But Gil's armour survived getting hit by it, apparently. So it's not an absolute destroy-anything-no-matter-what. Just a really powerful attack. Although I'll concede relatively limited knowledge on the subject, as I have only watched Fate/Zero and some of Fate/Stay Knight. As well as several conversations on Gil's powers relative to other entities, which is why I know all his fancy tricks.

Considering Excalibur is not in this roleplay, I move to stop talking about it, as it's power or lack thereof is not relevant. Gilgamesh does not possess it, and Arthuria is not in the roleplay.

@Rin@Masterkeun

'Magic' in Warhammer Fantasy (now Age of Sigmar) is synonymous with Psyker powers in 40K. Both draw from the Warp. As such Psyker powers can legitimately be called 'magic' by the standards of most universes. I would argue that resistance to magic would therefore resist warp-based powers, and effects that solely affect magic use would also apply to psykers.

Magical items do not automatically ignore a Daemon's supernatural defences. Specific magical items designed to fight Daemon sometimes have this effect, such as certain artifacts wielded by the Grey Knights. However, general magic damage is no more effective against Daemon than physical damage. The exception is magic that directly targets the 'soul' or 'mind', which is more effective against Daemon.

If further clarification is necessary I could write up a short piece on the exact nature of Daemon and how they work.

-share Roukanken's ability to hurt ghostly things that would ignore mundane weapons.

A quick clarification.

Daemon are not incorporeal. They are purely physical entities. Their body is solidified warp-stuff, but it fulfills the same general purpose as the bodies of normal mortal creatures. The only difference is that Daemon have no internal organs, and therefore can only be killed by inflicting massive trauma on their physical forms (and certain magics). More powerful Daemon can also alter their form, regenerating from damage far more quickly than most mortal creatures. When enough trauma has been inflicted the Warp stuff no longer holds together, and the Daemon is destroyed, returning to the Warp. The ability to harm incorporeal or ghostly entities does not increase a weapon's ability to inflict harm to a Daemon, with the exception of some specific incorporeal warp entities.

The reason for Magnus' ability to reduce damage impacting him is the fact that his body is magically 'custom made'. It's unbelievably sturdy, far more so than almost any normal physical material. In addition, something akin to a psionic forcefield covers his body. This field vastly decreases damage inflicted to his form, granting him immense resistance.

If you want a weapon that will really cut him up, just use the spear that slices through all magic. This would ignore not only his magical forcefield, but also his armour and his physical form's durability, as all of those are magical.
@Raineh Daze

Actually, there are other weapons on the same level of Excalibur that would be able to harm him. And he wouldn't no-sell it, he'd simply take a relatively small amount of damage. You'd need to hit him repeatedly to kill him. This is also because Excalibur is magical, and Magnus has an inherent resistance to all things magical, due to his nature. And he only requires the power of the Warp to survive planet-destroying attacks, nukes are survivable either way.

But yes, Magnus is terrifyingly powerful. Most characters would have a hard time inflicting any real harm. This is one of the reasons I was opposed to bringing him in. However, as I said, I think Gil could defeat him, considering Magnus lacks the combat skills to be a significant threat in melee, and Gil is mostly immune to direct magical attacks.

I would argue that you're thinking of the wrong type of nuke. We've long since surpassed the little things that were dropped on Hiroshima, creating weapons over a thousand times more powerful.

Considering Magnus is composed of the Warp-stuff of Tzeentch, the literally body and soul of a Chaos God, I have no doubt Enkidu would work on him. That would be one of the ways Gilgamesh could win this fight, as in his current state Magnus would be unable to escape from Enkidu if he is trapped within.
@Raineh Daze

At his most sophisticated, Magnus has survived attacks that have annihilated planets, although that is with his defences augmented by the full force of his power. He hardly ever appears in the Materium, and when he does, almost no force the Imperium can deploy is able to take him on. The entire Space Wolves chapter would be unable to defeat him if they mobilized together. The dude is the most powerful Primarch by far, and arguably the most powerful currently active entity other than the Gods in the 40k mythos.

