more characters in the hollow world.
Thank you for your patience, your game will commence shortly.
@Forgiveness aww I see :o You don't have to drop out though, I can store your character somewhere and advance the story first.
Thanks for the showing interests! :) I will put in more details today.

Hum~ @Adalea I will have a major world plot and also plant in small storylines, but you guys don’t have to follow any exact planned route. Think of it as a world with tons of scripted stories to explore, but you can create your own as well. I also want the players to be able to interact with and have an impact on the world, so the main world storyline will change according to how players interact xD

Steampunk ⚙ Big Ass Monsters

The beginning of the 19th century, when history as we knew it developed, an alternate history of steam and fantasy unveiled itself right underneath our feet. It all began when someone discovered a big hole somewhere across the land of Kansas, America. The federation decided that it was a good idea to assemble an exploration group and sent them into the mysterious hole with the newly developed airship prototype.

As the team navigated the airship carefully through a long windy cave, they felt a flip in gravity as the airship began to row slowly about its longitudinal axis. The whole world in front of them rotated upside down, and right after the airship stopped rowing it started ascending. They were confused, but they proceeded. Eventually, the airship found its way to an exit. With much contrary to their expectations, the team saw sunlight. The sky was as blue as the outside world and the sun was hanging right above them. Appeared in front of them was a vast land of desert. Unfamiliar gigantic creatures were spotted traversing the land. The team immediately knew that they had arrived at Agartha, the hollow earth.

As news on the discovery of the hollow earth reached earth's surface, the whole world shook. At first, people around the world were deeply skeptical and full of disbelief; but as more photographic evidences were produced, it caught their attention. Scientists and aristocrats around the world started flocking in to Kansas, hoping to spectate the hollow earth with their very own eyes. The following decade saw hundreds of airships built as young brave explorers were brought into the hollow earth. A new age of steampunkXmonsters had just begun.

Name: Doctor Ludendorff
Age: 35
Number of Confirmed Kills: 24
Personality: bad-tempered, lone wolf, cold-blooded
Backstory: Born in a well-educated family in German, Ludendorff followed his mother's footsteps and finished his PhD in medicinal chemistry at the age of 25. He then moved to the US and became a physician. Ludendorff had always been fascinated about the work of poison within the human body. As he became too obsessed with toxicology, the physician was soon suspended indefinitely from his drug practices for crossing the line when he administered his patients with unauthorized drugs (actually poison), almost killing them in the process of his "little experiments". He wanted to continue his research in poison but the society seemed to find his ways a bit too unconventional and immoral. This was why he decided to become an assassin, as he could always test his newly created poisons on his targets without much restriction; since the dead never complains anyway.

Weapon: A variety of poison
