“Heh. I see, uh… Quite honestly, I’ve never heard of an internet guy named ‘Bookman.’ And I sure as hell dunno anybody by that name. Why do you need to fight this guy, anyway? Is he a strong fighter?”

Terry narrowed his eyes. Mika might not admit it, but it was palpable that she didn’t seem to trust him, which was only fair since they’d only met. While he normally put no ill-will towards anyone, he knew he still had to remain vigilant. After all, we’re talking about a person who brought a pair of knives swords to a fisticuffs. That—in and of itself—was already quite fishy. On top of that, why would she come after a petty internet guru, anyway? Did she have a personal problem with him? Or was there something more than meets the eye? Either way, unless said guru was a cult leader with the unthinkable strength, he couldn’t comprehend why anybody would try to find and tear an obnoxious influencer from limb to limb. Really taking being a hater to the next level.

Mika didn’t flinch nor laugh like the crowd did. She just strengthened her face and evaded his ‘Power Wave’ with relative ease, letting it comb through the sea of people and shake a mini-truck loaded with barrels in a harsh knock! It surprised Terry how she managed to maintain a straight face even after such a spoony act. Did it not look amusing to her? Or was she really that hard to be amused? Thankfully, at least, his plan worked as expected. Baited, she drew her blades out and assumed a ready stance, even taunting back at him. Some of her words intrigued him.

“Ohoho… Fine speech, baby, it’s on!” Terry excitedly exclaimed, triggering the crowd to roar aloud in rejoice. “Girl, you’re so wild, though. Don’t you just love the kinda girl who’ll just… rip you apart?” His fists tightened, his smile spreading from ear to ear. “Y’know, when I left my apartment today, I thought, ‘Damn, I wish some cute lady with a knife would just beat me up and wreck me.’ Been a hot minute since a girl locked me up and broke me from bone to bone.”

As a whistle left his mouth, the three-time KOF champion gestured at the blade-wielder with a waving palm, making it seem like he was inviting her to strike first.

“So, c’mon! If we wanna get serious, then let’s get serious! ’Cause I can show you the brand new world you’ll never forget...”

And… Did he just wink at her? The way Terry quipped back at Mika, he made it seem like he was trying to attract her. That, or he was getting a little too excited for the subsequent bout that he forgot to keep his mouth under control.

Thankfully, Terry was sufficiently agile for his size. Reflexively, he evaded to his side, sidestepping out of the lunging blade. Wasting no time, he leaped in the esper’s direction with a front kick, extending his lower limb and attempting to falter her upright form.

“Hyahh–!!”

If connected, Terry would go on to kick Mika by the shin, then followed it up with a high kick to the mandible. He didn’t intend to finish her off, either, since he never entertained such a thing.

“Well, that’s a fancy ol’ sword, alright,” the brawny blonde quipped, a confident smirk all over the lower half of his face. “Did a certain ‘God of War’ make that for you?”

FIN.

As an IC event, for players and NPCs it makes sense for. I am planning to have the Two Funerals of Tony Stark. One will be held by Stane. Which your big names and public figures (non fugitives) will go. So Stane will likely invite Lord, Luthor, Trask, Doom etc.

The other will be private held by Rhodey. The FF are obviously invited @Half Pint, I could see Sentinel potentially having crossed paths with the Starks and getting an invite. A member of the Wayne family, depending on how their new player wants to set that history up.

If you feel like your character/s/npcs should get an invite just @ me.

Sounds interesting, but probably after Deathstroke’s done fighting this secret character I’ll reveal on the next issue. When will it be held? Is it some time after Deathstroke’s next one or?

Indeed, but I just figured it was good for a show. Just for that exact scenario, is all. I do think of having Terry throw more punches and kicks to make the fight more grounded like we’ve discussed. Though, if you wanna use specials sparingly, I’d say go ahead. I might do that again only when Terry has to.

Btw, I’ll work on his post ASAP. About time, because I’ve just finalized the collab post with guys from the Smash RP.

Nobody can be true human or a half. Monsters can't with the non-monster races. I'm rather against having half-monsters because I would prefer to keep the future as something like witch + deep sea creature = sahuagin for the purpose of mechanics rather than doing half measures. Generally, if I can't give them a species name, they won't exist.

That doesn't mean that someone can't be aesthetically or effectively human. If you want to play a more humanized orc, that's fine. I also don't mind if people humanize concepts (IE, oni ranges from cutie with horns to giant red/blue behemoth of muscle--I don't care where on the spectrum that's placed).

If someone wants to be a human-ish character, they'd either do something like be a human adjacent monster (see: witch, vampire) or have some phenotype/variant ala calling them something like Evil Human.

The typically "good" fantasy races (see: humans, beastmen, elves, dwarves, etc) are completely locked. Evil variants of them are allowed (see: witch, beastmen (evil), dark elves, duergar).

Do be warned I am closing up shop in like 20 hours or so. Exact time is arbitrary because I have my nightmare gacha pull stream for GFL2 that day and must entertain californian fighting game players--no idea how long the stream is going to take since i'm full spending an account that's mostly saved since launch.

Ah, I see. So, no half-monsters, right? Guess I’d just be opting for a full-blown wolf, I think. Lol. Now the problem is, I haven’t really found the best FC for this type of OC. Can’t just use Jon from Darkstalkers because there’s a good chance you guys would just recognize him, and then ask me “isn’t that just re-skinned Jon Talbain with different skills/abilities/backstory?”

Anyway, hope the stream went well for you out there, chief. Also, I saw that some of the earlier birds got sorted out. Will I get selected too if I were to apply for a character?

Do you have an OC monster?

We may be monsters, but we were brought here to defend this place from the true monsters - adventurers. Murder hobos who break into your homes, slay everything that moves, then ransacks the place looking for loot or cutting off your ears.

Why do they want our ears?
What use could they possibly have for them?

Hmm.... Not that I think I have just yet. I’ve always been more of a canon character player, tbh. So far, I’ve only had one OC idea that I’ve been having for years, but even then, he’s your typical mortal with superpowers and martial arts expertise.

Like half-human, half-horse? Centaur? Sure.
Half-human, half-bull? Minotaur? Sure.
Half-human, half-bird? Harpy? Okay!
Half-human, half-fish? Could use some merfolk.

But y’know what, I do have been thinking of werewolf or a full-blown talking wolf at this point since I had experiences writing wolf-themed characters (such as Wolverine and the guy whose name I used for my username). If only canon characters were allowed, I would’ve just gone ahead with Jon Talbain from Darkstalkers or Yugo from Bloody Roar, but, oh well... Lol.

P. S. Before anybody asks, no, I’m not a furry. It just so happens that some of my favorite characters in fiction have wolf as their spirit animal