Angron's manifestations do require the effective force of billions of nukes to actually take him out. Take into account that even standard missiles used in ship combat far outclass modern nuclear weaponry, and can easily level countries. And that characters such as Angron have survived being hit by such attacks.

The explosion created by Excalibur is a pebble in a pond compared to a high-powered nuclear weapon, which would have simply leveled the entire city had it been unleashed.

Personally, I was opposed to accepting Magnus, considering his immense power. But this is partially balanced by the fact that he has no real skill in melee, and therefore cannot bring most of his physical prowess to bear properly. His magic is also limited, preventing him from doing stuff like pulling planets into the Warp, stopping time, or just ripping apart his opponents on a subatomic level.

And I am a huge fan of Fate/Zero, which I've watched 3 times now. That clip is awesome XD. Damn. Although Rider is still the best character.
- Set Harth, District 14 -

As Set dashed forward his blade met with Vader's, and the two sword clashed in a shower of sparks. Each blade was a constant particle beam contained within a magnetic arc, a contained beam of light producing an unparaleled amount of energy, limited entirely to the length of the blade. Had the magnetic arc not contained this energy the power of the two blades would have burned Set to a crisp merely due to his proximity, but it was these very arcs that allowed the blades to feign solidity in combat. Each arc rejected the arc, hyper-powered magnets that refused to allow the beams to cross. Truly they were the most powerful weapons in the galaxy, capable of slicing through steel, titanium and almost every other known metal or alloy with unmatched ease. And yet they were not without flaw.

It would be impossible for Set to win a direct contest in this matter. Even without taking into account the difference in raw Force power, Vader's suit enhanced his strength to superhuman levels. It was only Vader's preoccupation with surviving multiple coordinated assaults that allowed Set to hold his own for even a moment, but he would certainly be overwhelmed if he kept it up for more than that moment. No, if he was to win this fight he would have to win it on his own terms. If he could not win through power, he had to win through wit and skill, two elements that he luckily possessed in abundance. Carefully placing himself so that Vader's armour shielded him from D.Va's constant assault he prepared for a maneauver that would end this battle, one way or the other. Either he would die, or he would inflict sufficient damage to Vader to force him to retreat, or kill him outright. Only one way to find out.

"Hold fire for a moment, then unleash everything you have when I tell you to. He'll be momentarily vulnerable." This was the message that Set sent telepathically to D.Va, all he could do in the moment. Together with this message he sent a concrete sense of where Vader was, which he hoped she'd be able to interpret. Considering that his next move would prevent pretty much all defensive actions on his part he really did hope she stopped firing. If she didn't chances were he'd sport a couple of nasty wounds, and, lacking armour, might even die in a rather humiliating manner. Locked in combat with the Dark Lord of the Sith, died by friendly fire from giant pink robot. Definitely not his favourite. Of course, that was assuming this plan even worked.

Goddamnit, why did these plans always have a chance of killing him? You'd think after a thousand years he would have learned to make better plans. Then again, he was still here, so....

Okay, no time for hesitation. No time for thought.

Breathe in....

Breathe out....

Move

Like quicksilver Set slipped past the blade, his free hand shooting upwards and onto Vader's shoulder. His mind empty, guided by instinct and the force alone, the Dark Jedi flipped up and over Vader, twisting in the process. A mid-fall slash to the side, a distracting attack, even as he landed. Flow to the side, like a river, feel the air around you. Twist like a leaf in the wind, around, then directly in front of him. Set opened his eyes, even as Vader's lightning-fast blade shot towards him. He was perfectly positioned for a strike, but his sword was on the wrong side for defence. He'd pushed too close, gotten inside of Vader's defences to make this move harder to block, but in the mean time left himself defenceless. But for one element, an unexpected wild card. Raising his free hand Set made to catch the incoming saber, even as his stance shifted into one of attack. Of course, there was no way that he could actually catch a lightsaber bare-handed, although some far more skilled Force wielders could. But in that instant where he should have been cleaved in half, Vader's blade sputtered, and then turned off.

Cortosis dust, kept in the palm of his off hand, and then thrown in a small cloud to block the incoming strike. What do you think abotu my trinkets now, huh?

