The highest, most decisive experience is to be alone with one's own self. You must be alone to find out what supports you, when you find that you can not support yourself.

The core of an individual is the mystery of life, which dies when it is 'grasped'. That is also why symbols want to keep their secrets.

The Harbinger of Ferocity

Agent of the Wild, Aspect of the Ferine
Nature, red in tooth and claw.

"There is, indeed, no single quality of the cat that man could not emulate to his advantage."
- Carl Van Vechten

I am, at my core, a personification and manifestation of those things whose blood and hearts run red with the ferocity of the animal world. It is this which convicts and controls my works, my writing, my being; the force and guidance in which I gain wisdom from. It is what inspires me as a creator and weaver of words, the very thing I admire as an author.

My leanings, savage as they are, are of the feline sort as there exists no greater lineage of beasts whom can be drawn from. No others captivate and motivate my talent and skill as the greatest of cats do.

I feel as though I am horribly out of place then here. The only language I officially know, if one can even call that knowledge that, is the aforementioned English, but I am able to work some of the intricacies of the feline dialects. At least being able to not only read cats small and large, but predict them while getting them to "converse". Surprisingly useful, as while you get a lot of strange looks when you chuff like a tiger and the other tigers respond, you are the one to reap the reward when they actually approach close enough to touch without irritating them. A debatably practical talent, I admit... certainly not for novices either. Being mauled or eaten has a way of ruining the whole experience.

Digressing from that, I do need admit that one thing I have encountered several times over in our roleplaying community here in rapid succession as of late was the outright vanishing of several different, unassociated roleplayers with no obvious reason. Several stories all ground to an absolute halt and now I repeat the cycle of hunting down new stories that I would mesh well with.
A tremendous paw toyed the soil beneath it, each digit nearly as thick as a man's fist tensed gently in underlying thought. It was a subtle gesture, so subtle that the kind of men were unlikely to notice it, but those that could would have read it with an understanding that was as clear as day; the great cat was curious. While not unsure how to proceed, it certainly did not expect this - this small blind girl who laid blank eyes upon him, her sight having clearly been long since robbed. This turn of events was indeed as strange as it had perceived, but deeper intuition suggesting there was far, far more to come yet with this one.

She drew closer, seemingly unafraid of the strange voice and aura that filled the ambiance of the night, that which accompanied the resplendent figure of primeval kind.

By some means, she looked upon the leviathan, almost as though she could truly see it, and if she were to look upon its spirit there would be a divine radiance that would set the figure apart from the night like nothing else; a corona of ghostly white and gold fire would surround its form, drawn up from its soul. It breathed power like a settling mist, but not for a moment did it seem compelled to show its might in spite of the strangeness of this all.

"Is this such a dangerous place then, mister? I did not know, I haven't been away from home much."

Her soft voice spoke of innocence... certainly no trespasser or worse and her demeanor was just as curious as it was legitimate.

"If it is indeed dangerous, than what are you doing here as well?"

There drew a brief silence as the thick neck and mane guided itself toward the moon's ever waning light of the night, dimly lit eyes gazing upon it as the two basked in its glory. It knew that the girl truthfully had the answer as it was, but it would grace her with words spoken strangely in her tongue. Still and yet, it did not look away from the lunar body or its faint halo of light, rumbling the air of its tone while it replied.

"Some dangers are greater than others..." It began simply, exhaling while it mused, "Some flee them... some of us are them."

"But there are always more dangerous things, small one." The unearthly voice continued before returning its attention to the young woman before it.

"A shadow has fallen upon our world, one of terrible will and even more terrible might. It has claimed and taken that which is not of its domain, so in retribution, it must now pay the price of disturbing the order of things as they are. That is why I am here, but these matters do not concern you, at least not yet. What should concern you is, why are you here?"

The more exotic material within might not be appropriate to the campaign at hand, but some of the less extreme options fit as easily as one would expect within the modularity of Fifth Edition.
For those in need, I have access to all of the Unearthed Arcana material to date, as well as the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide, Temple of Elemental Evil, and Plane Shift Zendikar.
@Hekazu, I too would like to continue.
They are a lot better in person, that much I admit. The picture does no justice, but that cat in particular is young enough to not yet be indifferent and desensitized to humans. The older male could care less, whereas this one had a fair amount to say about the group of people, made forty, that interrupted our conversation.

I wonder where to find myself to next? At least now I have a reason to actually take pictures with the intentions of showing them to anyone, @Carantathraiel.

Other than this, what have you found yourself up to?
@Ojo chan 42, I will post tomorrow with that time likely in the coming morning specifically.
Sadly, this is the only photo that turned out "decent", as the images of the others are fairly washed out or are obscured more heavily by the enclosure fence, @Carantathraiel. Worse yet, it is not even that great a picture itself.
It is unfortunate but a week of time without answers does not make for this situation in a good light, @VKAllen, @Hekazu. I too must withdraw then, simply on principal, but I do hope it is evident that we the players cared about the setting - however little we knew and were more than eager to continue.

With that chord struck, @Hekazu, consider my interest as well, but I need ask if you wish us to make new characters or not? I can understand your reasoning either way, but do for the time being count me in among your lot.
Oh humans, your silly notions of always needing to earn respect and having expectations of not being treated like fumbling children, especially after seeking trinkets of terrible power and collapsing houses with unstable magic.
