I am sorry, I'm still here. Life has been a bit rough and busy. I'm going to try to play catch up.

EDIT: Actually, I feel a little overwhelmed with catch up. I may have to resign, unfortunately.

It is okay if you have to leave if you are overwhelmed. But you can come back if things get better and you wish to return.
@Theyra The sanctuary, which you spent no conviction and no time creating IC, was destroyed by an earthquake and volcanic eruption. The humans were also killed. The North Star is a 2 conviction cost Surreal Action that creates a new terrain feature that is large and permanent.

Well, that was a stupid mistake, and after thinking about it. I think this rp is not for me, since I did not know how much that all could cost conviction wise and..... I will leave the rp and not make more mistakes in the rp.

Name: Matías Sáenz
Appearance:

Age: 60
Gender: Male
Nationality: Colombian
Chaos Magic Ability: Elemental Manipulation - Matías is able to control the elements, earth, air, fire, water, ice, and lightning. He is able to control his selected element with his mind and

History: Matías just wanted to help his country. Born in Colombia and growing up during the Colombian conflict. He would enlist in the Colombian army to help stop the fighting after high school. Which Matías did well and eventually joined the AFEAU, Colombia's special forces. However, it was here that he would meet his future wife, but also see the corruption in the Colombian government and military.

As Matías became more aware of it, he grew more annoyed about it. But stayed since he wanted to help his country. Until one day, when his squad was betrayed by a commander officer while on a mission. While he would make it, most of his squad were not so lucky and despite the incident. To Matías's anger, the commander officer was not found and got away with it.

This was Matías's breaking point, and he would, in anger, leave the military. Ultimately, he left Colombia as well and moved to the United States with his family. Where he hoped for a quiet life with his family and swore not to join another military, as he did not wish to be backstabbed again. Which had grown to four with the birth of twins. For some years, Matías was content and happy with his life, now he was away from Colombia. Then demons poured into the world, and Matías would not stand by while the world would not stand.

He would enlist with the United States Army and given his past and skills. Matías was assigned to the Rangers after some training and would travel around the world, fighting the demon hordes. Which Matías would experience heartache when he learned that the city of Charlotte, where his family lived. The city was attacked and overrun by demons, and for a time, he did not know if his family lived. Where only his children, Amaya and Lucas, lived.

A part of him wanted to stay behind and look after his children, but the pain of losing his wife drove him to fight on. Matías arranged it so that Amaya would stay with a friend of the family while Matías focused on killing every demon he saw. Until humanity and angelkind drove the demon menace into extinction.

This is where Matías thought he would see peace once again and retire now that he was fifty years old at this point. But like many, he was blindsided by the angel's betrayal, and now humanity had a new foe to deal with. His son was killed during the early days of the angelic war when the angels breached the city of St.Louis. While the city would be retaken, Matías's family was reduced to only him and his daughter.

But as Matías turned his rage towards the angel threat, a familiar voice showed itself to him. The commander who betrayed him years ago was now working with him on ops. Apparently, his past crimes did not matter to the higher-ups ups and he still was the same corrupt person he was in the past. Only this time, it was tolerated due to the war. Now Matías thought differently, and instead of working with the commander. Matías killed him in cold blood and made no attempt to resist when he was caught.

Deemed a criminal despite the evidence of the commander's continued corruption. Matías was sent to Seraph's End to serve his sentence and probably not be freed ever again. But at least Amaya would visit him, and he would learn that she was pregnant, and he would be a grandfather. A small solace during his time in prison, and thinking he would never be free again.
Wardens: Trouble in the West

The American Frontier a land that, after the Civil War many people sought a new life and riches there. Traveled and settled the land west of the Mississippi. From the Midwest all the way to the West Coast. Manifest Destiny, they called it, and sure enough, those brave enough to deal with the danger of settling and starting a new life traveled west.