Set's bright blue blade lashed out, aiming for Vader's life-support system. Whether he hit or not, he dodged backwards, knowing that it would be nearly a solid minute before Vader's blade would recover. Even as he was launched back, whether by his own volition or another one of Vader's force pushes he sent out a message, both to D.Va and Reinhardt.

"Now, hit him with everything you've got!"
@Wraithblade6@Raineh Daze

Quick Notes:

1) Gilgamesh has an effectively infinite number of weapons. While there exists a theoretical limit, the amount of shit he can throw at you is in sufficiently high quantity that counting it quickly proves to be pointless. As such, destroying his weapons, with the exception of several particularly potent weapons (Excalibur, Ea, Enkidu, etc.), is mostly pointless.

2) Due to the effect of Gate of Babylon, Gilgamesh can retrieve these weapons pretty much no matter where you send them. As such, the only way to remove them is destruction, which, as previously mentioned, is mostly pointless.

3) Various different weapons display different levels of indestructibility, but all have a baseline strength requiring immense force to actually destroy. Some are capable of reassembling after destruction, or otherwise have specific means of avoiding destruction. Take into account that each of these weapons is a unique magical item, with unique magical properties inherent to that weapon. As such, all will act in different manners.

4) Should you make the weapons sufficiently dirty, Gilgamesh will sometimes leave them behind as having become unworthy of him. He will also often refuse to use his weapons in scenarios that would devalue his treasures in such a manner. Being really disgusting is actually kind of a good counter to him for this reason. An example of this is when he was unwilling to confront the giant tentacle monster summoned by Caster in Fate/Zero, sacrificing only 2 weapons to it, which he refused to retrieve.

5) Magnus easily has the speed and strength required to swat most of these weapons out of the air, and if sufficiently durable that most such weapons would be completely ineffectual against him. For example, a blast from Excalibur's beam effect would only inflict mild damage to Magnus, which would be swiftly regenerated. This is due to Magnus being a Daemon Primarch, and therefore of a scale of being able to walk through nuclear explosions mostly unharmed. It would require some of Gilgamesh's most powerful artifacts to inflict any real damage to Magnus considering this immense damage resistance.

Just a short compilation of my knowledge on the combatants, in relations to each other.

Personal Prediction: Gilgamesh is going to be in serious trouble if he doesn't take Magnus seriously. If he displays his usual arrogance and refuses to accept such a powerful opponent he's going to end up very dead, or with a seriously damaged pride. If he unleashes his full power, even with current limitations, Gil should be able to win, however, even with Magnus' immense power. This is mostly because Magnus has been cut off from his more world-destroying levels of magic, and can no longer stop time.

Oh what a hideously deformed ego she had encountered. It seemed Emily had discovered one of those children who think they're sufficiently above it all that they felt free to insult those around them. The prissy ones, who were always pretending to be 'better' than the rest in some way. Despite her clear advantage, more than one person had looked down at Emily over the course of her life time, using something like social status, money, or play-it-safe principles to lift themselves onto a pedestal. And while those kinds of people generally just struck Emily as ignorant, those individuals who waited atop their pedestal for the world to worship them made her blood run cold. It was a show of overblown hubris, especially from one so young, to think herself so much better than this 'delinquent'. Regardless of what would follow, certainly Emily would consider this person an Emily, and never a person worth making introductions with. Such people were the scum of the Earth, blind to their own stupidity because there Ego is in the way.

Narrowing her eyes, Emily suppressed a growl. "Nice try, you should keep at it. If you keep going long enough, you might eventually learn to speak actual English like the rest of us." Based on what this person was saying, they had the ability to fly. That basically proved that they were some kind of monster, which was to be expected at this school, even if it was generally outside of Emily's own experience. It also meant that she didn't have to play as nice as she did with humans, who had very limited abilities when you really thought about it. If it turned out this girl was some kind of immense beast it would be fine to shock her as much as Emily wanted, right? Although given her particular stature, Emily doubted she was anything large. Maybe it was a dwarf, or a fairy. "If you're gonna jump off go ahead, if not get off my roof, midget." Of course, if all else failed, she was surely still allowed to dropkick a fairy.
@DarkwolfX37
So I'm not a SMT fan. What's a 'Dragon Steam'? Does it let you stream dragons? Dragon powers? Dragon-slayer magic? Does it let you stream Dragonball?
As a big fan of Legends (surprise, right?) I am aware of many parts of it that others are not. But in Legends the general level of power of the Sith and Jedi alike is increased significantly. Like how there are 2 Sith that obtained the power to wipe out entire planets with the Force, and one who even made a star go Supernova. Existing characters like Luke and Sidious also receive immense power boosts, allowing them to compete with the Legends homebrews, and causing the movies to keep making sense.

