I think Leon and Asterion could bond over being married to their roles and knowing it's too dangerous to even think about such feeble things.

Relatively small, wirey in build, basic black bob hair, not completely flat chested but enough to be mistaken for a man in full bike gear, but feminine without it. Thinking about it now she'd probably be closest associated as asexual or at most demi for nothing else than that her brain is far too chaotic to stop to think about sex, romance or attraction lol. I think if a character made a pass on her she'd either be confused or utterly hopeless at navigating it XD.

I think you made Leon sad with such a description. Plus, attraction physically doesn't mean Asterion would go for it. He has to have more mental stimulation and pleasure than physical.

Though I don't think anyone has really caught this man's eye at all but he's honestly too stressed out to fully consider such options or even entertain such pleasures of having such a companion. Because they would just die. To be honest. His luck? He'd step a little too close and they would blow up or something and he's already traumatized from his parents relationship. He'll just keep playing piano in the meantime.

I say it mostly because, in my head, her father would have held sexist views as well ( e.g. him wanting Mat to be the next leader and not Bella, although there are other reasons why he wanted this/he had other plans for her that he felt were more...fitting lol. I don't think she will experience that. Asterion isn't someone that is like "women can't be leaders!" And he wouldn't disrespect her for being a woman in power. He would be disrespectful if she showed no respect or care for him. At the end of the day, give or take, his basic foundations go off from respect. However, that being said, he definitely as a sprinkle of sexism in him.

Like he will be nicer to Bella or give her more leeway compared to someone like Zarek or Glyde or whoever.

I would say that you might be mixing up misogyny (hatred of women) with sexism. Sexism has broader definitions and even if Asterion's perspective/habits/beliefs are not necessarily bad. They would be categorized as a benevolent sexism which can still be very problematic even if they are not perceived in such a way. Favoring towards women. Versus malevolent or neutral sexism towards men.

If you look up benevolent sexism then watch Asterion's interactions. You might be surprised. 😂

Oh no. She can totally be capable of protecting herself if she so chooses. He just likes that appearance and aesthetic. But yes, he does enjoy being the protector and the lighter she is. The less of a hassle it is to carry her around even though he would be fine carrying most around.