The danger, of course, is to be expected heading and settling the frontier. Most people think that danger comes from bandits, natives americans, wildlife, and sometimes the environment. However, there is a hidden danger in the west. A danger as old as humanity has been around. The supernatural, vampires, werewolves, demons, and other hostile beings. Plaguing humanity since the coming of human civilization, and in the Wild West, it is no different. Already, there are tales of monsters attacking settlers and townsfolk disappearing without a trace.

But this is where we come in, the Wardens. An ancient group that is dedicated to protecting humanity from the supernatural and keeping the peace with those supernatural that are friendly to humanity. A task that we have upheld for centuries. But something is happening in the American West. Something bad, for Warden agents, are disappearing throughout the frontier. Someone or something is targeting us, and it is clear they do not want the Wardens in the west. This is why I have assembled you all here, for you all are here to investigate who is behind these disappearances and what their plan is. Which is bound to be bad and support what few agents still operate in the west. This will not be an easy assignment. I trust your abilities to find out who is doing this and stop them from achieving whatever their plans are. Good hunting agents.

The Knights of Orion, a name that would be forever known to humanity. A military order that was founded during the Chaos Years. A period of chaos and disorder in human space that the government, the United Earth Republic, barely held on to and was unable to bring order to the chaos brought on by the Zion Declaration and the Grey Plague.

Warlords and diseases racked human space, and it was during this time that a group of people from the Kailan system. Both civilians and remnants of the UER military decided to do what was thought impossible. Bring order to chaos and formed the order, the Knights of Orion, named after their leader, Orion Klen. Using the resources of the Kailan system and built up their forces.

The order would launch their fleet, at first helping nearby systems and aiding them before recruiting and adding more manpower to their fleet. Then, when they were strong enough. Launch attacks against the warlords that plagued human space and one by one. The warlords would fall, and eventually a cure to the Grey Plague would be developed by scientists liberated by the order.

Within a span of twenty years, the Knights had brought order to chaos, and while they were stronger than what was left of the UER military and the populace on their side. Instead of taking over or ousting the UER government. The Knights under Orion would choose to hand over control of human space to what was left of the UER government, but on the condition that reforms would be made to better rebuild and secure human space. To which the UER would agree and undertake reforms and later become the United Systems Alliance.

The Knights of Orion rather than disband after the end of the Chaos Years. They chose to remain active and aid the new human government and be vigilant if another crisis happens again.

So here you are, a new recruit to the Knights of Orion mech academy, in the heart of the Knights' territory. Where you are the first of the newest generation of mech pilot trainees to fly the colors of the order. Which, after graduation, are expected to serve the order proudly and remember the Knights' motto. Bring order to chaos.

But, unknown to the new recruits, unknown forces seek an end to the reputation and power of the Knights of Orion. Okay, I see, it is just I would prefer the rp to not go down that route, is all. So yeah.
But that would shift the rp's focus. The idea of the rp is a sci-fi exploration of a post-apocalyptic galaxy and discovering what caused the galaxy's current state. Dealing with terrorists and the ship being sabotaged would mess with the point of the rp. So no terrorists or the ship being sabotaged by rogue human elements during the rp.
I feel like I should say this, but I do not plan on the rp going down that route. Especially at the beginning of the rp.
Arstus

"Hmmm," Arstus noted from his position at the temple entrance as he continued to observe the landscape. His fellow gods have been busy since he, Adria, and Moren went to the temple. Very busy while he has done little. Arstus looked back at the temple behind him, thinking about what he had seen and the questions he still had, and turned his gaze back to the landscape. Perhaps he should add more to the world for now. He thought for a time, there is still more that can be added to the still unfinished canvas that is this world. Arstus reasoned to himself, but first. He wanted to walk among his fellows' creations before he would add something else. See what they had made firsthand.