Some characters are clearly stronger than others. Just a bit before Magnus was facing off against I believe 5 other characters? Any one of those characters would have lost to Magnus in a 1v1 because of the power difference. If one were to pit Set Harth against, say, Gilgamesh, Set would last a glorious 15 seconds (the length of Gilgamesh's smug monologue). Vader is one of the most powerful characters in the RP, and represents an immense threat.

That said, those feats of power require him to stand still and concentrate. As long as he's engaged in melee or dodging bullets he can't use that kind of power. Characters like Youmu have a chance of outspeeding him, and inflicting serious damage while barraging him with attacks. While Set can level the power gap through trickery, sorcery, and by finding friends. Weaker characters can topple stronger characters by playing to their strengths, or by banding together. And the stronger characters must be careful not to be too powerful, lest too many people decide to gang up on them.

In short: power differences exist, but they're not bad.

Vader is a seriously bad mofo, and should be dealt with as if he were a 'boss monster'. Lots of people working together, or confronted by another exceptionally powerful character. He could be defeated here because Set knows what he's weak to, and isn't going to let him use most of his fancy force tricks. Combined with the constant assault of the other two, I see Vader only winning barely, or more likely just getting forced back/defeated.
@Lmpkio@VitaVitaAR@Raineh Daze

Okay, so, take into account that Vader is ludicrously powerful. The dude picked up a Star Destroyer with the Force. That's at least 1000 tons of telekinesis right there. He also crushed an AT-AT once. As such, given a moment to focus, there is very little that he cannot straight-up kill.

Honestly, the only real hope anyone except maybe Magnus has of beating this guy is keeping him off-balance. If Set manages to land a blow to the more important parts of his suit Vader might be forced to retreat. But if he gets even a moment of not constantly defending against everything, he could apply his full power, which would practically instantly annihilate any of the combatants.

So yeah, even 3v1 with surprise and prep, best hope we have is making him withdraw. Actually defeating Vader would require far greater numbers, or far more powerful characters.

At the mention of Glasgow Emily halts her precarious walk along the railing, looking over at Elidh and raising an eyebrow. "Are we really counting Glasgow here? What even IS there in Glasgow? I have been pretty much literally all over the world, so believe me, there is almost nowhere as boring as Glasgow." Of course, Emily herself had never been to Glasgow, but she didn't feel the need to mention that, safe in the knowledge that Elidh hadn't either. Or at least not really, as being in the car didn't count. Emily cast another appraising glance across the school yard, critically examining the ancient gargoyles and faded brickwork. It wasn't quite her style, although she supposed it definitely looked a dark fantasy sort of fancy. With a shrug Emily turned back to Elidh. "Not sure what the Greeks have to do with it, but to me it just looks like whoever built this was overly fond of pillars, and not so fond of colours. Or sunlight, for that matter."

As she was addressed by the newcomer, Emily's face immediately returned to that slightly smug smirk that appeared to be her default. "Ew. Did you really just say 'btw' out loud? What are you even doing here?" With an exaggerated look of disgust and roll of the eyeballs Emily waved off the new girl, who had managed to pretty much immediately annoy Emily. "Sides, you're here the same as us, and you picked the lock, so it ain't my fault." Her previously exaggerated expression instantly shifted into an equally unlikely expression of innocence. "Suppose that makes all of us up here 'delinquents' doesn't it, huh?" Looking over the short girl, Emily sized her up, and decided as she usually did that she had nothing to fear from the brown-haired kid. "What are you even doing up here? You follow us up just to tell us we're delinquents, or you just a big fan of stairs?"