So Arstus made a final look at the temple, wondering when Moren would leave, but with his gaze set upon the world. He sent himself off into the world. Carefully observing his surroundings before finding a scene he did not expect. A group of mortals seems to be recovering from an attack on them by wildlife. Half were dead with fresh wounds, with some mortals crying over their dead bodies. Most were busy trying to look after their wounded, and there was a big crowd surrounding something Arstus could not see.

But, before he could observe more, he was noticed by some of the mortals, and looks of fear and dread revealed themselves. Some of the unwounded mortals would approach him. Arstus could tell by their body language and the look in their eyes that they thought he was another threat. Arstus slowly put his hands up and spoke in a calm yet reassuring tone. "I am not a threat to you, I am not going to attack you."

Two of the mortals traded looks as they tried to figure out if he was telling the truth. They had never seen a god before and did not know if this new being was truthful or another threat to their people in disguise.

But before they could say something, a smaller mortal, a child, ran up to one of the defending mortals. "Father, he needs you." The child said in a hurried tone before stopping, dead silent as she gazed with uncertainty at Arstus. Studying him, "Who is this?"

"I do not know, but they say they are not a threat." The mortal, looking at the child and looking back at Arstus in a quick succession.

"Your people have clearly suffered enough," Arstus spoke. "I do not seek to add more misery to your lives." Arstus's words hung in the air as the child was now trying more to get their father's attention. "Father, he needs you now."

Now being pressured by his child, the mortal spoke with a guarded tone. "Fine, I believe you, but if you try anything."

Arstus could feel the mortal's steel gaze on him and simply said. "I will not, I promise you," saying it in a sincere tone. Arstus knew that they had no chance against him. Mortals versus a god, but he is not here to cause pain or suffering.

The mortal simply nodded and followed his child to the large crowd. The other mortals backed off, accepting Arstus's words, and slowly went off to join the crowd.

Arstus followed, wanting to see what the child was talking about, and as he ventured into the large crowd of mortals. Each one noticed him and slowly gave way to him. Arstus discovered what the child was talking about. A mortal, clealy a older one and badly wounded. Lying against a rock. It was clear to Arstus as he studied the mortal that this one was not long for this world and his wounds seemed to indicate that he fought. He tried to talk, but another mortal, the father he met before. The father went to his side, and the older mortal whispered something in his ear before finally closing his eyes and dying.

"What did he say?" A mortal spoke up.

The father stood up and spoke with a heavy heart, "that is it my turn to lead."

The crowd went silent, and then soon there was talk among them.

Arstus took a moment gather everything in. The state of these mortals, and how unfinished the world is for them. He turned his gaze to the father. "What happened to your people is a tragedy, but this world is not ready for your kind, I am afraid." Since it seems like his fellow gods thought to create not just life but sentient life in a world that is still undone. Reckless it was and unfair to those mortals who have to live in this world. Plus, who knows what else his kin will make next? A shame and the showing of gods who do not care. A bitterness started to creep into his heart. This world needs to be made full, He thought.

But just because his kin are like this does not mean he has to. While he cannot undo what has happened, he can help this group of mortals in surviving this world. So his bitterness turned into resolve.

"So what will we do if this world is not ready for us?" The father asked, unsure of what to do next.

Arstus spoke again in a clear tone. "Since the world is not fit for you, I will aid you in surviving in it." Arstus pointed up to the night sky and made a new star. A bright star, brighter than any star in the night sky, stayed fixed in one spot. Clear for anyone to see. "Follow that star, and you will find a place, a sanctuary where your people can be safe."

The father and the crowd were speechless, and after a moment of gazing at the night sky, and seeing the new star. The father spoke, almost not believing what was happening. "Tha... thank you, and we will leave for this place as soon as we can."

"No problem, justremember, follow the star and you will find it."

The father nodded respectfully, and soon the crowd dispersed. Making preparations for the journey.

Arstus simply watched for a time before silently fading from sight and continuing his trek into the world. This time heading to the forest. Seeing what his fellow gods have made in there.
